Jack Sandrow

Writer, Character, Invasive Species
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: This is to allow SV biotech to interface with the standard technology of the galaxy, albeit in a limited fashion
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Conduit mushroom (SWRPC), Scomp link (Wookieepedia)
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Sylva Vitae
  • Affiliation: Jack Sandrow, Sylva Vitae
  • Market Status: Closed-Market
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: This can be part of a SV biotech suite, perhaps as an add-on for a suit of armor or a cupboard on a starship to carry a radio, etc. This is not any specific piece of technology as much as it is a way to connect with technology via biotech.
  • Production: Limited
  • Materials: Conduit mushroom, C. viridis
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Allows connection from the SV biotech suite to traditional technology interfaces. A small nodule of C. viridis allows parsing of SV physical and chemical signals into traditional technological electrical impulses, and back again.
STRENGTHS
  • Allows interfacing with 'standard' technology of the last tens of thousands of years in the galaxy.
  • Provides commands and is capable of receiving commands via scomp links and data ports.
WEAKNESSES
  • Just like traditional scomp links and data ports, it is entirely unarmored and a very sensitive weak point. Susceptible to power surges and weapons fire.
  • Traditional SV biotech has a traditional SV Force presence, and is susceptible as all SV biotech is to Force manipulation.
DESCRIPTION
Thin tendrils of mycelium wrapped around a nodule of softly glowing plant matter. A section of living armor peels back to allow the tendrils to reach out and sink into the data port of a vulnerable console. Commands flicker across the screen, translated from biotech impulses and unspoken commands to electrical signals and binary decisions. Vital information is ripped out of the data banks and almost literally slurped back into the armor with not a moment to spare. The 'Sero' biotech data port is quintessential for Sylva Vitae communication to traditional technology, and an almost unspoken but entirely invaluable piece of the SV suite.
