- Thalia lava crystals are what some would consider a lightside crystal. When placed in a lightsaber and lit, it has a warm amber color and heat intensity of the average lightsaber. The closer it gets to an object or being that is strong in the darkside of the force, the brighter and hotter the blade grows. Eventually it will reach a point where the blade is a brilliant white and the heat from it is well above average for a normal lightsaber. A heat that will effect anything steeped in the darkside. When wielded by a being who used the darkside of the force, the blade is like a dying ember in a fire and gives very little heat.
- Heat resistance: Thalia crystals have a high resistance to heat, given they are formed in lava tubes and on lava fields of Thalia. This heat resistance also gives them the ability to survive the high heat output when close to a darkside object.
- Not impact resistant: Well capable of resisting extreme heat, Thalia lava crystals can't take high impacts. Making them vulnerable if directly struck.
The lava tubes on Thalia are a dangerous place, filled with lava, heat and extreme pressure. Under these conditions, special crystals have formed. Brilliant amber in color, they seem to glow against the scorched cavern walls. A unique kyber crystal that has formed an attachment to the lightside of the force. When placed in a lightsaber, it glows a warm amber and gives off a comforting heat. When close to someone or something attuned to the darkside of the force, it glows a brilliant white and gives off a high amount of heat beyond the average lightsaber. This heat doesn't effect the wielder or those who walk in the lightside. These crystals are hard to reach, as they are hidden in dangerous lava tubes or lava fields. Any lightside practitioner who visits Thalia may be drawn to these crystals through small pulls in the force. Venturing into these lava tubes can be dangerous, as they can refill quickly and with little warning. Those who follow the gentle tugs of the force and show no fear, are rewarded for their efforts and trust in the force.
