Tmoxin licked her dry lips, and with one hand rubbed the side of her face, smearing her bright red lipstick. She felt incredibly strange, and off in the distance, she knew something was very wrong with her state of mind. But euphoria took hold again, and she couldn’t remember…

What was I thinking about? Oh yes, Mr. Cordel and his purple suit.

“Lucien, I’m glad you aren’t hurt,” she said, keeping her thoughts of his poor fashion choices to herself, but he appeared to be fascinated by a stuffed bear and rambling on about kings and plans. “I don’t feel well,” she agreed. “I hit my head on something when the shuttle crashed.”

Tmoxin blinked and the stuffed bear was now a human baby. She didn’t remember Mr. Cordel having a baby with him, but no matter. They needed to get this strange child to safety.

“I think we should evacuate and especially make sure that baby is safe,” she said, pointing to the toy in his arms.

She turned to Daniel Trask, suddenly noticing the other passenger.

“Sir, are you okay?”

Protector of The Iron Realm

The crate came crashing down with a thunderous sound. The clash of metal on metal echoed out to the surrounding perimeter. The Gutkurrs were startled. Their heads darted from left to right. Their eyes cast over the debris ridden desert in front of them. The strange noise emitted from the Gutkurrs once more, but it was sharper this time, more primal. The crashing sound of the crate had rattled them. Inquisitively, they began to search the area. Slowly, cautiously, step by step they drew closer to the shuttle.

Isamu pressed his body against the metal wall of the shuttle, and dropped to one knee. He took a deep breath, and slowly his head peaked out of the shuttle bay opening. His eyes scouted the crash site. The Gutkurrs controlled the area around the crash site. There was no opening, no escape route for the injured soldier and sith.

A voice drew Isamu’s attention away from the pack of Guttkurs. “Commander” The Sith Lord said. “My lightsaber.” Orcus motioned towards the lightsaber. Isamu pushed himself off the wall of the shuttle, and walked to Orcus, retrieving the lightsaber along the way. He handed the lightsaber to Orcus, before informing him of their situation. “We won’t be escaping, my lord. The Guttkurs are on the prowl. With both of our injuries, we’d be an easy feast for the Gutkurrs.”

Isamu opened the emergency kit. Water, food, clothing, none of it would be useful if they were to be torn limb from limb by the Guttkurs. A blaster rifle, and an emergency beacon, those were the only useful items Isamu found. He activated the emergency beacon, and it started broadcasting their position.

Isamu raised the blaster rifle to eye-level, and looked down the iron sights. He aimed the blaster in different directions before lowering it. He ejected the battery pack, checking to see it worked. “No choice.” Isamu said as he slapped the battery pack back into the rifle. “We’ll have to make a stand until the recovery team arrives.”

Ryloth was meant to be friendly. This was supposed to be danger free or her Father would never have let her go. He'd thought it would be a good experience for her. To see the Floating Rock Gardens. The famed Companions. Which was an interesting dichotomy. Her Father held them in high esteem, but would never dream of letting her join. Regardless of the respect and credits she could make, she was to be held back, saved, his last and best bargaining piece. But, such was life, there was no point raging against it. She simply found a way to live a second life, a secret life.

None of this mattered however, since it looked like she was about to die in a shuttle crash. Wonderful. Fully webbed in, head between knees in the classic kiss your shebs behind position all the safety pamphlets instructed you take, Jeong waited, trying not to tense, to brace, as hard as that was. The crash when it came was violent, there were cries, some cut short. Jeong was jolted this way and that, the webbing digging into and no doubt bruising delicate skin.

As soon as it was over, though the shuttle continued to ping and those who survived groaned or cried out, Overdrive was searching for a connection, using the system in her eyes to try and connect to the holonet, to find information. She found... Nothing. No signal. No connection.

Now she was frightened. When they'd just been crashing, it had been simple. There was nothing she could do, she would survive or not. Now however... Now. Shot down, so assume hostile territory, and she was alone and without her greatest tool. This realization, this being forced to exist only in the current, present moment made her really take stock. The scent of charred bodies in the air, the blood and maimed forms when she cast her eyes about. She nearly switched them off.

She did tear herself desperately out of the webbing, bile rising in the back of her throat, throwing herself out of the shuttle, not through a door, through a great rend in the vehicle itself, before becoming reacquainted with her last meal. A trembling hand rose to wipe her her mouth.

