  • Hyperdrive Class: Very Fast: 0.3
STANDARD FEATURES
The Archives of Saarai have all the standard features a station of their scale and functionality should possess to be effective and efficient, among them are the following:
  • Standard sublight engines
  • Standard repulsorlifts
  • Standard subspace and hyperspace communications
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Curator. The Archives of Saarai are maintained and curated by very advanced artificial intelligence. They are capable of controlling, guiding and regulating the various systems of the station and also provide informational guidance to approved visitors.
  • Databanks. The Archives are capable of holding and processing vast amounts of information. Some say that combined with the advanced artificial intelligence they could theoretically hold the collective knowledge of the entire Galaxy multiple times over. Saarai scoffs at this as overblown propaganda and always corrects them: "Certainly not. What place does the recipe of Aunt Xisha's favorite stew have in these archives? None. It holds the mysteries of the Force, our collective knowledge to maintain it for generations to come. No more than that."
  • Defenses. The Archives have been secured beyond doubt against most intrusions. Heavy plated hulls, strong shield systems and elaborate internal defenses make trying to take the archives into a potential suicide mission. Furthermore, the hangar entrances themselves are somewhat... special. Rather than be constantly in view and open, the hull is capable of sealing itself and sliding back open at certain junctions at the behest of the artificial intelligence.
  • Environment. The interior of the archives are artificially regulated- temperature, atmosphere, even humidity can be shifted to accommodate new scenarios. For the most part this is done to maintain fragile scrolls and other artifacts that are susceptible to outside interference.
  • Sensors. Advanced sensory arrays, for example a com-scan system, CGT and gemcutters, gives it a wide access to readings of systems around it.
  • Modular. Rather than be constructed out of a single piece, the archives have been designed with heavy modularity in mind to accommodate the expansion of knowledge as the Sith Empire and the Saaraishash grow in power. The pieces (one at a time) can lock into one another, until it finally takes the shape of a ring. (This would not exceed the maximum Major Faction meterage limit of 80KM)
Strengths:
  • Fortification: It is well-defended with multiple defensive systems in place to maintain its sanctity. Among them heavy shielding, armor and sensor arrays for advanced warnings.
  • Extensive: Capable of holding and maintaining vast amounts of information and knowledge.
  • Modular: Its design allows it to grow in size as necessary up to the limit described in the advanced systems.
Weaknesses:
  • No weapons: It has no ability to fight back. Instead it has to rely on its defenses and the relative secrecy of its existence to survive.
  • Bantha: It is very slow and usually needs the assistance of a tugboat to move around.
  • Hyperdrive: It has a fast hyperdrive, yes, but it takes time to prepare its jump and that could become a problem during emergency situations. Emergency drops are possible, but they have the potential of damaging the super-structure of the stations if not prepared.
  • Agile: No, not really. It has far less maneuverability than stations its class and that means it can only really tank damage, avoiding it is very difficult for it.
Description: As the strength of the Sith Empire grew across the Outer Rim and Tingel Arm the Lord Inquisitor of the Saaraishash realized that the steady influx of artifacts, secretive knowledge and mysteries were becoming an increasingly larger burden to maintain for the organization. Inspiration was taken from the ancient Sith Emperor's station and other similar fortifications. The result are the Archives of Saarai, a highly autonomous space sanctuary used to maintain and store all shreds of knowledge the Empire gathers during their many conquests.

Access to the sanctuary is highly restricted, its existence even more with the majority of its construction done through droids, while some parts were separately constructed through trusted sub-contractors linked to Fa Holdings. The final say for access is limited to the Lord Inquisitor Saarai himself.

The Archives are regulated and maintained by the artificial intelligence only referred to as the Curator.

When asked by the Dark Lord what the purpose of the archives were, Lord Saarai was quite succinct: "The Gulag Plague wiped out millenia of knowledge, I aim to preserve our heritage and knowledge for generations to come. Maintained, curated, disseminated to the worthy alone. The Sith will learn from their past mistakes... even if I have to pull them along screaming."

And so the Archives were made.

There are other places the Saaraishash controls and maintains, but the Archives of Saarai are the epitome of their purpose.

The truth shall not be forgotten.
