OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To codify an SSBB missile for a Planetary Defense network, with Long range as the primary focus.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
    • Manufacturer: SSBB
    • Affiliation: Closed Market; Zweihander Union
    • Model: M-2
    • Modularity: No
    • Production: Minor
    • Material: Duraplast, Durasteel, missile engine components, heat-seeking sensors, Radar equipment, Countermeasures

  • TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
    • Classification: Stage 1: Armor Piercing, Stage 2: High Explosive
    • Size: Very Large
    • Weight: Very Heavy
    • Explosive Type: Directional Baradium Charges, with Ball Bearings causing damage seen in Stage 2.
    • Delivery Method: Self-Propelled.
    • Effective Range: Extreme
    • Area Of Effect: Large
    • Stopping Power: High
  • SPECIAL FEATURES
  • On-board Computers allow a Fire-and-Forget Use; On contact with targeted ship, the AP spearhead usually blasts through upto 4400mm of the best armor out there, delivering the HE payload to the interior of the ship, where it explodes omni-directionally, taking down all equipments, corridors and personnel surrounding the site of penetration.
  • The tip of the missile makes use of Plasma cutting to try to slip through enemy shields.((Just to be clear, the shields themselves aren’t even slightly damaged or compromise, simply penetrated))

  • STRENGTHS
    • These missiles are extremely maneuverable, and don’t even need to be shot in the general direction of the targeted ship. Even if the launcher is facing the wrong way, The M-2 will easily turn themselves to head towards the target, appropriately adjusting their path and orbital trajectory-provided they don't run into something, of course.
    • Each missile is sufficiently armoured, and packs enough countermeasures to make entire ships turn Green with envy. As such, it is extremely difficult for enemies to intercept.
    • The M2 was designed with a planetary defense role in mind, and as such possesses tremendous range. Statistics suggest that it is capable of traversing the average System thrice, and is even capable of engaging/chasing down ships that are attempting to exit the system, provided that they remain at sub-light speeds.
  • WEAKNESSES
    • The missiles are expensive, almost prohibitively so; anyone who isn’t at least a minor faction or extremely rich has almost no chance of being able to obtain them in sufficiently usable numbers.
    • There is a downside to a weapon's every strength, in this case it is self evident that the lack of actual control over where the expelled charges would reach could also pose a threat to the user of it. After all, if it is used within too close of a range, the charges might actually hit the user (the bunker/launch site) or blow up an entire hostile ship when that wasn't the intention, etc. As always though, the result of a weapon is only as good as the one wielding or using it.
    • The M2 is restricted to a Ground-to-space role, and while it is indeed capable of engaging targets in the High atmosphere, anything akin to a ground-to-ground role is not a possibility for this missile
    • The M2 is extremely bulky, and as such cannot be utilised manually; this missile must be operated from dedicated launch-sites, and while the run-of-the mill large missile launcher can be used to utilise it, proper preparations must be made.
  • DESCRIPTION
    The “Angelic Wrath“ M2
is based on the usual planetary defence missile, but dialled up to 11. This missile will take down almost any ship, and is the best possible option for taking down high-value targets like Star Destroyers, BattleCruisers, Super Star Destroyers, etc. It can be fired from missile silos- and underwater bunkers. It is the space equivalent of fire-support- even as friendly fleets engage hostiles in orbit around a planet or somewhere in the system, M2 batteries can be deployed to snipe high-value ships, causing mayhem to an enemy fleet’s rear lines and decimating strategically important enemy assets.

Hello there, Tyrael Tyrael ! Thanks for taking the time to use the factory. I will be reviewing your sub alongside Ravenfire Ravenfire , but before I can slap an approval on this and pass it on up, I have a couple things I'd like to discuss

Tyrael said:
  • Effective Range: Extreme
  • Area Of Effect: Long Range
Just need to get a bit of clarification from you here. For "Area of Effect," you have "Long Range" listed. If you would be so kind as to use one of the listed rankings from the template, that would be amazing! Thanks.
Area Of Effect: (Effective explosive field size in relation to the weapon type. Remember that a carbine will have a longer range than a pistol, an assault rifle longer range than a carbine, and a sniper rifle longer than an assault rifle. Choose from Pinpoint, Point Blank, Personal, Average, Large, Battlefield, and Extreme. Battlefield and Extreme will require justification in strengths and weaknesses.)

On-board Computers allow a Fire-and-Forget Use; On contact with targeted ship, the AP spearhead cleanly blasts through up to 4400mm of the best armor out there, delivering the HE payload to the interior of the ship, where it explodes omni-directionally, taking down all equipments, corridors and personnel surrounding the site of penetration.
If you could do me a solid here and edit the text to not reflect absolute language, that would be great. While I'm aware you was to drive home the point that this is one big, bad weapon system, it' would be if you phrased this so that you're emphasizing the potential of the weapon and not its absolute effects. So my suggestion here is use "can blast through" or "has potential to"

Just as with the above, please refrain from using absolute terminology.

Please remember to tag myself and Ravenfire Ravenfire with any changes/edits made to this submission. Thanks.
