OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To update an old sub which fleshes out a companion character for Daiya
  • Image Credit: Original image by BlueSunset2006 (Deviantart), Photoshop by me
  • Role: Partner and guardian of Daiya
  • Permissions: Permission for Giggles
  • Links: N/A
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 287
  • Force Sensitivity: No
  • Species: Wookiee
  • Appearance: Tawrrowaldr is your average Wookiee at first glance. Over two meters tall, shaggy, covered with long, curly, dark-brown hair, and, yes, quite furry. His pelt covers decades of scars and old injuries that still mark his skin, the only evidence of which can be seen through his tired, brown eyes. He usually wears a sash slung over his left shoulder, and tied at his waist, on which hangs a broken device once used to translate his native barks and growls into Basic.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Tawrrowaldr
  • Aliases: "Tawrro," Lieutenant Colonel (or just Colonel), Elder
  • Loyalties: Daiya, Shenn Rosham
  • Wealth: Having served as a soldier for many years, as well as an elder of his people, Tawrrowaldr has accrued a decent stockpile of funds. He also takes money for doing mercenary work. While most of his funds go back to his family on Kashyyyk, or to paying for his and Daiya's livelihood, he has had money to purchase some luxuries such as a ship.
  • Notable Possessions:
    • A broken transliterator, fitted to a sash that Tawrrowaldr wears. This once enabled him to communicate with species in Basic, even if they do not understand Shyriiwook. Now he relies on Daiya or anyone else who understands his language.
    • A sash, slung from his left shoulder to right hip, that still carries the rank emblem his son wore when he died, as well as Tawrrowaldr's transliterator device.
    • Giggles, a fully automatic, belt fed 12 gauge shotgun
    • The Adiona, a starship shared between him and Daiya
  • Skills:
    • Military Operations - Tawrrowaldr has decades of experience as a soldier and can carry out most any military operation. His notable strengths here reside in assaults and weaponry, a role most often referred to as a 'tank'.
    • Strategist - Tawrrowaldr commanded other military personnel in battle, and has exhibited prowess in strategy. This applies off the battlefield as well, and Tawrrowaldr's strategic thinking has saved him more than once.
    • Wandering Mercenary - Willing to take most any job that pays well, Tawrrowaldr is no stranger to mercenary work. He has personal qualms about harming children, however.
    • Commanding Presence - Both his years of command experience in the military, and the consequence of his birth as a Wookiee, Tawrrowaldr has a habit for getting others to follow orders. This makes him an ideal commander and leader.
  • Personality: Wookiees are fancied to be limb-tearing warriors by most, but the few who know them intimately are certain of this untruth. Tawrrowaldr is no exception, and despite his years as a soldier, he neither yearns for battle nor revels in its awe-some destructive power. He is patient, tempered by his years laboring for the Empire as a slave, and his determination sprouts from the same vein. Life is a precious commodity, and even as easily as he discards it for various employers, Tawrrowaldr respects its value. The lives of his family and friends are placed on a higher platform than his own, and he would gladly give his for theirs. That inclination rings especially true when considering the death of his son.

Although serving for many years on his home planet as a Council Elder, and raising a family, Tawrrowaldr is very much a solitary soul. He is perfectly content to wander on his own, seeking help from few, if any. Companions and partnerships are usually out of mutual benefits, and true friends are few and far between. Children, of any species, have a warm place in his heart, as he still thinks fondly of his own remaining children. Tawrrowaldr will not despair should separation from companions be necessary for survival.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Giggles, a fully automatic, belt fed 12 gauge shotgun
  • Combat Function: Tawrrowaldr is a trained and skilled soldier, someone who would be an equal foe on the battlefield for a small group of average combatants. His main role in combat, however, would be protecting Daiya or other members of any team he's on. His days as a true soldier are long over, and he isn't interested in drawn out conflicts or fighting in battles.
Strengths:
  • Strategic Powerhouse - Besides his physical prowess, Tawrrowaldr has decades of experience in military operations, advancing from the lowliest soldier to a Lieutenant Colonel. Despite the defeat in his final mission, Tawrrowaldr has led troops to victories countless times. This has given him knowledge of the inner workings of the military, and expertise in strategy and logistics, as well as experience with the general conditions of war.
  • Force of Will - Tawrrowaldr's willpower is much like an iron battlement, strong and greatly resisting attacks, although like much iron it is brittle and when pushed beyond its strength, his will can collapse. Like a great castle, his will can hold him steadfast against the arguments and attacks of his opponents, but also requires a great deal of time to rebuild. Even though this is true, his willpower is still one of Tawrrowaldr's greatest strengths.
Weaknesses:
  • Temper, Temper - Although not aggressive or foolhardy for violence, Tawrrowaldr does have a temper. He has a high tolerance for improprieties or insults, especially with friends. An argument can be mended with a little time, a rift by a little hard work. Yet when pushed beyond tolerances, his temper bears a short fuse and will ignite almost instantly. Like a true explosive, silent and unnoticeable until triggered, when it explodes.
  • Protective Capacity - Taking guardianship of Daiya is a vulnerability Tawrrowaldr hasn't experienced in a long time, a situation he was ill-prepared for by his years as a military commander. His unwillingness to see harm inflicted upon her makes him risk-averse and overprotective, a facet that grates upon his young charge but would be even more grating as a weapon used against him. Should she be placed in a dangerous situation or actively threatened, he would go to no ends to see it resolved in her favor, no matter the cost.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
  • Tawrrowaldr was enslaved by the Empire during his early years and worked in a hard labor camp.
  • He survived an outbreak of the virus in the camp and escaped.
  • Once free, he fought with rebels, and later for governments, eventually becoming known for his military prowess.
  • He became an elder of his tribe at a very young age.
  • When an outbreak threatened his homeworld, Tawrrowaldr argued for decisive action, even if it was unsettling.
  • Tawrrowaldr left after the Elder Council refused to act, and escaped the plague on Kashyyyk.
  • For several decades, Tawrrowaldr fought in a few other conflicts, and was eventually joined by one of his surviving sons.
  • At the conclusion of a long, drawn out battle, Tawrrowaldr and his forces were forced to retreat, but not before his son was lost to an enemy bomb.
  • Tawrrowaldr resigned from the military and went back home.
  • He tried serving on the Elder Council once more, but the elders were bitter by his earlier parting and he soon left.
  • Leaving Kashyyyk, Tawrrowaldr began to wander the galaxy, serving as a mercenary.
  • After making too many enemies, he eventually settled on Denon to avoid his enemies, and worked odd jobs.
  • On one such job, Tawrrowaldr saved a human girl named Daiya, and took her in as a ward.
  • Eventually, Daiya became an associate of his, and then a partner in his mercenary work.
  • When Daiya found herself in trouble, he arranged for them to leave Denon to keep her safe.
  • Now he travels with Daiya, keeping them alive and out of trouble as best he can.

While I have the original image saved, I can't tell you where it came from. I found it via a Google Image search for cosplaying Wookiees, and a reverse image search doesn't locate it. Nor does a manual search. It might be gone from the Internet now.

I added a descriptive appearance, however.
