TECHNICAL INFORMATION

SPECIAL FEATURES

  • High Mobility
  • Sensor Scrambler
  • Explosive Core

Strengths |
  • [ Acrobatic Agility ] | The speed and agility of the Jester is terrifying to behold. The Jester is capable of running at enemies with frightening speeds, and equally frightening acrobatic skills to duck, dodge, and roll to avoid being shot before reaching their intended targets.
  • [ I Don't Need Ammo ] | While the Jester can wield weapons, its primary function is simply just to find an enemy, latch onto them and blow them up into a cloud of red mist and fleshy chunks. They simply don't need ammo to kill someone. They are even capable of functioning after severe loss of structural integrity. So long as they have a functioning sensor to find an enemy and a means of dragging itself, or crawling at an enemy, they will continue to move till they explode or are completely neutralized.
  • [ Sneaky Bombers ] | In addition to their sensor scramblers that make them a nightmare to try and spot from a distance, the Jester can bury themselves just beneath the surface of the ground like landmines. Once they detect an enemy above them, they'll simply break through the surface of the ground and latch onto a leg like a shackle.
Weaknesses |
  • [ Lightly Armored ] | As expected of suicide droids, the Jester is only lightly armored. A well-placed shot can blow off a limb. A hit to the explosive core will cause it to detonate as well with just a few shots.
  • [ Fried-Tech ] | An EMP or Ionic weapon is capable of not only frying the droid's circuits but neutralizing the explosive core entirely. As a result, this will render the Jester useless even after it has latched onto someone before it can detonate its core, amounting it to little more than literal dead weight.

DESCRIPTION

The Suicide Series Jester Class Suicide Droid was designed, not for particularly frequent usability, but to serve two primary purposes; one being the destruction of an individual or a group of individuals who are too close to the target, the other being the utter demoralization of enemy soldiers on the battlefield after seeing one of their own explode in a cloud of red mist and fleshy chunks. They possess a total of three sensors; One in the head, one in the chest, and one in the torso. The explosive core is housed in the torso, near the back, making them somewhat protected from being shot at, but extremely vulnerable from behind.

The Jester, as its series name implies, is a suicide bomber droid, though they are typically deployed much like mines on the battlefield, especially ones rich with foliage or terrain that makes them hard to spot. They are typically hidden in trees or just beneath the surface, either dropping down on the enemy or shackling their legs if they are walked over. They are disruptive as they typically are programmed to target those who are in command and cause chaos within squads. Once they latch onto their target, they will not let go until they are either safely neutralized or destroyed.

Jesters are particularly dangerous droids mostly in part due to their extremely agile nature. Some would compare their speeds and ability to dodge enemy fire when running at enemies to that of a Jedi or Sith. Much of this is in due part to their extreme, lightly armored nature, sacrificing durability for speed and agility. This however also makes them extremely fragile droids that can be stopped. This is one of the reasons why they are deployed in areas where terrain works to their advantage rather than large open battlefields with little cover. The less time the enemy has to react to their presence, the more effective they become and successful with their primary directive.

A single Jester droid possess an explosive core that is smaller and weaker in comparison to that of a standard thermal detonator, but enough to blast a single target if they latch onto them; if the enemy is foolish and clustered close to the primary target, they too may suffer from moderate to severe injuries just from proximity. They are a cheap and relatively inexpensive unit and can be deployed en masse if needed, though are highly volatile if their core is breached.
