"Fried bugs, coming up." he said over his shoulder as he began firing aimed shots at the soldier attempting to get towards them. "I'd really like to learn how you do that fire stuff..."

Then he turned his full attention to the doorway, and keeping it clear. Every shot from his blasters scorched a soldier's carapace, but didn't have nearly the same effect as the disruptor had.

Thraxis took his time, admiring the tenacity of the Trandoshan, a slight smile warping across his face as he dug his fingers into his mask, a short twist and crack and slowly he peeled it off, placing it onto the counter. He looked back and fourth, "No one here...." he mumbled as he went back to rummaging through his duffel bag, pulling out a small phial, the look of the cork almost corroded at the bottom from the content as he snapped it off, an instant perfume of a cocktail spreading throughout the room as he shook the container, a tiny layer of sediment seeping through and turning the crystal clear liquid a murky black before tossing it down his throat.

For a brief second a look of distress washed over him, his eyes tightening as his entire body seized before letting loose a hardened cough, that same perfume of alcohol sweeping from his every word as a flash appeared over his Comm, "Ah good" he declared, his body snapping into order as he looked tot he Trandoshans, "We got support Boys, so lets not be going and blowing them to smithereens." he clarified, giving a hardy slap on the back to one of the Trandoshans, a look of horror rushing him for a second before not hearing his death explode in front of him.

Quickly he scamperred away, he might not fear death, but going in an explosion and not in a fight was a hell of a way to go out in shame, he took his station outside the front of the building, being exposed to any dangers they might face but if he could get reinforcements, then who was he to complain about one death. There was bound to be more approaching anyway. As he took his station he opened his comms straight back to the rest of El Dorado, "Okay guys, need a quick update, set a Trandoshan earlier but...." he trailed off, his head bouncing back and fourth "Well, I haven't been gotten back to on that, so can I get an update on all positions?" he asked quizzically, at this point, he knew there were Trandoshans with guns and Causstik. He had yet to see the leader of El Dorado, though it seemed the group had gotten along fairly well so far without their assistance.

"Universal healthcare coverage. Usually that means long wait times: we know it because we have that in place"

"Even though I usually warn new apprentices in Force-healing that they shouldn't expect near-instant healing every single time, perhaps you should consider hiring Force-healers in the public healthcare system: that ought to keep the costs down, at least for insurers"

"Where does health insurance fit in this?"

"It allows to keep co-pays down"

Cathul was trying hard to think of ways to brush off Tetrus' allegations that she was actually in Confederate service. Based on her experience of Confederate healthcare, under the Second Confederacy, access to healthcare is highly uneven at best, and medical tourism was a big thing given the decentralized nature of the Confederacy. Low co-pays would allow people who need most health insurance coverage to actually have access to medications and off-world treatments; universal healthcare coverage doesn't cover medications but allows equitable surgeries, access to healthcare professionals. If everyone on Jabor was to have health insurance plans, the question is whether public or private by now. Cathul is simply being asked what the insurance implications are. But never, ever they would have dreamed that, as a Jedi, she would be overtly advocating the training and deployment of Force-healers to keep the societal costs down.

"If [member="Gregor Montague "]is going to bring some kind of gunship our odds will improve significantly," the droid observed sagely. His programming told him the tank guns could take out a small ship but lacked the same kind of mobility and range. "If they're careful, of course."

Snote worm stew sounded...slimy. Mephite was glad that he didn't have to eat anything. Meatbags and their need for sustenance puzzled him. At least they'd acquire more explosives because they'd definitely be needing them.

Having been in deep sleep from having a long shift the previous night he feels a great shake and wakes up, opening eyes he scans around the room quick, no one, getting up he hears some noises not fit for this ship. Getting his blaster and some decent clothes on he opens the door and checks the hallway, he barely glimpses the tail end of the creatures boarding the ship. Taking that as a bad sign he figured the best place to go and started going down the opposite side of the hallway and started moving down each hallway checking each corner as he goes. As Ben moves along he hears the sounds of blaster fire, a lighsabre and a crazy viking Jar jar? Shrugging the last thought off he started making his way towards the noises his blaster aimed as he turned the corner and saw the group getting attacked by the Charon. Taking aim he started shooting at the backs of the Charon taking some down before the back ranks decided to turn on him.

