LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Ikorra
  • Planetary Features: Thalia is a humid tropical planet with average temperatures between 21 to 32 degrees Celsius, allowing for year round crop growth. Wide open fertile plains cover almost a third of the planet. Among these plains roam large herds of herbivores. These fertile plains give way to tall mountains that are covered thick humid rainforests of towering trees and abundant flora and fauna. Geothermal vents found in these mountains pour steam into the already humid forests, helping generate afternoon rain storms that roll across the plains below. Shallow warm seas that dot the land are flanked by rich marshlands. Pockets of lava fields can be scattered across the planet, casting ash into the air that is carried by the wind and deposited across the land and delivering much needed minerals along with it. Sometimes these lava fields generate ash storms that cover the land in thick gray ash, before it's washed away by the rains. Deep underground are hidden pockets of lava and lava tubes that can rapidly fill. Despite all this, Thalia doesn't suffer from many geological disasters. The planet itself, despite its size, has no real large land predators. Most of Thalia's wildlife is small, most of the vertebrate species being birds.
  • Major Locations:
    • jCZAJF.jpg
    • Temple of Ikona: The inhabitants of Thalia of followers of the Arsenian goddess Ikona. The goddess of agriculture, animal husbandry and fertility. Which only seemed fitting giving Thalia is an agricultural planet. Ikona's temple sits on the edge of the capital city Ikorra. A large building with a hollow interior and an earth worn floor. Villagers gather at the temple in the early morning and evening to mediate in a means to connect further with the planet and the life that surrounds the village.

    • The main communal building of Ikorra is a tall structure of wood and earth sitting in the center of the village. An outer wrapping of wood design is shaped like leaves to give it a more natural design. The lower two floors of the building is where villagers gather for important meetings, gatherings or just to socialize. The upper half building is devoted to the housing and care of younglings. Here they are housed together and learn the ways of their people, but also how care for the crops and animals they live and work with. Outer decks extend from the upper most section of the building. From here, watchers can keep an eye out on the weather, mainly ash storms that blow in from the lava fields.
    • jCdH6b.jpg
    • Rain bringer mountains, as the name suggests, generate ample amounts of rainfall on a daily basis. This rain is then deposited across the valley's and plains below. These mountains are covered in thick humid cloud rainforests and are dotted with geothermal vents. Trees from these forests release immense amounts of water on a daily basis, combined with the water release by thermal vents makes these mountains the wettest forests on the planet. All that water eventually escapes in the form of rain or rivers, feeding the valleys and marshes below.
    • jCySjP.jpg
    • Fields of cinder: A harsh unforgiving landscape where the inferno from deep within the planet meets the surface. Nothing survives out in these fields, as lava breaks through the ground in rivers of red and orange before hardening back up. Yet the fields themselves do bring life in the form of ash storms. These storms are created from large amounts of ash generated by these lava fields and air carried away by the winds. This ash eventually lands on the valleys and mountains across the planet, bringing with it rich minerals. Some storms are big enough to cover the landscape, like a heavy snowfall.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: N/A
  • Immigrated Species: Arsenian
  • Population: [ Choose from: Insignificant roughly around 300
  • Demographics: 100% Arsenian
  • Primary Languages: Avarae
  • Culture: The settlers of Thalia brought much of their culture with them from their home planet of Arsenae, such as many of their stories, beliefs and customs. What sets them apart from their parent planet is their worship and following of the agricultural goddess Ikona. As such, they try to live close to the planet itself, through morning and evening meditation, working the land and always being barefoot so they can be in constant contact with the planet. Homes and buildings are normally made from wood, stone and earth and given a more natural design and feel. Thalians wear loose or close fitting clothing or earthen tones, ones that their not afraid to get dirty from hard work. Most of the younglings on Thalia are orphans. Rather then being sent to an orphanage, some children are sent to Ikorra where they learn to live and work close to the planet. Here they are well taken care of and find a family amongst younglings their own age. Thalians live in a communal society with younglings residing in the main communal building and adults living others throughout the village. Nearly all buildings, except the bath houses, stables and storehouses, reside on stilts. The bath houses are large circular buildings built of stone, brick and covered in a layer of wood planks. Hot water is piped into each bath house from nearby geothermal vents. The ceilings of the bath houses have a large hole cut in the center with a canvas awning overtop, this is to let out excess heat and steam. Being a communal society, nobody has one true job. While some are better at some tasks, everyone lends a hand to help get work done. Most jobs are separated by age or general experience and overseen by the head priestess. Her job is to oversee daily tasks, when to plant and harvest crops, and religious based needs.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Religious commune
  • Affiliation: Arsenae
  • Wealth: Poor, Thalia is an agricultural planet with a very small population. Most of it's goods go to either nearby mining facilities owned by the Arsenians or to Arsenae itself
  • Stability: High. Very little in the way of trouble comes towards the planet of Thalia. The citizens are well and content, while threats such as pirates or raiders are quickly deterred by patrolling Arsenian naval vessels
  • Freedom & Oppression: Thalia is a very free place little to oppress its people. With little existing threats outside the village, many can roam free without much worry. Laws against the more reprehensible crimes, murder and theft for example, do exist on Thalia, but no law exists to suppress any freedoms.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Thalia has no standing military. Rather it relies on troops garrisoned on the nearby planet of Belvore or Arsenae that's one system over. Arsenian naval vessels do patrol the area and perform frequent checks on the planet and its capital.
  • Technology: Slightly below average. The citizens of Thalia tend to stick to their religious beliefs of living close to the planet. This has left a small desire for more modern technology. What does exist on the planet are things such as sole and wind turbines, long range communications and simple water purifiers for emergencies.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Thalia was the second planet in the Thulea system to be settled, the first was the mining world of Belvore. Early surveyors marveled at how rich the land was for agricultural purposes. A far cry from the dying metal rich planet of Belvore. Shortly after the discovery, a few dozen followers of the goddess Ikona settled on the planet, founding the capital Ikorra. For the next ten years they built up a rich farming village that slowly grew in number. Many of the newcomers were orphans sent from the parent planet of Arsenae. A new chance for the younglings to find a place to call home and a family. As the village grew, so did the farms and fields surrounding, which in turn brought newly designed grain haulers to carry their crops to Arsenae or further away. Thalia quickly became a center for followers of Ikona who sought a planet rich in agriculture and the means to live close to the planet itself.

Solid work here! Honestly don't have much I'm going to ask you to look at here, but with what I ask, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Is there a way that you can either link or further clarify what you mean when you say "Religious Communal" for the Government structure?