The face of [member="Tmoxin Temi"] was restored to normal, lipstick stain and all. If Lucien felt something was off he didn't acknowledge it, why would he ? He was going to get a king ... Lucien had never wanted royalty but suddenly it felt very important. Very very important.

Lucien hummed in acknowledgement of whatever it was Tmoxin had said about her welfare. He had not been listening ... the bear had been talking about kings, men and violets. He smiled up at Tmoxin "Ofcourse" He replied then a few moments later she announced they should leave. That seemed prudent to lucien ... He was a touch confused by her mention of a baby though, it took him sometime to fathom that the bear must have been disguising as a baby to fool her ... clever bear.

"She thinks your a baby, what should I say?" He asked peering down at the bear

"Men of few words are the best men." came the reply.

Of course Lucien thought. Silence was good. Nothing could go wrong if he didn't talk. He tried to stay quite but he couldn't telling Tmoxin she was wrong was now a compulsion. He had to talk.

"It's not a baby , It's a bear ... A bear! " He screamed. Then holding the bear by the arms he made it roar complete with full sound effects "See" He added.

That was better . Much better. He turned back to his father the bear "Father, are we in danger?"

"This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say, 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian:'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say, 'These wounds I had on Crispin's day.'
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words," The bear responded

"Oh" Lucien replied with a raised eyebrow. It didn't seem like an answer to him but the bear knew best.

A large flipper wrapped around the enormous hilt. The familiar ridges and texture of the cold, metal cylinder brought reassurance.

"Thank you, commander."

The world looked clearer now, with the last shreds of unconsciousness in full flight. Orcus tried to move again, but immediately regretted the motion as fresh pain surged through his being. With a sigh, he leaned his head against the wall.

If only he still wore the orbalisks. He would not need to feel such pain, such helplessness. But would he give up his freedom for a life enslaved to power? In some ways, perhaps he already had. He clung jealously to what little he had left, mindful of the massassi glyph burnt into the flesh of his forehead.

A scrabbling came from close by and a feral creature stuck a wicked maw through the fractured hull of the shuttle, seeking entry. Orcus pointed at it, drawing [member="Isamu Baelor"]'s attention.

"We must barricade the hole, commander."

For all his physical prowess and the terrifying destruction held in his lungs, the most he could do was give orders. Today was not the first day he had longed for the abilities so typical to those who wielded the Force, to move objects with his mind, or befuddle the thoughts of others, but it might be his last.

Cryax Bane, friend to the Techno Union, had a soft spot for Twi'leks. When he was the President of the Red Ravens crime syndicate, he hired many a Lekku'ed dancer for Antecedent's many bars and casinos, places he imagined were now in disrepair. So when the Techno Union put out the call for businessmen and women alike to help revitalize Ryloth by building housing and medical facilities in the underground city of Kala'uun, he set a course for the harsh rocky homeworld of the Twi'leks. It was excellent PR for the slandered Imperial Governor of Csilla. While he was there he would need some company, and rather than troll Space Grindr for a hookup, he decided to bite the bullet and finally ask his friend and fellow business luminary, Marek Starchaser out on a date.

Kala'uun did not have any establishments that resembled a fine restaurant, so Cryax had to settle for a Ryll den named Mygwryr's deep below the mountain where Kala'uun lay. Dressed in a smart, black three piece suit and tie, he waited for his date, a Sonic Servodriver in his hand and blue floating screens of his ARCs dancing around his face. Maybe if the date went well, they could go hiking up on the Lonely Five Range in the morning. Did Marek even like hiking?

Marek Starchaser was… why was he on the former capital of the Rebel Alliance? Right, to fill the time between [member="Tmoxin Temi"] leaving and when she’d get back. Man had needs, and well, sometimes he liked to fill them, with whatever came around. Also, if he had a way to start breaking, he didn’t know, Rebel infrastructure so they could quit showing up all over the galaxy and would lose any kind of staging ground on Ryloth? He’d be all for that as well. And would probably do what he could to cause a massive amount of damage to any remaining Selectivist structure.

As soon as he broke your gender norms.

If he was going to be coming to this world, that once housed the biggest enemy of the state of the Techno Union, he was going to do so flanked by a pair of HWDs and they were going to do their best to remove anything that looked like the Alliance’s property.

His time since Geonosis has only really accomplished one thing, making him colder. Still, he needed to pass the time until the …whatever color her hair was Hapan came back. And that meant going back into the black book, and whatever app was installed on his datapad to try to find something to do on Ryloth.

