Description: The Tambor-class foreman droid is named after the historical Foreman of the Techno Union, Wat Tambor. Thanks to its highly advanced programming, it can not only detect weaknesses and defects in equipment, it can also detect inefficiencies in its use, using a database of industrial processes to determine the best practices based on experience. Special equipment allows a Tambor to run diagnosis checks in equipment to ascertain the source of a problem, and even have a limited ability to perform repairs provided the proper external equipment, using a retractable arm deployed from the center eye. Six sensors, ranging from the thermal to the ultraviolet, allows it to perform such detection tasks. Unfortunately such advanced programming, using machine learning, artificial common sense and fuzzy logic, results in the Tambor developing quirky personalities to the point it becomes parasitic. Of course, the Tambor is bound by a modified version of the Laws of Droids:
- A Tambor may not injure a sentient, or allow, through inaction, a sentient to come to harm, unless the targeted sentient is hostile to the CIS.
- A Tambor must obey the orders given to it by a sentient unless such action conflicts with the First Law.
- A Tambor must protect its own existence unless such action conflicts with the First or Second Laws.
