CORUSCANT
Shopping with Reina Daival Reina Daival

It'd been a couple of weeks!

Klar loved Coruscant to her core. It was where she'd spent the best years of her childhood, where most of her good memories were. It made sense to her - the dizzying arrays of lifts and stairs, the thousands of layers of the city, the bridges. SO many bridges, across a seemingly infinite amount of skylanes brimming with countless speeders and shuttles. Their passage was the wind, the blood flowing through the heart of the endless city. Klar made her way to Coruscant every chance she got, usually by swapping duties and favors with other Padawans until she could drum up a task to take her there. Once you understood how the system worked, it wasn't too horribly hard to game it.

It'd been a little more tricky this time, if only because she'd needed to find a reason to bring Reina along as well. Thankfully, all they'd had to do was deliver a package to a senator's aide - and Klar suspected that the package had been more of a pretense than anything else for a stuffy bureaucrat to get a photo op shaking hands with a couple of photogenic Padawans. Klar hadn't lingered long, dragging Reina off towards the closest commerce district at high speed.

It was a bight, sunny day on Coruscant. That hadn't stopped it from raining that morning, which had left small puddles here and there and a freshness to the air that was probably entirely imperceptible to anyone who hadn't learned to filter out the constant background done of passing speeders. "Okay! Our objectives for today!" Klar chirped, leading Reina by the hand as she counted off on her fingers.

OBJECTIVE 1: WHEN HEARTS ALIGN [PVP] {DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM}
Have a fun date!

"We have a fun date. More important than anything else." Klar insisted formally, furrowing her brow. "That means no speeders this time." The Codru-Ji promised earnestly, punctuating this with an apologetic smile. "Whatever we're doing, whatever happens, if we're not having fun today? We do something else. Promise?" She requested gently. "I won't try and convince you I'm having more fun than I am, if you promise to let me know when I'm dragging you into something you're not as thrilled about."

Klar paused in her listing to duck around a corner, leading them over a wide bridge. Hundreds of people crossed, all of them navigating hurriedly towards somewhere else. The traffic never stopped, never ceased, and the lights never went out.

ZJqTFYf.png

OBJECTIVE 2: THE FLASH OF THUNDER [PVE] [DIFFICULTY: HARD}
Visit the Holodive Arcade

"Oh, I'd love to take you by the Holodive arcade if you're interested." Klar added cheerfully, bouncing through a crosswalk. "There's this little plaza right by it, with a cute cafe. I don't know if hologames or sims are really your thing - but I've wasted so much time in 'em." She confessed. "Hologames were one of my favorite ways to get used to having thumbs when I came out of my cocoon!" The blonde explained, her lower arms pantomining working a control stick and buttons at an arcade machine. "There's loads we can do without it getting competitive, too! Dancing games, skeeball - There's some fishing games, too!"

ZJqTFYf.png

OBJECTIVE 3: TO TURN WITHIN, WITHOUT [PVSelf] {DIFFICULTY: EXTREME}
Come out to Reina

Klar cleared her throat, glancing at the passing cars. "Oh. uh. Remind me to ask you about something on the ride home." Klar added. "I think our shuttle leaves at midnight? So there's about seven hours. We could probably take in a show, if you want..."

"Objectives? You're making this sound like it's some kind of mission. It's not. We're just...handing something over. We're glorified delivery people...I guess I should use to it. Since 'Lexis apparently does it as a job..."

Reina let out a small chuckle at that. Now, Coruscant wasn't exactly her favourite planet, but the fact that it had been raining had caused Reina to have at least somewhat of a pep to her step. A small little smile playing on her face as Klar dragged her through the streets. Reina was far more...smiley than she had been in the past with Klar. To the point that the redhead didn't care about the dozens upon hundreds of people they were all moving past.

"I promise Klar, I'll tell you if I'm not having fun. Don't worry. I'm nearly always having fun with you nowadays. Just...don't expect me to do any speeder stuff, or go and hug some stranger. Don't expect me to enjoy the dryness of Coruscant either. You saw me on a good day when we were out at the river. I'm just...not a fan of solid ground."

