- Protective Cloth: Weaved and made by the residents of the shadow towers the silk is able to obscure sensors and make the wearers slippery in the force not hidden but it is harder to focus on them.
- Slippery: The weave makes one slippery in the force and hard to focus on but they are not concealed visibly. the silks have an exotic scent that makes tracking the scent of the wearer much harder.
- Muffled Steps: The silks dampen sonic including footfalls to a point. If one is crashing around and stomping it won't do much but lightly stepping can be almost entirely silent.
- Protective: The silks are enriched by the Kyushi and designed to be deceptively protective offering protection where it covers against blades and energy.
- Stealth but not Stealth: It can absorb light in dark spaces and confuse senses/sensors but the cloth itself is not going to make one concealed... you are visible, you can stand out to visuals and motion tracking but thermal, force senses, auditory sensors.
- Scarcity: The Atrisian Kyushi who weave the silks are reclusive and the bolts only a few traded a year. Making kimono's and outfits of them hard to find and exponentially increasing its value for offworlders.
- Covered: The silks are protective to a point, they need to be covering the area to protect it and even then they are not going to make it perfect as kinetic impacts can still harm.
A valuable piece of Atrisian culture, the shadow towers, the sunless lands, the ebony haired and dark honey skinned Kyushi of Atrisia are exotic. Their spices, their poisons, their dancing and silks... the silks being something rare and handcrafted by each clan. With a similar feeling and design. It is something that they can wear and it has been given as rare gifts to empresses and emperors, visiting kings and queens. The rarity and value of it being equal to vine silk in its pricing to offworlders and its value as a protective silk comparable to shell spider silk is mostly for its protective qualities being woven by the Kyushi.
They spent time and centuries creating the best combination of beauty and protection possible that many might consider exotic. Still there are some mysteries about it like its sound dampening capabilities and how it tricks sensors and some senses. The smell of exotic spices is always there i the air for throwing off tracking kappa and force users have said it makes sensing the wearers slippery in the force where they know they are there but they just can't focus mentally on them.
Unlike many of the other materials, the silk has not changed... improvements to its design and manufacturing have changed allowing it to be better produced but it can still be just as hard to come by. The protective qualities are there as well as a better emans to produce it allowing Sasori to sell it for the distinguished buyers across the galaxy at prices few others can match. It is a rare enough commodity that super star destroyers can be bought from a single bolt.
