Appearance: Teela is a young, petite rutian blue twi’lek female with darker blue markings on her lekku and back similar to stripes. She has a short statured svelte build, standing around one hundred fifty two centimeters and weighing around forty two kilograms with faint muscle definition on her limbs and torso. She has mid-length lekku, extending down past her shoulder, emerald green eyes that contrast nicely to her blue colored skin. She wears a traditional Twi’lek headdress with silver ornamentation and crest upon brown leather straps.

Teela normally wears practical clothing, such as trousers, button-down shirts, and simple blast vestshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Blast_vest for protection while flying across the galaxy or visiting the seedier parts of the galaxy’s underworld. Sometimes she’ll use a Shadowsuit to sneak around secure locations, or wear fancy clothing to attend formal events she is sometimes invited, sometimes lets herself into.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
Name: Teela LaRoche | Dilnahi
Loyalties: Independent | The Hutt Cartels | The Resistancehttp://starwarsrp.net/forum/2243-the-resistance/
Wealth: Teela maintains a small personal fortune, enough to pay most of her bills, splurge on extravagant vacations, and waste money gambling while ensuring she is never broke. She could likely retire comfortably if she didn’t burn through her money so callously.

Notable Possessions:
Starhopperhttps://www.artstation.com/artwork/DDEDo
RSIC-11 “Suncrusher”http://starwarsrp.net/topic/139098-rsic-11-suncrusher-blaster-pistol/
DX Assassin Droidhttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Defenestrator

Skills: Teela has a vast knowledge of the inner workings of the underground, knowing how to traverse it and having connections in several organized crime syndicates. She’s considered the favorite smuggler employed by one of the Hutt Cartel members and knows when to name drop, grease palms, and cut deals to get what she wants from the criminal class. She also has knowledge of how to research patrols, fake papers and ship identifications, and bypass security. Teela is a semi-skilled slicer and can hotwire security doors and droids with some success.

Teela is an average pilot, hardly a starfighter ace, but she has a few tricks in her pocket that she can pull when in need. Her knowledge of hyperspace routes and her ability to maneuver around and through treacherous space is what actually makes her a good smuggler, the ability to avoid patrols or pass through inspection fine when necessary allow her to deliver her cargo without having to go in guns blazing.

Personality: The Twi’lek smuggler is confident to the point of arrogance, extremely coy and flirtatious, possesses a sarcastic sense of humor, and is somewhat of a narcissist. Teela is naturally suave in public, possessing a silver tongue, cool demeanor, and light fingers. For those she considers friends, she’s willing to put herself in danger for, though she normally expects some form of compensation for her efforts. She won’t gouge them, but Teela can’t eat for free everywhere and expects them to know she’s not exactly riding on easy street. She’s not above using her species attractive nature as a method to get what she wants, and she’s known for playing dirty in almost everything she does.

Teela has a good heart, being compassionate and kind to the less fortunate, though she often hides it well. She likes helping the innocent when she can, even willing to do free transportation and missions when she can afford it. She’ll even volunteer for missions that free enslaved people whenever possible, though she’s not actually opposed to the practice as a whole. When push comes to shove, she is unlikely to do harm upon the innocent, but she’s also got a mean streak in her. She’s been called ruthless on occasion, not hesitating to kill or maim her opponents, having even been willing to torture.

COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon of Choice: Wits | Looks | Blaster
Combat Function: For the most part, Teela does her best to avoid combat. Bat her eyelashes at the right guard, flirt with a Hutt crime boss, bribe the right bureaucrat, slice a few security systems, or do the odd favor for the right government all to keep under the radar and pass through security without having to blast her way through. However, when combat does come, she’s surprisingly good with a pistol, shooting from the hip.