He could only get so drunk and teabag so many statues. The whole thing that was going on though? That meant he was getting called out by [member="Cryax Bane"] on a date. That… was commitment.

That was terrifying, and for whatever reason the hedonist said yes. Couldn’t they just go get plastered and ruin a hotel room? Or the former Selectivist Leader’s Office?

The Judiciary, a Lucrehulk-Class Command Carrier, hovered ominously near the back of the Techno Union's flotilla. Within its command deck, Gerion Ardik stood observing the proceedings, and of course was frowning deeply. The view screen suddenly indicated the loss of quite a few shuttles, most of which had been carrying important personnel. Since the Judiciary was situated out of the flotilla's way, there was no indicator of what had caused the sudden blackout with the shuttles. It probably had something to do with the enemy cruiser that just entered the system. The other ships had already moved to take care of it, but as of yet it hadn't been identified.

Gerion was less concerned about that and more concerned about all those named characters who might have died in shuttle crashes. "What's the status on those transports? Any word?"

The captain, or what passed as one, tried his best to answer while fiddling with his console. "We, uh, lost 'em. Dunno."

Of course he didn't know.

"Do we have an indicator as to what happened?"

"Prolly EMP. Uh, y'know, electromagnetic-"

"I know what an EMP is, you idiot." Gerion snapped. "Where did it come from?"

Shrinking back after the Umbaran snapped at him, the captain spoke cautiously. "I, uh, haven't been in-, uh, informed." He paused, then decided to make something up for a more satisfactory answer. "The, uh, the planet, actually. Yeah. Selectivist, uh, Ion emplacements. Everywhere. Took out all the, uh, shuttles."

"Who was in charge of reconnaissance?"

"The, uh, the Sass chick."

Gerion raised an eyebrow.

"Uhhhhhh," the good captain prolonged that hesitation for as long as was necessary for him to look it up within the ship's databanks. "[member="Venussia Sasko"]."

"Send for her, please."

The captain tried not to notice how Gerion seemed to anger at the mention of her name, but nevertheless paged for Venussia to make her way to the command deck.

Venussia Sasko wondered why she had been picked for this reconnaissance mission. It wasn't like she had a ton of experience beyond showing up at board meetings and trying not to sleep through them. And it's not like she was even good at that. That one time she taped her eyes open? Yeah, everyone caught on to that pretty quickly. Still, selectivism was lame, and Ven didn't like lame things, so the CEO was on a Lucrehulk-class battleship, helping the Techno Union make sure there weren't any selectivists still hiding in the crevices of Ryloth.

Her commlink pinged, and some lackey informed her that she was being summoned to the bridge about that matter of the missing shuttles. With an epic eye roll, she left her post and made her way to the bridge where her Gerion Ardik was waiting. He was Ven's favorite.

"Commander Ardik," she said. "I guess you called? Or something?"

She really hoped that the missing shuttles meant that there was another rapture coming, and maybe those people in the shuttles were just deemed too stupid to live. Venussia was from Wildspace. She could handle another apocalypse.

"Or something, yes." Gerion answered, turning around to face her. "Captain Teebow here has informed me that you were placed in charge of reconnaissance."

Behind the Umbaran, standing at the captain's station for the vessel, Captain Teebow was starting to sweat bullets. He perhaps had been hoping [member="Venussia Sasko"] would blow off Gerion and keep doing whatever it was that she was doing. Oh well. Whatever scathing ridicule was coming, Teebow could probably handle it. He was a simple man with simple aspirations, after all.

"Tell me, were you aware of any, I don't know, Ion cannon emplacements being set up by selectivist holdouts?"

Cryax had to admit, at first glance, when Starchaser arrived he seemed a bit...depressed? Angry? Whatever that shadow across his face was, it made the man seem much less ebullient than he had been on Bastion with Sitara Qin on his arm. Cryax had just the cure for Marek's mood. Copious amounts of drugs, alcohol, and plenty of other unmentionable vices.

As Marek approached, he ordered two more Sonic Servodrivers and a half-dozen cryovials of Ryll. The crunker he and Marek got the better. Added bonus? The more credits they spent at Myrgwyr's, the bigger the boost to the Ryloth economy. Captialism was a beautiful thing.

He smiled widely at his friend, rising from his seat to give him a kiss on the cheek. The man smelled like a Correllian ale factory. Wrinkling his nose, Cryax drew back and pushed the Sonic Servodriver across the table.

