Heavy version of the Stalgasin crowd control bomb

Image Source: Wikipedia Mk 84 bomb picture
Intent: To provide a bomb capable of large-scale crowd control, as well as of disabling electronics in a non-lethal manner
Development Thread: The capital Confederate sins (30 posts; here it is about the fallout from Jessica's participation in the two incidents of the Techno Empire, on Ryloth and on Geonosis, placed in its context, as told from the perspective of a dark-sided police interrogator)
Manufacturer: Ringovinda Systems
Model: Mk 1-3 Stalgasin crowd control bomb
Affiliation: Confederacy of Independent Systems
Modularity: Yes, can modify the payload to suit the needs of chemical or biological warfare if necessary
Production: Minor.
Material: Detonite, plastoids, tear gas, Bothan stun spores, powdered ionite
Classification: Crowd control bomb
Size: Starfighter-mounted
Length: 1m (light version) - 2.60m (medium version) - 3.80 m (heavy version)
Diameter: 155 mm (light version) - 310 mm (medium version) - 533 mm (heavy version)
Weight: 30kg (light version) - 300 kg (medium version) - 1,000 kg (heavy version)
Ammunition Type: Gas canister
Ammunition Capacity: 1
Effective Range: Starfighter-mounted proton bomb standard (light version) - 100 meters (medium version) - 250 meters (heavy version)
Rate of Fire: Single action
Special Features:
- Can stun everyone in its blast radius
- Can fry electronics and electrical equipment in its blast radius
Strengths:

- Able to stun large groups of people at once
- Able to fry electronics and electrical equipment over the blast radius

Weaknesses:

- Fast cook-off time due to the plastoid shells (i.e. must be stored away from flames and heat)
- Very little potential for material damage except close to the detonation point
- Medium and heavy versions must be externally mounted if used on most attack craft and are thus exposed
- Indiscriminate frying of electronics
- Dumb-fired

Description: This weapon was designed with two purposes in mind: crowd control and disabling enemy electronics in a nonlethal manner. Because gunpowder is a low explosive and is useless in creating big blast radiuses past a certain point, this unit is equipped with tritonal as its dispersal charge. Unlike most starfighter-mounted ordnance, the crowd control bomb has a plastoid casing to reduce shrapnel damage upon detonation. Once it detonates, it releases three items at once into the air: the Bothan stun spores would knock out (but, combined with the explosive charge, can prove to be deadly in confined spaces) organics without a rebreather system. The second of these is the tear gas, which is an irritant for organics with unprotected eyes and skin. The third one makes the Stalgasin bomb different from the original Tearstunner crowd control bomb due to the presence of fine ionite powder, which renders it able to disable electronics and electrical equipment within the blast radius.

Of course, blast radius depends on the version in use: the light version has a blast radius of 40 meters, the medium version has a blast radius of about 100 meters and the heavy version has a blast radius of 250 meters. If someone survives close to the detonation point, a person can be incapacitated for up to six hours, but at the edge of the blast radius, the person will be out of commission for about 10-20 minutes at most.

How's your day, [member="Jessica Med-Beq"]? I'll be judging your submission! :D

First off, I'd like to commend you for the excellent amount of detail in this submission.

But there are a few slight things that keep me from getting this approved:
  • Can you find a Star Wars equivalent of Tritonal? The reason I'm asking is because SW-wise, materials that exist in our reality might not exist in their own. If you fail to find similar powder, then I suggest you edit in "explosive powder" or submit your own version of it.

I assume you mean 'all' electronics? Ionite isn't biased to what it disables.

Other than those two things, this submission looks good.

Detonite is the closest canon SW explosive to the power of real-world tritonal, so I chose to go with detonite.

And now it's simply about frying electronics but doing it indiscriminately over a blast radius is a weakness of this weapon.

Awesome, [member="Jessica Med-Beq"]!

Passing this on to [member="Spencer Varanin"] for approval! Thanks! :D

The length of time or effects that something has on another writer is not up to you to decide.

Simply state a possible maximum length of time someone might be rendered unconscious for, and it needs to be very clearly noted that it is only possible that someone is effected for that long - it is always up to a writer regarding how something effects their character.

This does not match your description that states there are different ranges depending on the size of the payload. Your effective range needs to be the same as what you explain further in your description. Remember that the effective range does not just mean how far that the missile can be fired, it also means how large the explosion is.
