It did not take them long to enter into the Imperial Center for Military Operations, with his two Kailkruts-guns trailing behind him. He had ensured that they received comprehensive instructions to follow, specifically to map the various facilities for concealed vulnerabilities and potential backdoor access points.

While loyalty to the Imperial Confederation was expected, an unwavering allegiance to a single faction was counterintuitive of the goals of the Tarkin Initiative. Warsaw mentally tuned out the Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen as they traversed the dark corridors of the nearly completed structure.

Observing the bureaucratic offices, training facilities, armories, and barracks, they collectively formed a thorough design intended to enable the Imperial Military to swiftly respond to evolving situations, such as the Planeshift and the rise of competing powers like the Black Sun and the Mandalorian Empire in the vicinity.

"Certainly a well thought out center for military control, Supreme Commander Sularen. Though are you sure it is wise to gather so much military infrastructure on one planet within the Imperial Confederation, surely you are aware of the history of the New Imperial Order where rebellions were common and the first thing a rebel would think of is to sabotage our military awareness."

He paused, allowing the weight of his statement to resonate in the atmosphere for a brief moment, fully aware that a Rebellion would inevitably arise against the Imperial Confederation, as it always had, even during the era of the Iron Emperor. This structure, while formidable, could be easily compromised and rendered nonfunctional by even a small contingent of Jedi or special forces.

As soon as the Imperial Gunship made landfall and the side doors opened, the Strike Team quickly disembarked, their weapons out and on full alert for any potential hostiles with Torson being the last one to exit the Gunship. Upon exiting the Gunship, Torson moved forth to seek out Dothon and Talstan and proceeded to address both of them. "Alright, Dothon, Talstan, here's the game plan. We'll split up into 3 squads and cover the bridge, cargo bay and data center. I will take the bridge, Dothon can cover the cargo bay and Talstan can take the data center." he explained.

"Make sure to take note of dormant battle droids and nexu nests that may be scattered throughout the frigate. We don't want to risk drawing too much attention that will potentially compromise our operation. If we're going to succeed we will need to move swiftly and smoothly without any delay" Torson added. "That being said, good luck and Long live the Empire." Torson said as he disengaged the safety mechanism of his Assault Blaster and moved forth to leave the hangar with his group of 10 SpecNav Commandos as they began to venture down the worn down hallways of the frigate on their journey towards the Frigate's bridge.

As Sularen and Warsaw walked through the military complex, Warsaw chimed in to offer his thoughts, complimenting Sularen on how well thought the complex was for the Imperial Confederation's military command but then inquiring about the potential risks that would come with investing a lot of military infrastructure on a singular planet which could easily be targeted by rebel action. It was a valid concern as the Imperial Confederation would inevitably have to deal with rebel movements that would seek to topple it. However there was an easy explanation to alleviate such concerns, which Sularen intended to deliver to the Imperial theorist.

"Simply put. Cholganna has no native population outside the small community established from the survivors of that Seperatist warship that crash-landed here centuries ago." Sularen explained. "Rebellions thrive when there is a native population present as it's easy to destabilize our rule through the people. Without a native population, any rebel movement will have to travel here off-world and that already gives an advantage."

"Furthermore, i intend for this military complex to serve as the nucleus of a larger network that will soon be comprised of shipyards, vast industries and at least a dozen garrison bases scattered across the planet. Along with a strong military presence, strict surveillance measures and extremely tight restrictions on travel from and to this world, it will be extremely difficult for any rebel to make landfall and effectively target our operation here. The same goes for any invading army that would seek to decapitate our military command in one fell swoop." Sularen added before pausing for a few seconds.

"In time, Cholganna will become a true impregnable Imperial fortress world that might potentially outlast the Confederation itself." the Supreme Commander proclaimed. It was then that the Imperial duo arrived at the Central Command Terminal, where Imperial officers could oversee various military operations that would be undertaken by the various branches of the Imperial Confederation such as the Army, Navy, Special Forces, Security Service and Inquisitorous. From here, Sularen would lead Doctor Warsaw into a large empty room with no features other then the black walls and floor. "Now, about that SimonE Coordination Network."

A swarm of fighters left the hangers of Admiral Squeshas ships like hornets out of a distrubed nest. What little fighter cover the pirates was decimated by the precision, skill and superior numbers of the imperial fighters. The fighters turned their attention to the capital ships. In response the pirstes tried to defend themselves but without fighters their firepower was largely ineffective. It did however offer the star destroyers a reprieve from the enemys guns.

"Obliterate them! But leave the command ship crippled. I want them taken alive as proof of our superiority."

The star destroyers opened fire, their massive guns doing what they were designed for. The enemy fleet was hemmed in on all sides, and had nowhere to escape. The corvettes were destroyed instantly, erupting into plumes of fire before breaking apart. The frigates were next. Squeasha had positioned her ship somewhat underneath the enemy, allowing her to target the vulnerable undersides. There was no time for evacuation as turbolasers tore through their hulls, and the broken husks that were left soon drifted slowly towards the planet. Squesha knew that the wreckage would fall on the surface but had decided it was not worth breaking it apart further in case it lands on imperial troops. Not her fault if they didnt look up.

The mon clamari cruiser was a tougher nut to crack. Squesha knew these ships well, after all they were built in her homeworld. It was still putting out considerable damage, and she winced as the star destroyer to he left took a heavy blow that disabled one of its primary ion cannon turrets.