"Glad you could come at such short notice," he said with a flash of white teeth. A crease formed on his blue brow as two glittering red orbs studied Starchaser's chiseled jawline.

"Hey, are you ok, man?"

[SIZE=10pt]Consciousness returned slowly to Raziel. He raised his head from his chest and blinked away the fog. There were people moving back and forth across the shuttle. There were making so much noise. He giggled. There was a smell. An odd smell, but it wasn’t really there. Like almonds being crushed. There was something he was doing. Something that took concentration. He stopped doing it. His presence in the Force unfurled like a flower, revealing his position as a powerful user of the dark side. He sighed. That was better. Xander Blackmoore and Thais Kallisto, nobility in their own right, didn't need to break in to the estates of any feudal lords near Lessu. They were already there visiting Lord Paulk, a human merchant who lived on Ryloth. It was a business meeting as Lord Paulk wanted to establish a contract with the Kallisto Mining Corporation. The Ryloth estate was not as grand as either palace owned by the King and Princess, but it was well appointed and lavishly decorated. The three of them were conducting these talks in a plush sitting room. The Princess was extremely bored and already tired of Lord Paulk, who she found to be overly frugal and verbose.

Napo came tentatively into the room, appearing very apologetic, but Thais was glad to see him if only to get away from the drudgery of Lord Paulk. At least she had the company of Xander, her newest adviser - which is what she called him to her court, although they all really knew he was her lover - who's handsome face was a nice distraction from the meeting.

"Excuse me," he said and bowed to each of the nobles. "I need to borrow Princess Kallisto for a moment." The Gutretee glanced warily at King Blackmoore, hoping he was not going to attract the Sith Lord's ire.

"Very well," she said, rising. "I will be one moment. Please excuse me, Lord Paulk."

When she went into the hallway, Napo procured a datapad and showed her the news streaming in about the Starchaser Proviso. "This Lord Paulk is on a list, Your Majesty."

"A list for what?"

"The Techno Union wants him brought to Lessu immediately."

This perked her interest right up as Princess Kalllisto longed to be on the Executive Council of the Techno Union, if only to continue spreading her influence and wealth across the galaxy. She wanted to leave a legacy to her heir after all.

"Fetch King Blackmoore at once. I want him to see this news as well."

Xander had been doing more of his fair share of negotiating for the Techno Union. He sighed of boredom as the man they were being entertained by had nothing of any real value to offer. Were it not for Thais wanting a mine here, he would likely just kill the man and leave. In fact when Thais left the room, Xander was tempted to just that. The Sith was about to when Napo came into the room a second time, this time for Xander himself. A nod was all Xander used to excuse himself. He was a King after all, and had no reason to say anything. His eyes fell on Thais as he exited into the room where she was waiting for him.

"Please tell me we are about to engage in a game of let's not get caught. I have never been so board in my life. This man could t even keep a jester happy."

Perhaps it was an exaggeration, but Xander did find it funny. His humor was dry. He was partly serious though. Spending time with Thais was always more enjoyable than any negotiation. However, she seemed to have something to tell him. Suddenly Xander hoped this little discussion was about to get more exciting.

"What is it, love? You look as though you've come across quite a bounty of good fortune."

Thais gave Xander a knowing look as he came out of the room, both at his flirtation, and his assessment that Lord Plauk was a dullard.

"We may able to take an unguided tour of the estate after all," she said. "Look here." She leaned into him and showed him the news that Napo had found on the datapad. It appeared that Lord Plauk was under an Executive Order to head to Lessu and sign the Starchaser Proviso to outlaw slavery across Ryloth. Anyone who brought him to Lessu (alive of course) would be paid 35,000 credits and could take what they wanted from the estate.

"It seems that our host is a wanted man," said Thais. "He does have some valuable artwork, I've noticed."

It was ironic that the Princess considered participating in this operation to strong-arm a known slave purchaser into signing an anti-slavery agreement. While Thais wouldn't say she was highly involved in human trafficking, on Isis she still owned slaves, and one of her main advisers, Crix Meriet was a slaver himself. But they were on Ryloth where the laws were different. The Techno Union was much more strict on rules concerning slaves.

"What do you think?" On tiptoes, Thais reached up and whispered into Xander's ear. "Once we retrieve Lord Plauk for the Techno Union, we could play that game of which you spoke."

"Well isn't this a fortunate turn of events. Time for you to put your influence over him to work," Xander said with a grin.