Causstik was hit in the back by a flying Duros. The creature bounced off and landed to the ground with a thud. Causstik hardly even noticed. He merely watched as miss Saede and her crew made their hasty exit.

"That's what I thought..." he turned to face the bar tender once more and paid for six kegs of ale. He hoisted a tub onto his shoulder and with a flick of his head motioned for his squad of Trandoshan's to grab the rest and follow him out. They made their way through the streets and noticed smoke rising into the air. As they walked through the windy roads the locals would quickly disappear into their houses. The battle had truly begun. He spotted drop ships landing near by. Gregor's ships by the looks of it. Good to have more support. The man was a fine Captain and a cunning warrior.

Once at the HQ Causstik and his squad mates set the kegs down. The place was littered with swashbucklers of all shapes and sizes. Pirates stood and sat wherever they could. The alcohol was quickly flooded and Causstik had to struggle through the masses to find Thraxis. He had received the Zeltron's transmission, but wanted to speak in person.

"Hello Thraxisss, you've been wondering where the crew has been. Well Dessssmond and the droid have been harrsasssing the armored column. As for the ressst I am unsure," He would then present the man with a tankard of ale. "What Desmond has to say about the enemy will dictate the lives of thessse faithful T'doshk here," he motioned to the suicide bombers with the wave of a hand.

One was missing though. Causstik scratched his chin in puzzlement. (Secretly the Trandoshan bomber had decided to take as much time as he could gathering the report. He was very determined to live)

"I somehow doubt you will be able to set up shop here"

"I would love to set up shop here but there is a third service I would ask permission to offer"

"What is it?"

"Realty!"

He questioned Cathul's Jedi-hood by now: never, not even a Confederate Jedi, would attempt to offer all three of realty, insurance and banking without being tempted by the dark side. Triple the services, triple the temptations to the dark side, they thought. But as she knew it, as far as she knew about the operation of major corporations, what her corporation did would reflect on her, and what she did would reflect on the corporation, she learned that the hard way on Kriselist. And Jessica, too. For any sufficiently big corporation, it's impossible to dissociate the corporate identity from the identity of the owner, if the owner is an individual. That was one warning she heard on multiple occasions in the Force. But she is more determined than ever to make this corporation work and take off the fiscal pressure from the Galactic Alliance's denizens. One of Ugohr's new recruits called for 1) Jedi to own and run corporations and 2) from there, have Jedi fund their operations based on corporate cashflow (and possibly production) from Jedi-owned corporations.

Everything seemed to unfold in a chaotic mess. For the empath, it was multiplied tenfold when one considered the backlash of emotions evoking a perfect storm of panic, alarm, determination, and bravery.

From the edge of her hearing, Saffron heard someone cry out to get down. The Companion scrambled to the ground, tumbling onto all fours before attempting to get to her feet. Her heart felt as if it was thundering at her ears, finally finding the courage or perhaps the resonating mental push to simply move.

As the corridor was cleared of the Charon, Saffron managed to find a place to duck behind near [member="Ajira Cardei"]. [member="Zark"] and the others were nearby enough to choke down the remaining Charon attacking them, but the lull would not last.

With eyes as wide as saucers, the empath swallowed hard. She was made to help keep things calm, yet this was the most the blonde had ever felt completely overwhelmed. Staring up, her eyes met those of the mocha skinned woman.

Everything felt as if she were being tossed about in a kaleidoscope of emotions. Some made sense. Others did not. What she felt coming from the woman was as complex as it was simple. However, as Saffron was still learning to harness her skills and mentally block others, the end results did not make sense.

"What are those things?" she managed to choke out.

