Taris Trading Company
The Taris Trading Company was established during the closing years of the Great Hyperspace Wars that had recently ravaged the Galaxy. A merchantile organization, it focused on the accumulation of wealth and the transport of trade goods to and from Taris via the established Hyperspace Routes in the area. Its primary focus is the uplifting of the Tarisian People and ensuring that the planet has the means to once again rival the Galactic Core of Coruscant that it once held prior to its destruction during the Sith Wars at the hands of Malek.
Taris sits upon the precipice and it will only be through the actions of the Tarisian People and the commissioned directorate will the planet be saved from the ash heap of history. As crime begins to rise once more while the wounded armies of galactic governments slowly recover, it is only the people of Taris that can save themselves and their planet. The Taris Trading Company has already begun to take action as new warships and cargo freighters begin to slip their moorings and strike out into the Galaxy.
It is the Commissioned Directorate that has made the decision to rise Taris up from the ashes and establish it once more as a prominent power on the Galactic Stage via the use of wealth and trade rather than brute force and war. Taris will become a shining city upon a hill by building up those around it and establishing a system of factories and forts to further extend their reach and project their power into the Galaxy.
OOC: The Taris Trading Company is an idea that was realized during a recent stint with Skyrim and draws inspiration from the East Empire Company as well as the East India Company, and the Dutch East India Company. The faction also looks back into Chaos History and the successful Omega Protectorate that had once carved out its own domain in the South Systems of the Map. Where the Taris Trading Company seeks to establish itself from others is in the containment of its idea, being a singular company rather than a league or collection of corporations.
The Commissioned Directorate would act in a similar role to a Board of Directors, with each individual being responsible for a singular aspect much like a governmental cabinet. Beneath this leadership role would be the other branches of the faction such as the Military Arm and Merchants. This would also include a force sect inspired by the Psijic Order and the Prophecies of Kalistrade, in which the force sect would be more hands-off in affairs compared to the Jedi or Sith.