As they walked together, Reina squeezed Klar's hand, the redhead's eyes scanning through the streets as they moved. There was a small part of Reina that was still paranoid. That she felt like she had to be on edge. This wasn't the safety of the Temple anymore. Even if Coruscant wasn't exactly the worst planet to be wandering around, there was that irrational fear in the back of her mind. She did her best to keep her hand away from her Lightsaber. It wouldn't make for a good look to the people around themselves if they saw a Jedi reaching for a weapon.

"Klar. You aren't going to catch me dancing. I literally only have one leg. The prosthesis doesn't count. I don't mind trying out the skeeball though. I've always been good at throwing stuff. You shoulda saw me when I used my harpoon. Just chucking it at things and then pulling it back. I miss it sometimes."

It wasn't like Reina couldn't do that anymore. But she was going against threats that required a lot more than just a good throwing armour. Threats that even a Lightsaber couldn't match up to, but Reina was trying not to focus on that. It would ruin their...Date. Because that's what this was. A date. This time she knew it was one. It wasn't like her fishing trip with Klar that ended up becoming a date without him realising. Reina knew it this time.

"I'll...do my best to try and remember. I have a habit of forgetting things when I hang out with you. But yeah. I don't mind seeing a show with you as well. That's...what you do on a date right? Sorry. I'm just...not used to this. I know we aren't like...exclusive or official or any of those fancy terms...but I want to make sure this is fun."

As she spoke, Reina flicked her index finger between the pair as she spoke about exclusivity and officialness. They were just...out here having fun. As a pair of...more than friends? Friends? Reina didn't know.

"I will literally turn this planet upside down to find you something you can huck a harpoon at." Klar promised earnestly, giving the redhead a slightly dour look. Klar wanted to push back on Reina's insistence that she couldn't dance, the same way she wanted to push back on just about everyone's excuse that they couldn't dance, but... she'd pick her battles. Weather the bad moments, and strike when the time was right. Klar was on a one-man mission to build up her friends one brick at a time, especially Reina and Xuko - both who had tragically low opinions of themselves.

Criminally low. Klar would make it illegal if she could.

That said, she had to temper herself. This might not be just a confidence issue, there was a legitimate chance that Reina wasn't used to her prosthetic yet. Between that and her slightly crooked amble that suggested Reina's poor balance wasn't entirely the fault of her leg, there was a good chance that Reina actually wasn't good at dancing. Besides, if she'd really wanted to go dancing? Klar would have come alone. Today was about her and Reina.

"All that matters is that we have a good time." Klar promised. "If that means taking in a play or looking for live music, lovely. If that means getting drunk in a bar and rolling back to Tython absolutely pished? Also fine." The blonde woman promised, grinning ear-to-ear.

She considered for a moment, pulling at her Jedi robes. "Oh. How about some street clothes?" Klar offered warmly. "One outfit, my treat? I'll be doing the same." She snickered. "I usually pack a bag, but I must've left it in my dorm or something." She explained sheepishly. "We'll stick out walking around in Jedi robes."

"Would turning Coruscant upside down turn the lower levels into the upper levels? Or would it not work that way...In fact where would be the starports go? If they're inside the planet, no ships could leave..."

Reina tilted her head, purposefully being annoying. Anything to try and change the subject away from dancing. She would sing. That's about it. And even then, it was mostly her own little sea shanties she sang. It was rare for her to do that for anyone, but Klar was one of those special people. It was fun to hang out with them. Even if Reina always felt like Klar wanted to keep pushing Reina out of her comfort zone, Reina was comfortable with where she was.

"Klar. I started having a good time with you as soon as we left the Temple. I hate the place. I hate Tython. All the trees, the Fleshraiders, the people. I'm not...a people person. Surprise surprise. I'm good with kids though apparently...Apparently they can see I have a "gentle" soul. They'll learn sooner or later they're wrong."