With the calculations and the plan set, all that was left was for the approval by Her Majesty and Aurum Saccs would be able to move forward with the proposed plan.

While the Minister of Finance excused himself, Noire would wait patiently in the conference room. Pulling up her datapad, the brunette brought up the display.

A small map of the sector along with her appointment schedule bloomed across the display with a tap of her finger.

From here she would travel to the Hapuntep System, where the Companion would meet with the Crown Prince of Hapuntep.

Hapuntep was a small arid, desert world. It was filled with plentiful oasis, dune seas, rivers, and an exotic culture with grand pyramids that rose to the skies. Their leaders considered themselves to be gods, an attribute likened having to do with the genetic memory given to their progeny.

"How should I know?" Ajira snapped, then grimaced. If Saffron was anything like her genetic donor, she'd be an empath, maybe insightful enough to get a read on Ajira through the adrenaline. That could be bad. She'd have to avoid deception, just go with natural half-truths and general taciturnity. "They're Charon," she said grudgingly, continuing to fire though the fight was moving out of her sightline. "Kayri, Otherspace. Extradimensional fanatics, by all accounts. Seen the gray space outside?"

Her pistol clicked empty for the second time. She hefted the chrome pistol, ready to use it as a blunt instrument should a Charon come this way.

"My last powerpack is out. I'm pulling back; stay behind me."

She kept to the cover of a hall corner, then a door. That put them in, well, a storage closet, but good enough for now. She locked the door as a long screech of chitin on durasteel filtered in from the hall they'd just left.

"You see any other way out in case this door doesn't hold?"

--------------------------

Tiland paused at the doorway for the hangar as the others followed. He smiled at their comments- it was always good to meet young folk. They had so much energy and enthusiasm for things. Not much patience or wisdom, but they certainly had energy and that counted for something, even if others who reached a more advanced age would disagree. He turned, raising an eyebrow at HK-36.

"Overslept?" Tiland asked, a smile shifting beneath his beard, "I have not done so in close to a hundred years." He nodded as the two youngsters arrived, all quite surprised at the sound of the tank engines. "I was preparing my medical supplies."

He bowed quickly to them both, "Padawan Poro, there is Light in our meeting. You may call me Tiland. Master is a title for the elderly." That last comment carried another hint of a smile, but he rose to his full height and then proceeded into the rest of the station. There were many beings here that he could sense. Some hiding from the madness, others seeking to profit. Others seemed to enjoy such chaos.

That feeling sent an ache through his heart. Such was the nature of life and he feared the young padawan had yet to learn such a heavy lesson. He would. All Jedi learned such things in time.

"HK," Tiland called back as he strode foroward, staff echoing, "I believe you were in the middle of a lesson when I interrupted. Please, continue."

Smoke wafted through some of the filtration vents. The metal beneath his feet rumbled and he knelt for a moment. They could wander the station all day long without ever approaching the source of the conflict. So he stretched out his mind in the Force, reaching out through the invisible ties that bound him to all the other living things in the universe. To exist in harmony with such bonds, that was the goal of a Jedi.

But there were others who sought to separate themselves from that harmony and place themselves above all the rest. Sith certainly, but many sentients without the ability to use the Force sought so as well. Not in such spiritual terms, but that was what they desired. He was seeking them now.

They carried a shadow in the Force, no matter how small and there was a cluster of them not far from here. He rose and gave a curt nod before striding through the hallways. But still, there were the tanks. It was a decision they would have to make before proceeding further.

"There is a gathering of sentients not far from here with ill-intent. But they are not the ones with the tank." He turned and leaned on the staff, eyeing the padawans. "What do you two think we should do in such a situation?"

"Are you sure you're a Jedi?"

