  In every age, it has been the tyrant, the oppressor and the exploiter who has wrapped himself in the cloak of patriotism to deceive the common people. Such was the case of the First Galactic Empire, subservient to the malicious will of the late Darth Sidious. Some worlds prospered under Imperial rule, but many found themselves oppressed under its heel. Over eight centuries later, those wounds are still remembered.
  
  Thaine Kaldan was born on one such world: Burnin Konn. In its prime, Burnin Konn was an Imperial mining planet rich in chromium, dolovite, and kammris used in the construction of Imperial warships. Yet, the miners of Burnin Konn were betrayed by the Empire they served. After the victory at Endor, Burnin Konn was attacked and bombarded as a part of Operation Cinder. Though some families survived and eventually recolonized, they swore never to forget: Don't Trust Imperials.
  
  This was the mindset that Thaine Kaldan grew up with. The Kaldan family were descendants of the original survivors of the Cinder bombardment. Thaine's father, Cenric, was a worker at the reestablished mining facilities. His mother, Sola, ran a local cantina. Both of them taught Thaine how to survive on the harsh world that they made a living on. Each gave lessons on survival, even on how to use a blaster.
  
  Yet, fate would have different plans for Thaine. When he was around 13 years old, a pair of Jedi came to Burnin Konn as a rest stop on their path to Bespin. The pair took notice of young Thaine, and approached his family. The Jedi said that they could sense Force potential in the boy and wished to give him a test. The Jedi offered a puzzle box that only a Force sensitive could unlock. Thaine, through some unknown sense, divined the way to solve the puzzle, showing his connection to the Force.
  
  The Jedi offered to take Thaine and train him to be one of them, but allowed it to be the Kaldan's choice. After much discussion, Cenric believed his son should go with the Order. It was a chance at a much better life and offered the ability to help others. Thus, that day, Thaine became a Padawan.
  
  As a Jedi, Thaine was the student of an Ishi Tib master named Niac Bram. Master Niac was a pragmatic, but kind teacher. For years, he studied under Niac, advancing to the rank of Jedi Knight. Thaine himself followed the path of the Jedi Guardian, believing he should use his talents as a defender of the common people.
  
  As a Knight, Thaine lended his blade to various causes against oppression. Against the Sith Empire, the First Order, and even small-time warlords. He event grew older and was given the rank of Jedi Master. As of late, he was stationed with the Jedi of the Galactic Alliance, offering his knowledge to train the next generations of Jedi Guardians. Yet, he was always watchful of the looming shadow of the so-called "New Imperial Order". When he heard of other Galactic Alliance members branching off to make a new Rebellion, he decided to offer his aid.
  
  Inspired by the Fulcrum agents of begone years, Thaine operates under the codename of "Crux" as he helps coordinate and commence assaults on this new iteration of the Empire. He will not let another Burnin Konn happen under his watch!

  • Master Jedi: Thaine has been trained in the ways of the Jedi. Because of his age and experience, he has attained the rank of Jedi Master and his prowess shows. He has considerable skill as a Jedi Guardian.
  • Wastelander: Having grown up on the hostile wasteland of Burnin Konn, Thaine has knowledge on how to survive in the worst of conditions. Perfect for a new Rebellion hiding out in desolate areas.

  • Old Age: It is no secret that Thaine is getting older. He is nearly at the age of 70 Galactic Standard, and it shows. While no slouch in battle, his body is not what it used to be. He heals slower than more youthful counterparts, and his body is riddled with injuries from a life of wear and tear.
  • Anti-Imperialist: As a descendant of Burnin Konn survivors, Thaine was instilled with a contempt for anything Imperial. He knows their cruelty from history, and has seen it first hand over the years. He would see the destruction of all Imperial claimants, no matter the cost.
