Riley's attention turned to the sound of the new voice. A girl a few years younger than Riley had come in calling Betty her mama. Then Betty introduced the girl as Allya, or Summer. "Hello." Riley greeted the younger girl. So this was the sister Kandi seemed to have a problem with? Riley wondered why, since the Allya seemed pleasant enough.

While the others helped their sister, Betty brought the conversation back to where Riley was from. She wasn't really sure what else to tell them about the place, other than what happened there. Her eyes went briefly to her hands, now covered in armor and hiding all her prosthetics from view. That was a painful story for another time. She looked up at the woman when she said that kidnappings like that were still happening around the galaxy. "I know. I've tried to stop it a few times before." Then Betty wished Riley luck that she would find her own family someday. A sad look graced Riley's features for a moment. "Y...yeah, me too. I just...don't know where to look, or even start."

Her thoughts drifted quickly to the pictures she saw in the living room. One had been of the whole family, including the young girl that kinda looked like herself. Betty had named all the kids she had, or so Riley thought. Except she was one name short and the young girl didn't look like Kandi or Allya. Betty had mentioned that babies were still being taken from their families like Riley had. So this raised a question in Riley's mind. "Did..you lose someone as well to the Hutts?" She quickly berated herself at the question, for not thinking of what wounds it could open. "I'm sorry. Didn't mean to bring that up."

Dinner had been set and food was goin' around the table. Betty listened to Riley speak and if it was one thing that Barret Tejas had taught his daughter it was that there's no sense in beatin' around the bush. She took a moment to get herself right. Food was an awfully good way of keepin' focus on somethin' else while tryin' mind your words. Did she want to mind her words? Not really, but there was Jimmy to consider. That was an excuse she immiedately thought as a dozen thoughts rushed in her mind. "Normally, I'd accept the apologies but I don't think that one needs to be expected." She addressed Riley directly while casually moving her fork to her plate. "I think the moment I laid eyes on you, I had my suspicions, but I don't like to get my hopes up."

For all of Betty's indiscretions with one Isley Verd, or Vi'dreya as he was goin' by these days. She still had her share of children with her husband Jo, [member="Daisy Americus"] was one of them, along with Jimmy and his sister [member="Andi Americus"]. The youngest of her brood with Jo was sittin' right in front of her, and Betty was more sure than ever of it. "Jo and I had four babies somewhere between me and Isley havin' our own set, and well, I'll be honest with you Riley. You look an awful lot like my Melissa."

"Not sayin' that you and her are one in the same, because - by Manda what a miracle, but if you were her. I'd ask for two things, one gettin' a DNA sample to be sure and two time to spend with you." Betty's hands shook a little but her voice did not waver. She locked her gaze onto Riley and waited for her answer, while Kandi slowly put her fork down and waited to see what happened. Her attention drifted to [member="Allya Vi'Dreya"] briefly if only to caution her. If this Riley was in fact Melissa then it meant that they had another sibling, if it wasn't then they needed to be prepared to handle Betty.

Riley raised an eyebrow in curiosity as [member="Betty Americus"] said that there was no apology needed in this situation. Then went on to say that she had her suspicions when she first saw Riley. This had the girls attention and her curiosity as to what suspicions and hope the woman had.

Then Betty went on to explain that she had several children, some with Jo and the rest with Isley. What Betty said next made Riley freeze in place. She said that Riley looked an awful lot like Melissa, a child of hers.

Words seemed to fail Riley as she tried to process what was just said to her. Was she really the child of Betty? Honestly Riley couldn't remember anything before the time she was kidnapped, and this woman felt very familiar. Then there was the picture in the other room of a young girl who looked like her. Riley put her fork down when Betty mentioned getting a DNA test to make sure. She gave a nod as she finally found words to speak. "I..I can do the DNA sample, yes. Also the spending time part."