"One instant you claimed that I was a Jedi in Confederate service, now you don't even think I'm a Jedi anymore"

"A Jedi dealing in only one of insurance, banking or realty is already hard enough to believe, a Jedi doing all three is just too big of a lie. Not even Confederates would attempt such a thing alone"

"I can do all three although I know I'm walking a fine line between the light and the dark"

"Stand by while the paperwork is being prepared"

Tetrus was about to prepare the paperwork containing the terms and conditions for the Jedi to start operating all three of insurance, banking and realty on Jabor. It would seem that her Jedi-ness would be both a boon and a liability. On the one hand, in territory that is at least neutral, IGR would, more often than not, get the benefit of the doubt due to Cathul being a light-sider. But to some people, being a Force-user dealing in three of the businesses most likely to lead Force-users to the dark side of the Force, was a risky business for a light-sider. Hence why she is one for the history books: for the first time in history she is a Jedi to run a bank. Never in galactic history has a Jedi been running a bank, let alone a major fixture in the Alliance financial space. Cathul patiently waited for the paperwork to be drafted and to come out. Once she signs the paperwork may construction begin.

The droid waved off Drystan's comment,

"Too much collateral, use something with more finesse like an armor piercing shattergun, knockout gas, or EMP grenades."

Tiland spoke then as they started to move through the station,

"I believe you were in the middle of a lesson when I interrupted. Please, continue."

The droid nodded,

"Yes, we were discussing the ethics of mercy and criminal behavior as well as stereotypes, ideologies, and point of view. I just presented to them a tale from the days of Ancient Republic when Sith raided a Jedi temple I was assigned to, personally led by their Emperor who I faced in a duel, as a simple lightsaber training droid back then. He was able to gain upper hand on me but then in a spell of hubris he turned his back to me and I cleaved him in two. His death stopped the overwhelming attack and I asked them whether that was the right choice or whether I should have attempted to take him prisoner."

HK would look to Poro then,

"While your views theoretically correct and ideological, the practice is often not so simple, I predict this question whether it is sometimes justified to take a life will plague through majority if not rest of your time with the Jedi Order. Remember that this is true for all of your brethren in the Order. After all was my encounter not so different from the fabled fight between Jedi Obi-Wan and Sith Darth Maul in his younger days when after the death of his master he cleaved the Sith in two to protect the Queen of Naboo? Or the Mandalorian Tale of Jango Fett's demise at the hands of Master Windu, decapitated during first battle of the Clone Wars when the Jedi could have easily disarmed him and taken him captive. Even the Skywalkers of Legends who brought a new age of Jedi Order preferred to see the Emperor dead rather than face trial."

He looked to Tiland as they trailed behind the Jedi,

"You, me, Young Master Tiland, Skywalkers, even old Yoda. We all have a Dark Side within us, anger, jealousy, we will never be free from it. You cannot ignore or deny it, but you must face it, accept it as part of you, and control it. Just because it is within you it does not mean that it can control your life. That is where the strength of the Jedi comes from, controlling your emotions and the darkness within you, doing the right thing no matter how difficult it may be."

HK looked back to Poro,

"But I present to you and Drystan another set of questions. What if it was the will of the Force for that Sith to die at my hands? Remember, he was a Lord, Emperor no less, and I did not had access to the same tricks I have now. If I tried to knock him out, he would have sensed me through the Force, all he needed was telekinesis, lightning, or ionization and I would have been defeated. But why was he not able to sense me about to slash at him? Surely the Force would have alerted him to the danger and he was fast enough, unless for some reason at that very moment the Force did not spoke to him, it was destined for him by the Force to die just how it is destined for some Jedi to exist eternally within the Force as beings known as Force Ghosts or Force Specters, retaining their will within the Living Force."

The droid continued,

"If that is true, is it possible for the Force and its Light Side to act through me just how it can act through the Jedi and use to me to do its will? And since we speak of Force Ghosts, would you say that they are alive?"

While HK let the two youngsters ponder the questions, Tiland spoke again,

"What do you two think we should do in such a situation?"