She waved her hand dismissively at that, shoving it into her jacket...before Reina blinked at the comment about them going shopping for street clothes and Reina looked down at the white jacket she was wearing before looking back at Klar with a small cheeky smile.

"...Wow. A girl tries to dress nice for their date, and you don't even notice. In all seriousness, I don't...wear the robes. They're too restrictive. No-one's had a go at me for it yet so."

"Would turning Coruscant upside down turn the lower levels into the upper levels? Or would it not work that way...In fact where would be the starports go? If they're inside the planet, no ships could leave..."

'Inside out is not the same as upside-down." Klar pointed out primly, holding two hands behind her back as she lectured sagaciously. "Clearly, I was referring to the poles being flipped by some sort of magneto-whatzit event causing major calamitous, uh... calamities." Klar couldn't maintain the faux-intellectual posture for very long, especially when she knew that Reina was just being a doof about it and she was matching that doof energy. Klar burst out laughing, stopped her walking, and then turned on Reina abruptly.

"You ARE in street clothes!" She remarked loudly, clasping her hands together. "I'm so sorry! I was so busy with the delivery and planning that I just assumed you were wearing your Jedi robes under that amazing jacket. Stupid me, worst partner ever. Please throw rocks at my big dumb head." Klar complained, rapping her knuckles lightly against her head while clucking her tongue to give the impression that she was knocking on something hollow. "If I see something good, I'll pick it up so I don't stick out so much. I don't wanna interrupt our date for just my fashion, though."

"By the way, because I absolutely fumbled the ball?" She laughed. "Your outfit is amazing and I'm sorry for not appreciating it better. I am geninely envious of how cozy that jacket appears, and black always looks so amazing with your hair." Klar listed eagerly. "The bow is also inspired. A cute accessory. I get that you don't always 'do' cute, and mostly are cute, but when you do both? Whoa!" She fanned herself with four hands, grinning. "Breathtaking! I cannot breathe!"

"The temple here on Coruscant is pretty nice." Klar noted warmly as she continued walking. "I'm glad I was transferred to Tython, though. I've met so many astounding people - present company emphasized." The blonde promised. "It was much more... dry lectures, and less group exercises and camping."

"But even if the poles were flipped, that wouldn't necessarily be turning the planet upside down. That would be adjusting the magnetic poles and changing how compasses work. So I'd end up losing my way."

Reina grinned at Klar's laughter. It was infectious in a way though Reina was able to keep her smile underwraps as she folded her arms along her front, twisting and turning herself about as Klar finally seemed to notice the outfit. It wasn't as if Reina was going to hold it over the Codru-Ji however. Reina always felt like she was blending in the background but that wasn't something she held against Klar.

"Hey. I'm okay with you finding your own clothes or something to wear. Today's just...for the two of us right? It doesn't matter what we're doing. As long as it's together. I think? Like I said...I'm new to the whole date stuff. All I know is that you are meant to be the most important thing for me today."

Yet in the blink of an eye, Reina was starting to get super flustered. A bright blush starting to spread across her face as Klar went on the massive spiel about how good Reina looked in her outfit. It wasn't something Reina had been expecting. It wasn't an outfit that she had even put on thinking she'd look nice, like when she had went clubbing a while back. Because yes, Reina went clubbing. Occasionally. And she also occasionally broke down when she went clubbing...so maybe she shouldn't do that now that she thought about it.

"You better breathe. I'm not doing CPR if you pass out...but...yeah...I don't mind dry lectures...I'm good at learning...if people are talking..."

Reina mumbled a little bit, starting to get a little bit more...nervous after the compliments as she looked off to the side for a moment in thought.