It was obvious the eyes of the wealthy noble had been on Thais for the entire discussion. Her attire was rather flattering, but the man had been looking olaces his eyes should only have looked once. Xander was convinced he was trying to figure out how to get Thais alone. Now it was time to put this to their use. First though, Xander had to teach her how to unlock her force potential.

"The man has been undressing you with his eyes all day. It means he is most suceptable to you. You can invade his mind, make him want to come with us to sign the order, and we make it out with 35,000 easy. Then we come back here to take what we want."

He smiled at her whisper, and wrapped his arms around her. Xander pressed a kiss to her lips. That game was exactly what would be the thing to get him through the rest of the doldrum of their assignment. This might be the first time Xander didn't kill anyone.

Thais hadn't noticed Lord Plauk's unwanted attention, probably because she was daydreaming during most of their business discussion. Her silken dress was form-fitting, but not overly revealing. Still, it appeared that the feudal lord, who was in his fifties, had an eye for the young ladies. It was rumored that he owned Twi'lek slaves, kept in the estate somewhere. She could only imagine he saw her as property as well.

Previously, Xander had only hinted at knowledge of Thais's Force power. She knew very little of the nobleman's use of it. But it seemed this would be a test of sorts to see how well she would do with a Mind Trick.

Either way, Princess Kallisto got the reaction she was looking for by whispering him a promise of things to come if they were left alone in the estate. He grabbed her playfully and kissed her, obvlious to the awkward stare of Napo who remained in the background.

"You are going to have to guide me at every step," she said. "Like our night on Indupar, there are other things I have not done before. This is one of them." Thais kept both of her arms around him and said, "When will I get to teach you something, Your Majesty?" She was half-way joking, but perhaps she could learn something from the attractive and sought-after Twi'leks here on Ryloth. She longed to surprise him with something novel that either he did not know, or did not think she was capable of.

Crix was in a day three of his sulk. He had been harshly reprimanded by the royal whore and her new bed warmer, it seemed they objected to the consequences of stabbing him in the back publically. Where he not reliant upon the princess for the standard of living to which he was recently accustomed he would have left her service. She had wounded his pride though her and her king and for that he would have his revenge, not that day nor any day soon to come but there would come a time when he would be standing over their battered corpses, then they would be some way to being square.

Crix might have been booted down to secondary advisor but he still got dragged around on the princess galavant across the universe. God she annoyed him so. Less now that she was a little less like porcelain but still she infuriated him all the same. However like a good little lap dog he had limped along behind her still not fully recovered from the beating he'd suffered. To look at him one would think he had been through a warzone with the way he acted. In truth he had suffered little more than bruises , to both his boy and pride, a sprained ankle and a sore wrist. He was likely over egging the pudding as it were but he wanted Thais to regret what she had ordered ... let her regret it now before he had rammed regret down her throat, it meant more when he hadn't directly forced it.

Throughout the meeting Crix had sat a little off to the side his feet in Toby's lap whilst the man attended to his suffering ankle and rubbed his tired feet, He had told his Darlin' that he had injured himself falling down stairs. It would kill his lover to know that crix had suffered on his account. He smiled down at Toby, just alittle his slave was good to him. That was another benefit of over exaggerating his suffering it gave Toby an excuse to be far more affectionate for his gentle ministrations would not be viewed as acts of affection but as acts of obedience. gentle touches to soothe pain not build bonds. He had grown very bored really , he hated Thais and he hated meetings with sops this meeting was practically torture but at least he had his Toby. His attention pricked back up however as the two royals left first the woman then her lover. In the days before Xander Crix would have rose to involve himself but as stated he was sulking ... let them rush around like the fools they were and flirt as if no one knew, if they wanted his advice they'd ask.

"I'm sure it must have been a most important matter for their highnesses to leave you mid sentence My lord ... I apologize on their behalf" he said looking to this slaver ... his goose was likely cooked.

In the back of the shuttle, the figure of one Jak Sandrow dangled from seatbelts still barely holding him to his chair. A small line of green sap trailed from his hair down his face to his jaw, where it pooled and fell off in slow, viscous drops. Eyelids fluttering, he woke with a groan. "... oww.... where...?" Looking up slowly, he saw two people by the impromptu entrance, both of which had been on the shuttle with him. He hadn't managed to learn their names, but now he kind of regretted that.

"Hey..." he croaked. Water... need some water... "help..."