The droid witheld his comments, waiting for them to answer first as he looked about the area, he did note the designs of the tanks were similar to what he knew of Tenloss work, especially from the battles he fought alongside of their forces against the Sith, but unfortunately from the orbit his ships were not able to pick up any meaningful insignias or signs on their armored plates, so any guessed he had as to who owned the tanks were pretty much just speculations right now.

The Jedi were both very serene, very calm and peaceful, everything he'd been told to expect when encountering them and more. They seemed somewhat...idealistic, but again, that was entirely expected.

"There is no 'will of the Force'" He replied, walking off to one side of HK as they marched down the street. "Right now, I could walk over and shoot that...thing," He indicated a creature that watched them wearily as they passed. Perhaps some variant of a womp rat. Disgusting things. "Or...I could not. If the 'will of the force' dictated that the creature should live past today, then what would happen if I tried to kill it? Nothing. Then what happens to the will of the force? Is it thrown into chaos because this creature's life didn't live out it's meaning? Would the galaxy cease to exist? No, there is no will of the force, no cosmic influence that prevents each and every person from doing whatever is in their power to do. Only other people. If I wanted to end the miserable thing's life, the force wouldn't have anything to do with it, nor would it guide my hand if it was the will of the force that it should die. The only thing controlling whether I shoot it or not is trigger pressure."

Diplomacy and philosophical debate were perhaps not Drystan's strong points.

"Besides, HK, you did the right thing. Killing the leader of the forces attacking you, attacking children?" He shook his head, glancing sideways at Poro. Capture alive indeed. "It's impressive that you managed to kill him, subduing someone of that power would have been nearly impossible. Keeping such a foe contained, while his forces fought against your people? No, best to kill him and have done with it."

The whole light side, dark side debate was of course different for him. His people had different outlooks from the Jedi and the Sith, which no doubt would put them at odds with one another at some point. Still, they seemed a decent enough sort.

The mad hail of blaster bolts down the hallway would eventually cease, however the noise of the staff being fired would not,

PEW-PEW-PEW,

While Elpsis and Keric had their chat they may or may not have noticed that the Space Viking managed to get the blaster staff under control. Somewhat. He had its electrodes deactivated, pointing it down on the ground as he held it steady between his legs, knees clamped on it, the staff shaking and jolting with each bolt it fired in rapid successions, creating a very red, very hot spot on the floor. His fingers were frantically pressing on its buttons to deactivate it. He did manage to fire off a bolt from its other side, narrowly missing his own head, before finally shutting the blaster tubes within the weapon entirely. Or the gas clip ran out which was just as likely.\

Yan sighed, slumping back against the wall and somewhat relaxing, surrounded by the insectoid carcasses.

It would become very clear that the man was not really savy with contemporary Galactic technology, even something as common as a blaster.

Yan pushed himself up, switching to his black longbow and durasteel arrows he was much more familiar with, although taking the blaster staff along with him just in case he needed something in a melee. Coming up to Keric and Elpsis he would ask in the foreign largely forgotten language,

[Runian] "Burde vi ikke trekke seg tilbake til for hold og gruppe opp med andre?" (Shouldn't we retreat to the keep and group up with others?)

He would bring the tip of the arrow closer to Elpsis, using her fire-mane to set the projectile ablaze before he notched it on the bowstring, bringing up the primitive weapon up he would take aim down the corridor. He pulled on the bowstring with a grunt, straining as the arrow crawled back and the bow shaft bent, he was still not used to the much stronger Graphite used to make the bow, it required much more force than the wood bows he trained with.

Either way, he managed to pull it back far enough that he felt it was good to go. He let the arrow fly like an orange streak of flame through the air, cutting it with a whistle before it skewered a Chiron just pushing his way through the doorway opposite to them with a sickly crack and squish of insect flesh being pierced. The bug-man leaned back from the force of impact and collapsed, the black Graphite shaft of the arrow still embedded in its head, his flesh and chitin catching on fire and charring from the inside.

