- Accessibility: By the nature of the Bacta growth process, the plant is removed from civilization, but it is not hidden. Access to the plant is restricted to company employees and invited guests to protect the plant from corporate espionage and product tampering. While the plant is by no means a fortress, it is patrolled by armed guards and heavily surveilled.
- Description: In the Thyferran countryside, rolling hills and lush forests are cut by a steel and glass dome with four tendril-like side buildings stretching out. In addition, there is a satellite building functioning as a reception area. The structure is fenced off by a shimmering field of energy and steadily patrolled by probes and live guards. One singular gate functions as both entry and exit.
- Biodome: The largest portion of the structure is the biodome. This is a multi-tiered, domed structure that is constructed to provide the optimal growth conditions for the alazhi and kavam before they are introduced to the ambori fluid. The growth-section of the biodome is sealed with air-locks to prevent contagion and closely guarded against interference.
- Refinery: The refinery is where the raw ingredients are brought together. The process is nearly fully automated, with the personnel primarily working to oversee the process and quality-check the product from growth, to assembly, to distribution.
- Laboratories: The on-site laboratories help quality-check the bacta before distribution, but also engage in research and development. Here they may be working on new ways of applying the bacta, or ways to make the bacta more effective.
- Security Facility: The security wing is the command centre for the guards and droids on patrol. It features a prison cell and an observation station for the structure’s security system.
- Customer Relations: The customer relations structure is a small satellite structure. While the building is a small part of the grounds, thoughts have been put into its design and placement to make it a presentable place to discuss with clients, investors, or other visitors.
Security Rating: High.
- Outer Perimeter: The first security measure is a perimeter of 100 meters cleared of foliage. These grounds are surveilled by cameras mounted on the fence pylons and occasionally patrolled by probe droids.
- Fence/Gate: The primary security feature is the power fence, which projects a crackling wall of blue energy around the inner perimeter. This fence has a singular entry and exit point, which is a duracrete gate shut by a similar power field. Guards and probe droids keep watch on the inside perimeter.
- Probe droids: Floating probe droids restlessly patrol and survey the grounds..
- Guards: Guards, hired by Synal’s parent company, Andromeda Inc, patrol the structure and grounds on a regular basis. The guards are armed with blasters, but will fire to stun unless fired upon with deadly force.
- Internal surveillance: The internal surveillance system is a combination of mounted cameras and probe droids which send their data to a central observation station in the security facility.
After the Sith Empire’s attack on Thyferra, this locale was a ruin. Even so, it had been spared the majority of the bombing. For that reason, Andromeda Inc. was able to buy the land and property cheaply. Due to damages and political turmoil, it would take decades before the property was ready to restart production. By that time, it was in the hands of Andromeda’s subsidiary, Synal Pharmaceuticals. However, all good things come to those who wait. With considerable investment, Syn-Prime has become a very productive source of Bacta ready to be shipped across the galaxy.
Bacta is a precious substance, and tampering with the substance can have fatal consequences, as history has shown. This is why Synal has invested in considerable security measures to ensure that their bacta leaves the plant in prime condition, untainted and unadulterated. The increased security is also due to research conducted on the premises. Pharmaceuticals is a cutthroat business, and corporate espionage can cost a new company untold credits.
Syn-Prime is one of several bacta plants on Thyferra. With war ravaging the galaxy, there is more than enough demand for good bacta and Synal intends to provide their share of the supply.
