Terrors of Tatooine: Between Sand and Sky

Tee snapped off a shot that missed, and then ducked back as the remaining thugs returned fire. The droid was half way to the ship when the ground beneath it erupted in a shower of sand as the beast emerge, jaws wide open.
Point at the droid. "Take the shot!"
Verz rifle blazed once, twice, finally hitting the droids power core on the third shot jaws slammed shut and it swallowed the droid. Seconds later a massive explosion ripped the beast from the inside out. Spraying bones and guts all over the sandy area.
Whooping in delight Tee charged at the remaining two goons while they were still stunned. Seeing that they were outmatched they raised their hands in surrender.
Point at the droid. "Take the shot!"

Verz laughed in relief. He walked over to the surrendering thugs. He called over to Tee,
"Should we take prisoners?"
"Should we take prisoners?"

"I don't see it necessary to kill when we don't need to but its your call, boss."

"No prisoners. The huutune showed no mercy, and neither shall I. You" He said, pointing at the two thugs, "have ten minutes to pray to whatever gods you believe in."

Their cries for mercy were quickly silenced by the rapid crack of Tee's rifle and then they were alone on the desert sand.

Verz looked up,trying to determine the time of day.

Based on the position of the suns in the sky it was roughly 3 hours past the hour of noon. Between the two of them they could haul some barrels to the ship and make it to Anchorhead to lay low for awhile.

"Let's get a barrel or two of water and make it toa settlement. R3, track me so you know where I am."

It took them a while to haul the water and crates back to the ship that by the time they were finished night had fallen, cloaking the desert in shadow. Fortunately the beast had driven away all the nearby inhabitants so no one bothered them as they finished up. Flying low they made it to Anchorhead without incident with the electronics and two crates of spice.
Selling the spice alone on the black market would cover the cost for repairing his ship with a nice tidy sum left over. As for the electronics and the data pad, well those would require a little more exploration to unlock their secrets. Tee began recruiting and soon word of a new gang was making its way into the scene, only time would tell how big a piece of the pie they would be able to claim for themselves.