It was probably a good thing that Klar didn't know Reina had been to a club, because she would have likely dragged her date off to both redeem dancing in her heart and also show off how amazingly kind of okay she was at it. It'd have been the speeder situation all over again. "NO CPR?" Klar asked with mock disappointment. "Not even a little - as a treat?" Klar pouted. "Codru-Ji can have a LITTLE CPR as a treat. My ribs are VERY resilient." This was, of course, complete nonsense. Klar assured her date of this by immediately bursting into laughter and continuing her meandering path towards... somewhere.

And by 'somewhere', she meant her nefarious secret weapon.

"I think you wouldn't be able to lose your way for a variety of factors." Klar observed with a smirk, lifting her chin. "First, I'm here. I know my way around. I know this part of Coruscant frontwards AND backways, so you could not get lost if you tried. I'd find you." She boasted. "Secondly, I'm FAIRLY sure you don't actually navigate by magnets. Small birds do that, sometimes. OR! Strange fish. Ask me how I know." Klar chirped, clearly preening a little. "Even if you did, I wouldn't tell you. You'd have to discover for yourself."

Klar grinned wickedly, extending her hand to Reina. "Do you smell that on the wind, Reina? I've brought you to a world without seas... but what is that?" She purred in her best villainous growl. "Could... could it be? What has Klar planned? What devious way might she be trying to impress her date this time? None would take the sea from the girl, but could the girl be brought back to the sea?!"

Sure enough, the post-rain breeze brought with a suggestion of saltwater of a certain maritime persuasion.

"Definitely not as a treat. You aren't allowed one. No. Bad Klar. Behave."

Reina smirked a little bit, playing alongside Klar a little bit as they were starting to make their way through Coruscant. She still had no clue where they were going but Reina wasn't entirely fussed. Her eyes focused ahead of herself for a moment before she glanced back over towards Klar, tilting her head in surprise. Of course Reina knew Klar wouldn't get lost amongst Coruscant, but Reina wouldn't be that bad. At least on the upper levels. If she was on the lower levels, Reina would be like a fish out of water.

"...I mean I use compasses Klar. Compasses work off magnetics. Ergo, I work off magnets. And yes, I did just use a big word like Ergo. What are you going to do about it? Hm?"

There we go. Reina got a chance to feel like an intellectual because she was using fancy words. She held her head up high at that, a smug little grin on her face as they continued walk and then her eyes headed over towards Klar's hand, and she raised an eyebrow in confusion as to what was going on...and then Klar mentioned the wind. Smells. Her eyes going wide for a moment as she could smell the saltwater in the wind and it was like a switch had been flipped as Reina snatched Klar's hand.

"Come on! Come on! Let's go! Let's go!"

With that, Reina basically started running towards the smell of the saltwater, her leg clanking down against the street of Coruscant. She didn't even know where she was going but Klar had unleashed a chaotic sea beast now.

It occured to Klar to think - entirely too late into this endeavor - that this had a good chance of backfiring and just making Reina even MORE homesick. Or disappointed.

Reina's sharp seafaring nose was able to lead her - and thus Klar - through a few more bridges. The scent of saltwater became more consistent, as did the sound of waves and laughter. Past a certain point, they passed through an aperture and into something more akin to the entrance to a theme part - an unfathomably large one by most planetary standards. But then, Coruscant was no normal planet. And this was no normal aquarium. "Welcome..." Klar began, pulling Reina towards the entrance. "To the...

EdElI4Y.png

....Klar declared boldly, throwing all four arms out to the side grandly to properly frame the massive entrance. She then continued in a slightly hurried, but no less eager voice. "Formed by unilateral decree during the Old Republic Era, the Royal Icqui Aquaria is the largest public aquarium on Coruscant - and possibly the GA!" She explained cheerfully. "What began as a mere six square kilometer public works project has ballooned outwards to become what you see before you - practically a sea, in and of itself! Open to the public, free of charge! This shimmering blue jewel of the Hirkenglade prefecture is easily one of the top twenty sights on Coruscant! And the biggest single collection of water, fresh or otherwise in the entire hemisphere!"

