OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: 18 (Decreased)
  • Force Sensitivity: Apprentice
  • Species: Mirialan
  • Appearance:
Talyen Dross, a young Mirialan apprentice, bears pale green skin patterned with sparse black geometric tattoos—early markings of achievement and discipline. His frame is lean and wiry, built more for speed and precision than brute force, with sharp amber eyes that hold both curiosity and restless ambition. Dark, cropped hair frames his angular features, giving him an intensity that belies his youth.
His Jedi robes are modest and functional: a tan tunic tucked into fitted brown trousers, a simple overshirt, and dark boots dusted from travel. A lightweight cloak hangs at his back, frayed at the edges from long treks into forgotten ruins. At his belt rests not one, but two lightsabers—slim hilts crafted with understated design. When drawn together, the pair define his unorthodox style, emphasising fluidity and relentless pressure in combat. Even at rest, the dual weapons mark him as someone unwilling to settle into tradition, chasing mastery on his own terms.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Talyen Dross
  • Loyalties: The Galactic Alliance
  • Wealth: Average wealth, but no longer due to being deceased.
  • Notable Possessions: Twin lightsabers, Jedi apprentice robes, A single ceremonial earring from his family.
  • Skills:
  • Lightsaber Skills
    • Jar'Kai Dual-Wielding (Primary Focus):
Talyen specialized in Jar'Kai, wielding both lightsabers simultaneously. His style was fast, aggressive, and meant to overwhelm opponents with relentless strikes, though it often left him open to counterattacks from more patient duelists.
    • Shien/Djem So (Secondary Influence):
He incorporated elements of Shien and Djem So, turning his off-hand saber into a defensive tool while the other pressed heavy offense. This gave him versatility in deflecting blaster fire and counterstriking, but his lack of mastery made transitions between offense and defense uneven.
    • Ataru (Mobility-Driven Flourish):
His youth and agility made him favor acrobatics—leaping strikes, rapid spins, and unpredictable angles. However, his reliance on speed could betray him in prolonged fights against durable or disciplined opponents.
  • Force Abilities
    • Telekinesis (Push, Pull, and Grip):
Trained in the basics of Force Push and Pull, with some refinement in hurling debris or dragging foes off balance mid-duel. His ambition led him to experiment with Force Grip, though it was unrefined.
    • Force Sense (Heightened Awareness):
Mirialans are naturally attuned to the Force, and Talyen honed his ability to sense danger, opponents' intentions, and hidden pathways—though his eagerness sometimes drowned out patience in interpreting what he sensed.
    • Force Speed / Agility:
Talyen amplified his natural agility through the Force, enhancing his dual-wielding style with bursts of speed. His sudden dashes and evasions made him hard to predict, but drained his stamina quickly.
    • Tutaminis (Limited):
He had begun experimenting with redirecting or absorbing energy (basic blaster fire), but lacked the control to use it reliably in battle.
  • Languages: Basic, and Huttese
  • Personality:
Talyen was bold, idealistic, and driven—qualities that made him a natural fit for the Jedi Order, but also a dangerous apprentice to train. He carried himself with quiet confidence and determination, always eager to prove himself worthy of becoming a Knight. His Mirialan heritage gave him a strong sense of destiny and spiritual duty, and he often spoke of "signs" or "patterns" in the Force guiding his actions.
Beneath his discipline, however, burned a streak of impatience. Talyen was ambitious, always striving to go further, to master more, and to claim knowledge others believed beyond his station. He disliked being underestimated, particularly when compared to older Padawans or Knights, and sometimes pushed himself recklessly to show his strength. This stubbornness often put him at odds with Xerothan Valekorr, whose calm and shadowed wisdom frustrated him—he felt she held back truths that he had a right to know.

Talyen had a noble heart at his core, caring deeply for others and wanting to protect them, but this was tied to his pride. He wanted to be the one to save others, to achieve victories, to claim artifacts or relics of power in the name of the Jedi. It was this blend of altruism and pride that led to his downfall in the Sith ruins—his desire to retrieve the holocron wasn't for greed, but to prove himself as more than just an apprentice.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Two Standard Lightsabers
  • Combat Function: When in combat Talyen's combat style was aggressive, mobile, and unconventional—relying on dual-saber flourishes, quick strikes, and Force-enhanced agility. However, his overreliance on speed and ambition to prove himself often left him exposed. In the Sith ruin where he met his end, his determination to claim the holocron likely pushed him into traps and challenges beyond his level, his twin sabers flashing bravely but ultimately failing against overwhelming ancient defenses.
  • Force Abilities (Force Users Only): Force Push / Pull, Force Jump / Leap, Force Sense, Force Speed, Force Awareness, Force Valor (basic), Force Empathy, Mind Trick (rudimentary), Tutaminis (limited energy absorption), Force Stun (basic)
Strengths:
  • Dual-Wield Mastery – Skilled with two lightsabers, allowing rapid, unpredictable attacks that can overwhelm opponents.
  • Agile and Adaptive – Highly nimble and able to dodge or counter attacks quickly, making him difficult to hit.
  • Strong Force Affinity – Adept at sensing danger, manipulating the environment, and using basic Force powers to complement his combat style.
Weaknesses:
  • Overconfidence – Tends to underestimate dangers or overreach when pursuing powerful artifacts or opponents.
  • Inexperience – As a young apprentice, he lacks the deeper tactical knowledge and restraint of a full Jedi Knight.
  • Impulsiveness – Quick to act on instinct or emotion, which can leave him exposed to traps or manipulative schemes.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Talyen Dross, a Mirialan with sharp green skin and intricate facial tattoos, had trained under Master Xerothan Valekorr as a dual-bladed lightsaber apprentice. Agile, quick-thinking, and ambitious, he carried a curiosity that often pushed him to test limits beyond his experience. When rumors of a lost Sith holocron reached them, Talyen and Xerothan journeyed together to the ruins, navigating the crumbling corridors and trap-laden halls of the ancient temple.

As they reached the heart of the ruins, Talyen's excitement overcame caution. He lunged toward the holocron, attempting to seize it for himself. With a quiet, precise use of the Force, Xerothan silently pulled the holocron into her grasp, leaving Talyen unprepared. Traps—long dormant and insidious—sprang to life beneath his feet, forcing him into a deadly fall. Xerothan remained composed, observing as her apprentice's ambition led to his demise. Upon returning to the Jedi Council, she reported solemnly that both Talyen and the holocron had been destroyed within the ancient ruins, masking the truth of her calculated choice. The young Mirialan's death became a cautionary tale of ambition, while Xerothan retained the artifact, her own pursuit of knowledge undisturbed.
