- Fast: Talon droids can move very quickly, closing the gap with enemies even over rough and vertical terrain. They are also able to jump considerable distances, making them lethal in dense urban areas.

- Weak points: To aid in agility, the abdominal section and neck of the droid are very lightly armored and can be destroyed by many hand held weapons.
- Ranged weapons: The Talon cannot engage targets in ranged combat as it is unable to carry or operate ranged weapons.
The Talon Combat Droid has a reputation of being one of the most effective and versatile melee combat droids available to the Contingent. A combination of eight vibroblades and an advanced sensor system allows this droid to fight effectively in several different environments, from urban combat to planetary assaults. Its speed is its greatest asset, allowing it to close the distance between itself and an opponent before engaging in combat.
Despite these advantages, the aggression of the Talon often results in it being destroyed. This is due to its lack of intelligence, which causes it to charge headlong into battle without regard for its own safety. As well, while its armor is tough it doesn't protect all parts of the droid. Its lower torso is the weakest point, along with the neck, which are both vulnerable to pistols, shrapnel and melee weapons.