Strengths:
  • Gunslinger: Teela possesses fast hands off the draw and a good eye, accurate enough when she shoots from the hip.
Weaknesses:
  • Lekku: Like most Twi’leks, her lekku are delicate organs, susceptible to damage and sensitive enough that being forcefully grabbed can incapacitate her. Furthermore damage to them can cause permanent psychological trauma as well as physical.
  • Petite: Teela has a petite build, and she isn’t the size person you’d expect to use a cannon or run off with a heavy crate. Her small frame comes with its own physical limitations, even though she’s in good physical condition.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Teela LaRoche was born on Nal Hutta outside the city of Jiguuna among the poor and downtrodden who resided in the swamplands in small shanty towns. Her father was a beggar who occasionally found work in the city that would lead him away for days at a time, and her mother worked for terrible wages at a water treatment plant on the outskirts. Her mother had been a slave dancer in her own youth, never truly earning her freedom. She had scarred her own face and body to escape that life, working long hours and sacrificing her health to ensure they could survive off meager scraps if need be as a slave worker. Teela spent her youth as a street urchin, begging, pick-pocketing and later slicing credit chits to help her parents make ends meet.

When she was a teenager, she decided to leave the polluted cesspool of a planet the Hutts called home, desiring to leave Hutt Space far behind her. She stole and scavenged enough money to book passage off-world but didn’t make it out of Hutt Space. She spent the trip gambling, showing a talent for Sabbaac as well as a habit for over-extending her reach, often losing in the end after refusing to quit when luck had left her. When she ran out of money, she was dropped off on Jilrua and made to survive on the arid planet. Fortunately the young twi’lek was able to work as waitress or bartender at several cantinas, where she began robbing from the business and pickpocketing very drunk customers as much as she could, saving up her money in the hopes she would once again be able to escape and improve her conditions. She also picked up on listening, passing rumors and secrets to rivals for tips and using her unconventional methods to settle debts.

She began to hear stories working at the bar from the spacers that came through about their tales as pilots, freighter captains, and smugglers, roaming the stars without a care in the world. Teela managed to save enough money to book passage, in between squandering most of her savings gambling and drinking, but instead lost a bet with an Arcona smuggler who as part of the bet, took her on as a second-mate. The trio broke across Hutt Space, running spice where Teela learned the trade, the Arcona even taught the young Twi’lek how to fly, though she lacked the natural talent he possessed. For them, they stayed away from the big scores and preferred to take the easier jobs with steady pay, which worked well for Teela as she could always rely on another pay out to cover her losses when she gambled.

Two years as a second mate and Teela managed not to save a nickel, and her captain fell into a salt addiction. For a time, she thought nothing of it, letting him have his indulgence and she hers, but it was not to be. In order to buy more salt, he sold Teela to Kagula the Hutt for far less than she knew she would have been worth at auction. She felt less betrayed as she did insulted by the Arcona having sold a top prize thoroughbred for the price of a pack mule, however her new master was not like she had expected. The Hutt of course put her to work as a dancer, but quickly realized her many other talents. She was able to evade, bribe, or blackmail her way through the palace in short order, gaining access to some of his accounts by flirting her way through his accountant and vault guards.

Kagula was furious, having her dragged into his throne room unceremoniously. He began roaring about failure, deceit, and theft but he turned his ire towards his accountant rather than Teela. Kagula revealed he was much more impressed by her ability to move through his palace with impunity and steal from him as a lowly slave girl than he was mad at her for doing so. He executed his accountant but offered her a deal. If she would work for him, she would be freed, paid, and forgiven of her sleights against him so long as she never stole a cent from him again. Teela of course agreed immediately, being gifted with more credits than she had ever seen only to realize after she had bought a ship and gambled away the rest that it was much more a loan than a gift. Kagula ordered her to begin smuggling to pay off her debts to him, occasionally selling him information when she had it until her debt was manageable. Because of her coy attitude and arrogant demeanor, Teela quickly became his favorite which only played to her benefit.

She found that working in Imperial Space paid better, and allowed her to take on additional jobs so she could make money on the side of her repaying Kagula. Her unique skill set and knowledge of the underworld allowed her to come and go from Sith Imperial space with relative ease, as every space port had bureaucrats that could be convinced to look the other way if you knew how to get it done. Her natural affinity for knowing who could be bribed, who would have to be blackmailed to get her way and navigate the criminal underground.

Nicely detailed smuggler! I like the little tidbits of personality and the more "gritty" notes about her addictions and issues with money. It really made her pop off the page.

Great work - Approved.