Klar grinned brightly, taking Reina's hand again. "I got our passes last night!" She explained, skipping the longer lines for the shorter ones. "Let's go peep some fish!"

It was an Aquarium. Not a beach. Not the ocean that Reina had been expecting. Reina stared up at the building for a moment. Her reaction was...muted. Hidden for a moment. It wasn't what she had been expecting for. It wasn't what she had entirely hoped for...but Klar had actually thought about something that Reina would be interested in. Something that Klar thought Reina would be excited for. Her eyes darted over towards Klar for a moment, as a small crack started to show in her face. Her eyes watering up for a moment...before she threw herself at Klar.

The redhead wrapped her arms around the Codru-Ji as tightly as she could, burying her face into Klar's shoulder and just held it for as long as she could. A few tears streaming down Reina's face. Happy tears of course but tears all the same time. And well...Reina wasn't exactly a pretty crier even on the best of days.

"...Thank you...I didn't even know there was a damned Aquarium on this kriffing rock of a planet..."

And with that, she brought her head back, sniffling away as she used her free hand to rub at her eyes. Hesitating for a moment in thought as she tried to figure something out for a moment...before she leaned forward to give Klar a peck on the cheek. Almost immediately pulling her head back afterwards as if nothing happened and then she prepared to wander into the Aquarium to see what they could find. For a fisherwoman, Reina wasn't exactly...super knowledgeable in fish species to be fair. She could point at something and be like "Oh, that's tasty"...but that didn't mean she knew what it was called.

Reina Daival Reina Daival

There was a solid moment where Klar was heartstoppingly convinced that she'd screwed up. Either Reina hated aquariums (anyplace that hosted wildlife like this, she had learned LAST NIGHT had some severe ethical concerns) or she'd thought there would be an ocean on Coruscant or something and was thoroughly whelmed by the reality. Granted, the reality was probably the finest public aquairum within several hundred systems, but even so. After having messed up with the speeder already, she was understandably anxious.

What a very pleasant surprise that she was hugged instead. Klar wrapped all four arms around the redhead when she threw herself into them. She was a fantastic hugger, as one might have expected. She was also a sympathetic cryer. When Reina thanked her, Klar gave a slightly choked laugh and promised in a slightly crackly voice. "There are SO many aquariums on this kriffing rock, Rei." She promised.

A kiss on the cheek was a sweet and very appreciated reassurance. Klar pulled a cloth from her bag and wiped her tears before passing it over to Reina with a crooked smile. They were already moving, waiting in the shorter line, and passing through the gates into a city-sized aquarium - into a world of gigantic pools and tanks with plankton, leviathans, and plants from oceans across the Galaxy. As always, Klar was sure to scoop a brochure.

Holding the included map open, Klar leaned briefly against Reina and grinned. "What's first? 'Monsters of the Deep', 'Frozen Seas of the Outer Rim', or 'Swimming with the Selonians'? Because they're closest to this entrance. Or does something else catch your fancy?"

Whilst Reina wasn't entirely ectastic over the Aquarium, she was at least pleased with the effort that Klar had put into it all. It had meant someone had genuinely thought about her. Someone had put actual thought into what Reina liked and what she'd have wanted. That was the main thing Reina had always wanted out of someone. And that's what Klar had done as Reina moved up from handholding, and wrapped her arm around Klar's arm, resting her head against the Codru-Ji's shoulder...Of course, after she had wiped the tears off her face using the cloth. She wasn't going to shove any more of her tears onto Klar's shoulder.

"Monsters of the Deep could be interesting...I struggle to think of any aquatic creature I'd actually call a Monster...I mean, there was some kind of dream...vision I had a while back, but I'm sure...it's nothing serious."

Of course she didn't elaborate on that. Why would she elaborate about seeing some aquatic nightmare creature in her dreams? It wasn't necessary for the date! Naaah! Reina just grinned to herself, trying not to dwell on that thought. She wasn't ready to deal with whatever had been in the dream anyway. She still needed to learn and become a better person. And with Klar alongside Reina's other friends starting to help her along the way? She didn't think that would be too long.