He snapped back from his own little daydream, his mind aflutter with all things nonsensical before hearing a new Trandoshans voice, one that managed to speak basic on at least just that level, Basic. "Ah finally, been waiting for an arrival." he said as he made his approach, taking the generous gift with care as a hand rolled between the mask and his skin, a short yet sharp twist before it rolled off and lazed about in the lack of wind on the space station, his other hand pouring it quickly down his throat before emptying it within a couple of seconds.

"Ahh, a good old hardy drink." he said as he finished, his hand running along his lips as specks of alcohol dripped down his chin, before taking his focus on Causstik's words, Ok... So Desmond is here... I suppose the droid is Mephite... And the others are Missing in Action... "Armored column? BANG-BANG-BANG

And so on and so forth. Blaster and plasma bolts flew everywhere, causing a bizarre light show that would look awesome in an action movie. The discharge of energy weapons was accompanied by the staccato of revolver fire.

Oh, and it seemed the security guy with the disruptor wanted to know how to summon fireballs. "Do you have a moment of time for our Goddess and Saviour, the Great White Wolf?" Elpsis deadpaned with the utmost seriousness.

The air was filled with the stench of burnt arachnid flesh, but the noise caused by the long screech of chitin on durasteel would not cease. Oh, and then the Scandinavian Jar Jar had the cool idea of using her firemane to create burning arrows!

Ok, that was kinda cool, Elpsis thought to herself when a bug-man's flesh and chitin caught fire after the arrow embedded itself in his skull. Was the term bug-man politically correct or did it count as racist? Eh, whatever. Elpsis was convinced that these creatures were abominations, perversions of her Goddess' creation.

"More bugs are coming. We're sitting ducks here. I'm gonna block their path for a bit. Let's pull back and see if anyone else is still alive," she growled. Putting her revolver away as its power packed turned out to be empty, she raised both her hands.

Bright light burst from them, just as Charon suddenly advanced forward by climbing on the walls and roof. Then she unleashed a wall of fire, a telekinetic wave of incandescent heat and flame. It would swept across the floor like a broom and rose up to the roof, engulfing the area ahead of them in flame. Burn baby burn!

"Let's go," she gripped the bow dude's shoulder to get his attention. Maybe since the dominion had almost reached one hundred posts, someone could get the hyperdrive working again, so that everyone could escape. Or perhaps this would require divine intervention.

"I mean, there's always time for..." he paused to fire a few more bolts into a bug, "that, though, perhaps after we see to our guests." He quoted back without losing his concentration.

His left hand blaster rang empty, and in a smooth motion he holstered it, switched his right hand woebringer to his left hand and drew the disruptor. In a feat of fairly impressive manual dexterity, he reloaded the disruptor charge while firing a bit slower with his left hand. He missed every time during this, but came close enough to keep the bugs a little honest.

When the Firemane said it was time to go, he rolled to his feet, holstered his woebringer, causing it to be holstered backwards, and took a two handed grip on his disruptor.

He admired the wall of flame she threw up, all while continuing to retreat further into the passenger hallways with her and the good doctor. He would only shoot the disruptor when he had a good kill shot to the head, taking his time to aim.

"Now Jabor will have a complete set of financial services at their disposal"

"Only time will tell whether the Alliance was right to trust you for providing these services"

"May the Force be with us all"

As the contract was being printed, Cathul took the time to review if the terms were in order for their deal with the Jabor authorities for the provision of banking, insurance and real estate. Now that was horizontal integration Jedi would often overlook. And, also a little bit of vertical integration. That was a deal they could take to the bank, even though said bank was Cathul's to operate. By now Cathul has to make sure she will actually operate said bank and not fall to the dark side, and that would be no small feat. Often the heroes are those who, against all odds, manage to pull off something that would be previously thought impossible, and she knew it. More than ever Jedi are taking an unprecedented place in the business world, and that means that, for the first time, an arena previously thought off-limits to Jedi and hence to the eternal struggle between light and dark, is wide open to them, even though it has been rather tame.
