OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: Temple of the Resolute
  • Classification: Outpost
  • Location: Ciomia
  • Affiliation: The Matukai
  • Population: Insignificant
  • Demographics: Could be any species, but only Matukai are present.
  • Accessibility: Because of the nature of Ciomia being nearly impossible to reach unless you've been there before, and because the planet is constantly dealing with intense electrical storms which have forced the population to live in a single city, this location is quite private and well-hidden deep within the Ciomia forest where many ships have crashed over the years. The forests are also extremely dangerous, which discourages others from wandering within them.
  • Description: The base is a wrecked cargo hauler that was previously used for hauling illicit cargo, as evidenced by the empty crates that still sit in many of the rooms within the ship. The model is ancient, and heavily disfigured to the point it's unrecognizable, even from the outside.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • The Training Room: Once the ships cargo bay, it has largely been cleared though many large crates, too large to be moved by hand it would seem, remain littered around the room. The floors have been covered over with a durable material that has a small amount of padding so falls won't severely injure anyone. The walls are the standard durasteel that they were before the ship crashed, but additional lighting has been installed in the walls and ceiling to give the room plenty of light.
  • The Mess Hall: It used to be the ship's galley, but it's been redone with much newer materials to make it far more comfortable than it used to be. It's small, so cooking for a large group of people is out of the question, but it fits the small number of Matukai that are usually staying there. There's no cooking droid, either. Everything is self-serve.
  • Meditation Chambers: Several of the old crew quarters have been emptied out, stripped of everything extraneous, given a lighter coat of paint, and had several plants in vases placed within. Along with light ambient lighting and white noise generators, the rooms have been made suitable for individual meditation.
  • Dormitories: They used to be the old crew quarters, the ones not converted into meditation chambers. They aren't the most comfortable of places, but they're individual user and private.
  • The Library: Holocrons and texts are stored in the old sensors room, along with the sensor jammer which still functions. Most of what's available within the library came from the Temple of Awakening, a Jedi temple located in a much larger ruined vessel within Ciomia's temperate forests.
  • The Bridge: The ship's bridge is buried deep in the dirt after the vessel slammed face-first into the forest years ago. Darkened by the lack of light through the windows, the room has been turned into a lounge, complete with a self-serve bar and a droid that can play any type of music someone wants to hear, all stored on data files in its head.
  • The Armory: The ships old armory has been relinquished of its blaster weaponry and replaced with a variety of polearms, including training ones with padding for weapons. No personal blaster weapons are stored on the ship.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Ciomia is known as a planet that's hard to get to. It only has one major occupied area, and that's the city of Theron. It's regarded as the only place on the planet, with a few small exceptions, where people can live safely. In large part, this is due to the storms that constantly rack the planet, but it's also due to the presence of a wide variety of flora and fauna that are hostile to anyone venturing out among them. Leaving the safety of the city or one of the few other small habitations is literally taking one's life in their hands. It's a gamble and most people don't risk it, which is why most of the wilds of Ciomia remain uncharted and unexplored.

Because the planet is surrounded by a large asteroid field and two nebulae, making it nigh impossible to reach without a local guide or someone that's been there before, many ships have crashed into the world over the years. One of those is the wreckage of the Ridge Rider, a cargo hauler that was previously owned by a small band of smugglers who hadn't really been given the chance to make a name for themselves before they crashed on Ciomia. When the ship was eventually discovered by Ever Dawnracer, it was completely abandoned. The bodies of a couple of the crew members, a zabrak and a bothan, were discovered in the ship's bridge, where they seemingly died on impact. No other bodies were found in the ship, and it was presumed that the remainder of the crew was lost to the forest. The zabrak and bothan were both cremated on funeral pyres.

The ship was generally in good condition on the interior, and a little work refurbishing it did the body good. In the end, much of the ship was repurposed for expected needs, though many places within the ship remain in the same condition they were in after the ship crashed years ago. The power cells were replaced, the sensor jammer turned on, along with ray shields to protect it should enemies discover its location. Internal defensive turrets and blast doors were set to respond to particular codes to be turned off or on when the facility is vacant or occupied. Only the jammer and shields are always working.

It creates a cozy little retreat for the weary Matukai, or those looking to be trained, but isn't likely to be stumbled across. Finding the temple is only for those who are brought to it.
