DESCRIPTION

The T-90 Dreadplate is the core armor system of Dreadstar Security Solutions and represents Aether Technologies' answer to the need for a balanced, adaptable protective platform for private security forces. It is designed to perform reliably across a wide range of operational environments without requiring the logistical support or specialization of full military armor. Structurally, the T-90 is built around a Duraplast micro-frame that distributes impact forces across the torso and limbs. Reinforced Gammaplast plates are layered over this frame, shaped to deflect blaster energy and reduce penetration. Beneath the plating, a shock-absorbent armorweave undersuit provides thermal regulation and mitigates blunt-force trauma. The armor offers solid protection against light and medium blaster fire, slugthrowers, and fragmentation. While it cannot withstand sustained fire from heavy weapons, it significantly improves survival odds in standard firefights and ambushes. Damage is often localized, allowing the wearer to remain combat-capable even after taking multiple hits. Environmental resilience is a major strength of the T-90. The armor is sealed against smoke, toxins, and extreme temperatures, and can support the wearer in vacuum or low-atmosphere conditions for short emergency intervals. Radiation protection is limited but sufficient for industrial accidents or damaged starship compartments. The helmet integrates a polarized transparisteel visor and a practical sensor suite including low-light and infrared vision, short-range motion detection, and threat indicators within the HUD. These systems are deliberately conservative in scope - designed to inform rather than overwhelm - reflecting the armor's role as a dependable security platform rather than an elite combat system. Mobility is moderate. The T-90 Dreadplate allows running, climbing, and close-quarters movement, but prolonged sprinting and acrobatics are more taxing than in lighter armor such as the T-85 Skirmish Dreadplate. This tradeoff is accepted in exchange for increased protection and survivability. The armor's modular design allows plates, systems, and utility mounts to be replaced or reconfigured in the field using commonly available components. This has made the T-90 particularly popular among units operating far from centralized supply lines. Throughout the Galaxy, the T-90 is regarded as professional, dependable, and unremarkable in the best possible way.
