Sunshine introduction

Hello all! This is my first, and most likely only character for quite a while, and I am interested in finding a group of characters to 'rescue' Sunshine, and climatize her to the larger galaxy. Depending on who rescues her can largely shape the direction I take her in the short run.

The first few posts I will be doing alone to get a foothold on the character, but after that I will be free to be absconded elsewhere. My idea is to have a short time running around with some people just adjusting to the different world, until her Force sensitivity becomes apparent. I haven't thought far enough ahead for an over arching goal for her yet, but I will personally say that I enjoy writing villains much more than I do heroes, so I would likely prefer Sith. I say this, knowing next to nothing of the climate, stories or characters of the present timeline, and am aware I am going into this new environment blind, much like the character.

I have prior experience on other boards, in both story plotting and post based fighting, and much enjoy conspiring with my fellow players to create stories of surprise and impact where character interaction, I feel, has a chance to make to most sudden and drastic changes. I plan to take my time with this character, and while I would love to burn through training and wade out into the galactic pond and make big splashes, this time I would much prefer to take my time to properly portray the changes in this character's life that lead her down the path she choses.

So, for those of you who's interests are peaked and happen to have some characters free to go on a scavenging mission to this long dead world, or answer a distress beacon, here are some considerations before you throw your hat into the ring.

1. After reading the character sheet, you should be able to tell that Sunshine is not going to have an easy time so close around other people for a little while. We may experience some psychosis in her behavior if things get too stressful or out of control. This could trigger fight or flight, where she leaves the party high and dry as she finds a safe spot to hide, or she sees red and lashes out at whatever gets near her or in her way. I, as a writer, will never try to be purposefully difficult in replying to a scenario, but I will tend to follow what I feel is the character's natural response.

2. There is also the matter of her being a living host to a hive virus that has been mutating throughout her species for several hundred years. Without protective equipment or a disciplined skill in the Force, most people would be eaten alive by the disease in a matter of days. It is only by the most precarious chance of nature that she is alive at all. Before she can get too social, this disease has to be controlled somehow. I have a few methods in mind, but would like to see what my rescuer/rescuing party has to fix the problem the will find themselves in. If the character is going for salvage, they likely would do some research and find out about the history of the virus and plan accordingly.

3. Optionally, if there is anyone out there who wants to come for the virus itself and rescue me as a side effect, that works too. I'm not sure about the rules regarding the use or ownership of such a devastating virus, but my intention is to get it cured, being only a developmental point for the character to use later.

Again, I will most likely lean dark side in the long run, but feel this transition period is necessary to establish her spreading roots in the idea of who she wants to be in this huge, new galaxy. I'm going to take my time over the next couple of weeks doing the intro a couple pages at a time. By the time I am done with those solo posts, hopefully I am able to find one or a few of you willing to take on the burden that is Sunshine for a small time. Please PM me if you have any questions or ideas.

[member="Elise Ike"] I'm taking that as a good thing, hopefully. Appreciated. The hardest part in character creation for me is always the name. I got to cheat with a Firrerreo, since their custom of names holding power keeps them from sharing it easily. I honestly haven't given her a real name yet, but it felt silly to delay the character sheet as I mulled about a few dozen ideas when I had a perfectly good cultural loophole.

Perhaps one can nev r know, but the illness you have and being a ferross is certainly something that would catch my attention. More so since my own IC racial powers would prevent me from being infected easily.[member="Mellifluous"]

Very cool. I love some dead planets me, always a favourite writing scene. Oh and I'm definitively leaning villain, not a Sith though.
Hope you enjoy your time here.

Also, how on earth do I pronounce your name? :p

Mellifluous [muh-lif-loo-uhs](adj.):

1) Sweetly or smoothly flowing; sweet sounding

2) Flowing with honey; sweetened with or as if honey

Working on my intro now. Should be done sometime tomorrow. Then I am to be whisked away for training with Metus, and all that horribly entails.
