Tabula Rasa? Sorta?

"I could," she nodded, "but it wouldn't be the same."

Eyes over to Jason, Madalena smiled. She loved seeing that kid do his thing, even if it meant some of the eggs made it out of their bowl and onto the table. At least the floor was clean this time.

"I should be heading out in about an hour or two," she finally said, "I keep feeling like there's something I'm forgetting though. Like there's something really important to know and I'm not going to remember it until I get to Felacat."

“Well, you’ll just need to go on a few adventures” He would tease. “Mission with me a bit more, aye? It’s always exciting what I do... Usually.”

He shrugged when she said she’d need to be off soon, masking the fact he would sorely miss her company as he looked to see Jason finishing up quickly.

Madalena looked at Josh, her gaze trying to read him. She knew he would miss her. And she would miss him too. The memories came then. Usually, it was Josh who was off for missions, being part of this or other faction group through out most of his life. It was always Madalena and Brayden who waited for him on Coruscant. This would be the first true time that he’d been waiting for her.

“You’re going to get most of my free time,” she said after a long pause, “just because I’m about to go off and join a faction on my own and do stuff, doesn’t mean we stop doing our thing,” she grinned, “besides, the Confederacy is allied with the Silvers. We might end up doing missions together.”

Join a faction? Did she wipe her entire memory of the Confederacy? Would they not remember Scherezade? This seemed like it could only go wrong.

“You’d better” He teased at the free time comment. “Would be nice if we worked together.”

But they had! She had wiped all of that?

"Work together as representatives of different faction, silly," she laughed, "we've already worked together a bunch of times. Don't pretend-"

Madalena closed her eyes, a hand coming to her head. Memories shifted inside of her, quickly working to correct themselves. It felt like a flash of migraine, and by the Force, it was uncomfortable.

When she opened her eyes a few moments later, cold sweat beaded from her forehead, and she wiped it away on the back of her hand. A movement Scherezade had performed so many times, now so identical.

"I mean, joining the Knights. I've already been registered with the Confederacy a few months," she breathed, her other hand going over her stomach again. It must've been the effect of last night's drinking, "and I'm definitely not going to party or drink in the near future. I don't recall ever having this kind of a reaction the day after."

Scherezade had left out some things, it seems. ‘Course. “I’m probably still just kind of-“

Oh. Oh no.

Whatever had just happened seemed to fix that glitch in her memory but the whole thing concerned him. He stared at her a moment, thinking maybe the plan was already falling apart at the seams. “Aye, best to lay off” He would suggest. At least this way maybe she wouldn’t die from alcohol poisoning.

All she could do was nod in agreement before getting up to retrieve a water pitcher from the fridge. Without asking Josh, she got a tall glass for him as well, and poured the water. Her own glass, she downed in a mere few seconds before refilling it. Force, she was thirsty.

"I'll call you after the interview," Madalena said, "let you know how it went. If they turn out to be buttholes and tell me I'm not welcome there, I might just run off and join the Silvers anyway."

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"]

“Well, I won’t say I’d be opposed to you joining” He teased as he would gratefully take the glass, motioning toward Jason as if to ask if she could pour him something while she was up. He could tell she was definitely thirsty... Probably hadn’t drank anything but alcohol in months. Was a wonder she was still alive, force user or not. That was just not how bodies worked. They could last awhile but... Not like this.

“I’m sure you’ll do fine. Otherwise, there’s a division in the Silvers that might fit you perfectly. You always had a thing for the bizarre and the strange after all” He cracked, shooting her a cheeky grin. “Looking into those matters sounds like your thing “

Madalena opened one of her kitchen cabinets, pulling a little sippy cup for Jason, and filled it with water before setting it in front of him, giving his head a small pat while she was at it.

"I did," she admitted as she took her seat back, "but Brayden was always better at it." Madalena sighed. It had only been a handful of months, but she missed her brother sorely. Still, she held no ill feelings towards him. They had made that decision together. Besides, he probably missed her as well. They'd been nearly inseparable throughout most of their lives. "But I was always better at kicking Brayden's behind," she added with a wicked grin.

Josh would smile, giving Madalena a little kissy face expression in his own brand of thanks as he would look toward Jason, who had taken the sippy cup and begun to drink from it, though Josh tipped it lightly to the side when he started spilling it on the floor, just trying to get it into proper position so he wasn’t continuing to spill it.

He laughed a bit at her remarks. He had an innuendo there but... “I’m aware you’re great with a weapon” He teased. “Still have much to learn though.”

Madalena nodded. "Always," she agreed, "even when I get better than you at it, I'll need to practice and become better still."

It was a path that didn't leave much room for idleness. If she ever went idle with her training, her end would be similar to Coruscant's, sooner or later. There was only that much a pretty smile could get out of.

"But that's a good thing," she added after short consideration, "it means I'm always going to be active, on the move. Whatever enemies I'll make, they'll have to use considerable force to slow me down."

[member="Josh DragonsFlame"]

“I’d need to stop training for you to do that” Josh teased with a light smirk. He did not hold much ego but he still held pride in his capabilities as a warrior. But then again, combat prowess was a very important thing to the Echani.

“Aye. Always keep training, always keep working. To stop is to give up” Josh would advise. “To give up is to waste everything, in most cases.”

[member="Scherezade deWinter"]

[SIZE=11pt]Giving up. Again something struck a chord within Madalena, and again she just shoved it down, deciding [/SIZE]it was the effects of the previous night. It was a silly notion. Sure, she had hurt and grieved when her parents died, but she had never given up on anything, and she was not about to start now. The girl who had given up no longer existed, and there was no reason to even consider such a thing.

Tousling Jason's hair again, she smiled and nodded at Josh's words.