It was a secret known to few, but! A benefit of having a partner with four arms was that you could hold onto one and still have an arm draped over your shoulder or around your waist. Klar demonstrated this by beaming with delight as Reina's head came to rest on one of her shoulders, pulling her date to her side for a half-hug. "Dreams are ALWAYS important." The Cordu-Ji pointed out as they began walking. Perhaps it was simply that she'd grown up on Coruscant, but as much as she was coming to appreciate nature? There was a part of Klar that loved the slightly sterilized, mildly conditioned air that felt so unique to open-air theme parks and the like. So many stores with massive entrances, pavilions, the warm sun evaporating treated water - it might be entirely manmade, but Klar couldn't separate it from ideas of childhood whimsy and joy.

The two stepped followed a few signs into a stairway down beneath the surface, which swiftly moved through a food court into an area with some substance. Through a dark tunnel and down an escalator.

The air was already cooler when Klar and Reina rounded a corner to a massive wall of glass, easily four stories tall. On their side, dark seating with small holographic displays. On the other? A sparkling blue sea, teeming with life. Countless fish - predatory and otherwise - cycled around a tank deep enough that the other sides were entirely invisible. A Mon Calamari Light Cruiser sat in the depths of the tank, grown over centuries into a massive multicolored reef that flowed with life wherever one looked. Said reef extended to the walls of the tank as far as Klar and Reina could see them, reaching up possibly to the surface - which was also out of sight.

A Quarren leading a nearby tour group helpfully explained that the Admiralty Memorial had been founded centuries ago and was over a kilometer in diameter, filled with life from Mon Cala's oceans. For once this explanation had to come from somewhere else, as Klar had been rendered utterly stupefied by the sight of the teeming sea.

"Yeah, but what about when that dream has your old crew being swallowed whole by a giant whale covered in like...black viscous veins and then all of a sudden, you can feel it's giant soulless eye staring directly at you. And you could feel it looking directly at you. Even when you wake up, you feel like it can see you through all of the walls."

In that case, Reina didn't think the dreams were that important. It was just some strange nightmare she had. It might be real. It might not be. Of course, Reina was starting to lean towards the idea of it being real. It was something she had to be ready for. But not just her. She'd need to make sure that other people were ready for it as well. She wouldn't be able to take a giant whale on by herself...but she'd need to make sure that anyone who did come with her would know how to swim...

Eityer wah, they were starting to head through aquarium and as soon as they were face to face with the glass, Reina's eyes seemed to sparkle with joy for a moment. Her reflection staring back at her as she took in the sight of the fish swimming around. They weren't really any she knew the names of, but she could easily point out which ones tasted nice, which ones tasted like dirt, which ones you had to stay away from. Her eyes were just sparkling away as she grinned away, squeezing Klar's arm for a moment.

"Y'know, my crystal for my Lightsaber came from Mon Cala? I caught it whilst I was fishing with someone...I haven't seen that person for a while though. She was like...a big sister to me but then she vanished. Guess that's a thing family does."

At least she had found Alexis. She was slowly but surely starting to feel like she had a family. That she was an actual person and wasn't living on borrowed time anymore.

Klar would have argued that that nightmare sounded VERY important - if not because it represented a potential prophecy or doomed fate, then simply because it sounded like a severe, unresolved trauma that should probably be addressed by a professional. But the next best thing to a professional was a support network who cared and Klar was nothing if not willing to secure her part of Reina's web. Suggesting therapy could wait. Happy memories couldn't. She gave Reina's shoulder a firm squeeze of support and didn't drill down into the nightmare business.

"Family's half rubbish anyway." Klar declared idly, leading Reina closer to the edge of the tank. "Found family's the way to go. My mom bailed and dad sold me to a hutt. Nobody I've ever loved since would do anything like that to me." She explained with a firmness, a stubborn set of her jaw as she regarded a bubble-eyed jellyfish with a very normal glare. Klar didn't glare very often - the way her brow furrowed and her lips became a thin pursed line didn't seem to sit right on her face. It didn't last long, though. The blonde sighed and gave Reina an apologetic smile.

