STRENGTHS

MULTI-ROLE- The X-wing has always been a multi-role platform but this model has a RIO on top of the astromech for added capabilties to run attack or bombing missions. The advanced systems and more roomy cockpit allow for more mobility.

FIRE AND FORGET- The missile and torpedo systems are standard, but the tracking systems are designed to simply fire and move on to the next target.

WE'RE COMING TO YOU!- You think you're out of range of one of these babies? Think again. They may be carrier-based, but they are designed to operate long distances away from their Base of Operations.

WEAKNESSES

MULTI-ROLE=SLOWER- There are more capabilities to the new model, but those take away from the "almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive shielding".

A LONG WAY HOME - One of the designed intents of this fighter is both a strength and a weakness. The problem with that is if you are in trouble, you are not going to be getting back home very quickly.

CAN FIGHT, BUT SHOULD IT? - This model is designed to engage small to mid-capital ships until allies can intervene, not necessarily other starfighters. They CAN dogfight, but don't necessarily have the payload or firepower for it.

DESCRIPTION

For over 860 years, the X-wing has been one of, if not the most successful fighters in the galaxy. From a "lucky shot" to an "almost perfect balance of speed, maneuverability, and defensive shielding", Incom had a goldmine on its developmental hands. Even now the X-wing is still a formidable ship that is tearing up the galaxy for the Galactic Alliance and the Silver Jedi Defense Force as well as across the galaxy as a whole. This new model takes nothing away from the others on the market, just offers a newer spin to it. That spin is HEAVY on the “multi-role”. It can be tasked with long range operations (Fleet Defense/Recon), QRF, Bombing, etc. It is also versatile in that either seat could pilot, or operate the weapons, or both (should one want to sleep). Yes, this model is bigger than a standard X-Wing, not only for the extra pilot, but the extra systems and extra weapons.
