You're welcome to submit an NPC dragon through the codex. However, I usually specify they can't be used against PC characters, because sure, an AA gun can shoot one down, but how often has that actually happened, hmm?

As for canon. As I tell my Codex Judges, Legends Canon is full of confoundingly stupid things, and I tell them not to shackle themselves to every last 1980s comic strip and kids TV episode. Look at what is fair to use, I tell them, and make judgements from there.

If one can come up with a plausible, back up reason that their character/species came into being, I don't think it is right to stop them. Opinion is opinion. I don't think there is really any reason other than how you feel, to ban or except the dragon as a species, but I do think it is going far to say that a dragon wouldn't exist in the Star wars universe. Like I said before there are far stranger creatures. Some people don't want a normal class. That is like asking an artist to draw something normal.

You misunderstand. I was questioning the plausibility of it in the first place.

But whatever. Like I said, i f he wants to roleplay a semi-sentient character, have at it. Knock yourself the heck out. In my experience, the greater special snowflake status of the character/race is inversely proportional to the writer's muse and ability to actually stick with the idea.