"I didn't know you could catch crystals like a fish." Klar confessed readily, a little surprised. "That's incredible. What sort of bait would you even use?" Klar asked. As she spoke, she poked at the glass of the tank towards the boggle-eyed jellyfish. A helpful little holo-window popped up with a few facts about the creature. The proper name in Basic, Huttese, and Mon Cal, what sort of things it liked and didn't like. "Does it coming from the water affect the use of it at all? Or wouldn't you know, I wonder?" She mused. "We should try each other' sabers some time, for science."

The idea of Reina ever seeing a professional for her trauma wasn't even something that would ever cross her mind. Why would it be? It wasn't like Reina knew the concept of therapy, and even then, she'd be there for hours. None of that was something she'd care about. What she did care about however was spending time with Klar as she leaned into the squeeze of support, a small grin spreading across her face as Reina took in the sight of the fish. She felt the most she could at home.

Yet that's when she noticed Klar's reflection in the glass. The glare on her face. It wasn't something Reina quite expected from Klar. In fact, it was Reina who mostly glared whilst Klar was the one who was meant to be grinning. Reina didn't make any comment about what Klar had said. Not fully. It was clear that was what made Klar glare the way she had...instead Reina just rested her head against the Codru-Ji.

"Hey. If you ever want to complain about something...I'm right here, y'know? You went out of your way to get these tickets and everything. So...if you need to talk about something, evee if you think it's resolved...I'll still listen. That's what you're meant to do on a date, right? Listen?"

Reina was fully open with Klar. The walls that Reina usually held up to everyone she spoke with was...they weren't exactly gone, but they had shifted. They had became doors. Doors that Klar had managed to push their way open. For now however...Well, there were a few things that Klar wanted to ask.

"It wasn't...like a fish. I found it in a clam. It's technically a Pearl. It...makes me feel more connected to water when I have it on my person. The pearl I mean...and by extension my lightsaber. It helps me to move under water as well...It's...hard to explain. I don't know if it would work for you though. I'm always up to let you try out my Lightsaber though."

Klar offered a cheeky smirk, giving Reina's hip a squeeze. "Oh, lookit us - all very serious, playing with each other's lightsabers." She teased. Mostly without making herself blush at the mild insinuation of it, too! The softest bit of insinuation possible.

Nobody had accused Klar of being good at entendre, double or otherwise.

"A pearl is just about the most you thing that I could think of." The blonde replied thoughtfully, releasing Reina so she could fix her hair and smooth her robes out. After a moment of thought, Klar shrugged out of the bulkier outer robe and folded it while talking. "Sincerely. And not just because it's from the ocean - though obviously that. But!" She chirped. "Layers of brittle protection forming a tough, beautiful shield? A thing filled with color and value, not diminished by the hurt at the heart of it - but existing BECAUSE of that hurt?" She listed, stuffing the robe into her bag for safekeeping. It was too big to fit properly, so some of it hung out. A bit like a half-cape, Klar decided. She was fine with that.

"I'm just saying." She chuckled. "The Force has hands on you, Rei. I do feel that - sincerely." Klar promised.

With one less layer between them, Klar offered a hand and an escort around the massive tank - pointing occasionally at an especially interesting or silly-looking fish. "I sometimes wonder if perhaps part of the reason I'm so... poor, with using the Force, is because I didn't go through any sort of trial or quest for my sabers." She reflected quietly. "I determined the sort of weapon I wanted to be using and obtained them through official channels. All very dry, bureaucratic. Maybe I'd be performing better as a Jedi if I'd, I don't know. Climbed a mountain or pulled them from a krayt dragon or something."

