DESCRIPTION

The TF04 Battle Droid; Paladin Pattern was a marvel of modernized engineering and robotics that was developed by the various minds behind the Trade Federation. In secret, this massive interstellar conglomerate tirelessly worked themselves to the bone to develop an advanced battle droid that was capable of matching - or at the very least - combating a Force adherent on the battlefield. This task had proven to be exhaustive, as more often than not, the sorcerous powers of the Force wielder were capable of bending reality to their will, and destroying their opposition without a moment’s hesitation. Such lethal potential couldn’t be countered through what was considered to be conventional means, and thus - in manners similar to the Mandalorians - additional technologies were reverse-engineered or adapted to suit their battle droid’s needs.

The first of these technologies was a rudimentary inclusion, as the Republic Engineering Corporation specialized in advanced robotics and artificial intelligence programming. Through their advancements, the Paladin would be endowed with a sapient and malicious intellect that rivalled even the most advanced supercomputers on the market. While their processing power was significantly limited in comparison, as there was only so much space that the Paladin had - such trivialities mattered little. For, the computational processes of the highly-advanced Battle Droid were capable of employing a collection of predictive algorithms when combating either Jedi or Sith. These very algorithms allowed the Paladin to devise a myriad of strategies and counters in nanoseconds; which held the potential of consigning whatever Force Adherent stood in the Battle Droid’s way to a sudden, and agonizing demise.

Acting as the second set of advancements, the armoured exterior of the Paladin found itself excelling at combating whatever unfortunate Jedi or Sith crossed their path. With the inclusion of cortosis fibres, woven into sections of reinforced duraplast, the highly-advanced battle droid would be capable of withstanding the plasmatic fury of a lightsabre for some time. Naturally, that claim was dependent on how the Force Adherent utilized their signature weapon, as there was a possibility of breaching these defensive barriers and striking at the soft interior sections of the Paladin. However, as the Battle Droid was capable of enduring a selection of blows from a lightsabre, alongside other - unmentioned offences - it was likely that the Force Adherent would either be dead or too terrified to capitalize on any inflicted gaps in the Paladin’s armoured frame.

While the lethality of the Battle Droid was marginal, without a selection of external weaponry, the Paladin was outfitted with several integrated systems - making them a proverbial nightmare for anyone that got within close proximity. The first of these weapon systems were the integrated palm lasers, which acted as a secondary ranged weapon whenever their articulated hands were free. These lasers held the potential of being concentrated through a collection of micronized emitters, effectively turning the palm laser into a pseudo-plasma torch that allowed these Battle Droids to carved through armoured bulkheads with relative ease. The same method could also be applied to any Force Adherent that had the unfortunate pleasure of being caught within the Paladin’s grasp.

To further add to the highly-advanced Battle Droid’s lethality, the Paladin was outfitted with a set of mandible-mounted plasma throwers - which acted as an advanced flamethrower. Utilizing an integrated capsule of ionized tibanna gas and subsequently igniting it, the Paladin would be able to bathe an enemy combatant in a heavily caustic plasma. The concealed emitters would be remotely linked to the Battle Droid’s central computer core, which could adjust the emitted streams of vented gases. This allowed for the plasma thrower to either be heavily concentrated in a single vector or act as an area denial weapon. As these plasma throwers were originally designed to slice through heavily-armoured warships, so that space-capable droids could mount rescue operations, one could only imagine what would happen if a Force adherent was caught on the wrong end of a Paladin’s wroth.

From there, the highly-advanced Battle Droid was outfitted with a concealed toxin emitter - that would supplement the Paladin’s combat abilities. While the payload would likely vary from one model to another, the standard loadout contained some form of neurotoxin that would either seek to kill or paralyze the Paladin’s intended target. Yes, it was more than possible for the Jedi or Sith to filter these toxins out of their system - but to do such a thing whilst a towering Battle Droid is bearing down on their position? It was unlikely even the most skilled of Force adherents could purify their system before they were struck down by the crimson-eyed Paladins.

Making matters worse, the Battle Droid was equipped with a brace of weaponized Gravity Generators in each forearm. Acting in a similar manner to the tensor weaponry favoured by the Squib of Skor II, these gravimetric weapons would batter the defences of an unlucky Force adherent until there was nothing left. While their range was limited and greatly enhanced by a local gravity field, these weapons made the Paladin a truly frightening opponent to tangle with - as they held the potential of either pulping bones - through concentrated artificial gravity - or causing a Force adherent to fight against the increased pressure of a planet’s gravity field. It was possible to make a Jedi or Sith sluggish on the battlefield, which meant that either the Paladin or someone else, could capitalize on the significantly decreased reaction times of the ensnared individual(s.)

And finally, but certainly not least, the Paladin was equipped with a pair of micronized repulsor-jets that increased the lethality of their melee attacks. There was little that could withstand beneath a relentless barrage of repulsor-aided punches, let alone the veritable host of weaponry that was integrated into the highly-advanced battle droid’s frame.

Despite the extreme lethality that the Paladin presented to any and all that stood in its way, there were a few additional systems that made this battle droid truly unique. The first of these supplementary systems was the secondary tensor field generator. While it was capable of assisting the weaponized gravity generators in completing their tasks, this tensor field generator was also capable of keeping the structural integrity of the Paladin intact. When pitted against mechanical foes, Force adherents employ a brutal tactic of crushing their synthetic opposition - rending metal and sensitive equipment into nothing more than crushed blocks of expensive and metallic scrap. With this tensor field, that would activate as soon as such crushing pressures were registered, it was possible for the Paladin to resist the god-like powers of the Jedi and Sith for a time.

Which, in some respects, would be more than enough time to gun down the Force adherent whilst their concentration was fixated on crushing the Paladin whole.

As the second, and wholly experimental additions to the highly-advanced battle droid’s outfit - the Paladin was equipped with a reverse-engineered variant of an ancient singularity projector; which allowed the sapient automaton to fold space around itself and transition between two points. While this technology was experimental in many respects, it allowed for the Paladins to temporarily phase-out of reality for a short measure of time, and reappear elsewhere - or exactly where they “vanished.” This capability greatly expanded the Battle Droid’s toolkit when combating Force adherents who were fond of folding space themselves - as it allowed the Paladin to keep pace, for a short measure of time.

However, as with any experimental technology, there came with it a host of restrictions that limited its usage on the battlefield. Firstly, the time in which a Paladin could be phased was measured in seconds, as the onboard power supply couldn’t support lengthy excursions within their artificially-created pocket dimension. Secondly, there were limitations on how far and where the Battle Droid could travel before they were forced back into normal space. These limitations were wholly dependent on the Paladin’s surroundings, as it was possible to phase back into a wall - or similar obstacle - and be terminated by the ever-shifting nature of the battlefield. If, for some reason, the highly-advanced battle droid phased into an organic being… it was likely that the organic being couldn’t withstand the transition, and would coat the exterior of the Paladin’s dark-armoured plating.

Despite the potential failures and drawbacks that this system presented, the Paladin would only stand to benefit from its inclusion. Nevertheless, the TF04 Battle Droid would become the most advanced battle droid on the market, and the prolific Jedi and Sith hunter(s) in the known galaxy.

Goodness, you've cooked up quite the battle droid here; very capable indeed, but nothing wrong with that. Insert generic comments about it being no excuse to call hits, insert boilerplate reassertion that "conventional stealth systems" should be considered in light of its Production Rating.

Approved.