Klar sighed quietly. "Though those sorts of stories always seem to end with an emphasis on being your true self or somesuch similar, and I am NOT ready for THAT lesson." Klar confessed sheepishly.

Ah. Poor sweet naive Reina. The woman blinked in confusion at Klar talking about it getting all serious. She had no clue what a double entendre was. Nor did she really quite understand why Klar was using her whole teasing tone for something that she said was meant to be serious. she just tilted her head for a moment...before Klar started to go on a small tangent about Reina and how she matched up with a pearl.

The red-head stuttered for a moment, trying to figure out how to reply to the compliments and descriptions, a firm flush starting to come over her face as Klar also started to take her bulkier outer robes off, Reina was still trying to wrap her head around this. Klar kept using perfect examples to describe Reina, and Reina herself wasn't quite sure how to feel about it all. It was nice. But it was also...part of what Reina disliked the most about people sometimes. When they seemed to know Reina better than she knew herself. It peeved her. Got on Reina's nerves. And if it had been anyone but Klar, Reina would have snapped. But...Reina knew Klar wasn't like those who pretended to know Reina. Klar...seemed to actually know her.

"I didn't go through any trial or quest for mine. I literally just fished up the Pearl. I made a friend. A friend who's gone now...but still a friend. You want a lesson on seeing your true self? Go on a trial for one. I did. It wasn't...fun. I had to face a lot of stuff I didn't want to. Stuff I haven't told anyone. Stuff I probably won't tell anyone."

Yet Reina raised an eyebrow. Klar seemed so bubbly and confident in herself. There was something that even the Codru-Ji didn't want to face? What in the Galaxy could it be? Reina wasn't one for prying however.

Reina Daival Reina Daival

"I would argue that fishing is a trial." Klar pointed out casually, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "We spent all afternoon at the river and didn't catch anything at all. If I was depending on a fish or we'd starve? We'd have died!" She protested. Overly dramatic? Maybe. But that could be forgiven for the cause of being kind of funny, right? She considered for a moment, tapping her lips. "Well. I guess in a roundabout way, I DID catch something. Someone."

Klar turned and gave Reina a broad, slightly smug grin - waggling her eyebrows. Playful insinuation. Casual flirting. Normal stuff to be doing on a date!

She considered a section of the giant tank, watching as a long fish with very small fins seemed to frantically flap and wiggle to get beneath a section of the coral that was a little more muck-y and permeable. It looked desperate, but it wasn't being pursued by anything. Was it just like that? Was it a prey animal that didn't know it was currently safe? Could it have understood the difference? Klar wasn't sure. Perhaps it had been born afraid, and had spent an entire life frantically diving for cover without knowing that there was probably nothing in the tank that cared enough to endanger it - let alone eat it.

She could have touched the side of the tank to learn more about it. Klar decided not to. "Say. If you were a fish, what sort of fish do you think you'd be?" Klar asked idly, watching as the last centimeters of the wriggling eel-thing disappeared under a rock. "I like whales best. So I'd want to be a whale." Klar added, sounding a bit vague as she gave Reina a curious look.

"If we were that reliant on fish, I would have came up with other ideas to make sure we didn't starve. I am not that terrible. No way would I risk letting someone who was with me die."

Reina rolled her eyes at the joking, and didn't make a comment about Klar being able to catch someone. For now, Reina just broke out into a small blush as she looked off to the side, trying to figure out what to say next. Instead, she just turned her attention towards the fish, watching them all swim around. The schools of fish all bunched together, the lone wolves...or well, lone fish swimming around by themselves. It wasn't real. Reina knew it wasn't like the actual ocean...that some of these fish would never be found together...but it was still enough to make her content.

"...I could see a Whale fitting me. Whales can get incredibly lonely. People think they're supremely solitary creatures...but that's not the full truth. Whales need social connections as much as any other animal...they just struggle to show it to things that don't understand them. So I think I fit a Whale more than you do. Or maybe we're both Whales."

It might have sounded vague coming from Klar, but Reina felt like she could understand it at least.