"Get to the rear of that cruiser! I will keep its attention. Once you are in its rear arc it has few gun emplacements that can target you. You should make short work of its engines."

She shut off the fleet wide comms.

"We are going to get their shields down. All guns target their deflector shield projectors!"

Thanks to her insight the crew already had the schematics of that ship in their targetting databanks, the MC 95 class heavy cruiser. The deflector shield projectors were on the port and starboard blisters, and had a large heat build up as the shields took their beating. Fighter control sent out a command:

"Bombers of Flight wing Alpha and Beta, target the Port and starboard deflector shield projectors respectively. Two interceptor squadrons are to accompany each."

From the flanking star destroyers the bombers flew out, each accompanied by their interceptor escort that had rejoined them. Heavy proton bombs and torpedos were launched, leading to catastrophic failure of the enemy shields. They were helpless.

"Fire at will! Bombers take out their guns! And prepare boarding parties."

Without shields it was no contest. Great explosions tore through the engines, and the enemy guns fell silent as they were taken out one by one. It was over in minutes. The enemy cruiser listed and smoked, completely disabled. The fighters returned to their hangers, their losses minimal. Inside the hanger of The Enforcer several shuttles launched, each with a full compliment of troopers. They had their orders: Take as many prisoners as possible but eliminate anyone who still dared to fight back.

Although she had passed her calibration trials, scoring well above the projections in the process, Dollshade knew that her efficacy as an Asset of the Imperial Secret Service had yet to be verified. This was her chance to do just that. A live combat trial on Cholganna, embedded within the military operation to secure the Retreat. There was no truer test than an active conflict zone.

Attached to the Stormclad Company, Dollshade moved silently ahead of their advance. Although the Hapan doubted that the stormtroopers truly needed her in order to achieve their objectives, she was determined to make their work easier. Fewer casualties. Better intelligence. Greater lethality.

“Reporting foot-mobiles moving into ambush positions,” she piped up over comms. “Watch alleys and buildings for contact. There’s a separate group escorting four hoverturrets into enfilade positions along the main concourse, over.”

All the while, the stormtroopers’ HUDs lit up with marking runes, highlighting the hoverturrets’ rough positions as reported by the ISS Asset. However, by the time they had processed the new information, one of the hoverturrets had blinked out, registering as neutralized.

The Asset was already working.

A chakram split the air, shearing through the turret’s barrel. The gunner screamed, before hurling himself off of the platform. However, the action didn’t save him from the burst of hypersonic slugs that speared through his chest, painting the ground in a spray of viscera and crimson mist as his ruined corpse crumpled over.

One down. Three to go.

Tova was pushing forward into the Retreat. Her blaster rapidly taking down the feeble resistance. "Boomer" and "Whisper" were beside her doing the same. Under the cover of her helmet a smile revealed how much Tova was enjoying herself, but it was rightfully hidden away from the world around her. She did after all put duty ahead of enjoyment. Just so happened duty was blowing things up and she enjoyed that immensely.

"Reporting foot-mobiles moving into ambush positions," she piped up over comms. "Watch alleys and buildings for contact. There's a separate group escorting four hoverturrets into enfilade positions along the main concourse, over."

The unfamiliar voice over the comms announced a bigger challenge than the riff-raft that her squad was currently dealing with. "Whisper, Boomer. Let's go take out those hoverturrets before the tanks move in and steal all the excitement," Tova called out to her squad mates. She didn't wait for orders. She just moved in, assuming that the voice on the comms was just some spotter calling out targets.

"Firecracker. I know you can't resist a challenge, but make sure you aren't forgetting our flank," Sgt Vorrant called out to keep Tova focused.

"Aye Sarge. We'll do our job right," Tova replied as she moved forward. She gave hand signals for Boomer and Whisper, the squad's comm specialist, to clear any alleyways as she pushed on towards the reported enemy big guns.

As Tova turned onto the main concourse she saw the ISS asset's weapon flash through the air, and the carnage that it caused at the end of its flight. "WOAH! Did you see that? Where did that come from?" Tova exclaimed, momentarily losing focus.

"Firecracker has the East turret!" Tova called over the general comm channel and started her assault on the target she called out.

Galaxy's Foremost Theorist

"An Imperial fortress world..." Warsaw contemplated briefly as Marlon Sularen Marlon Sularen endeavored to alleviate any concerns in his mind about the accumulation of numerous imperial assets on a singular world. His rationale was mostly valid, particularly regarding Cholganna's lack of an indigenous population that could oppose the Imperial presence, as well as the certainty that this site would be extensively fortified with buildings and military installations.

It is possible that the Supreme Commander either did not consider or preferred not to acknowledge that such a significant concentration of forces would limit the options for external powers such as the Alliance.

Should they manage to assemble a sufficiently large invasion fleet capable of breaching the planet's defenses, they could easily annihilate the Imperial Military in a single, decisive strike.

"An admirable ambition, Supreme Commander. Though surely we should prepare other military sites across the Confederation to avoid a complete concentration of military infrastructure in a single location as one coordinated siege could snip the beating heart of our burgeoning state, which is not within the aims of the Hidden Hand as we agreed upon." He paused, his mind already pondering over the potential downfall of the Confederation by a coordinated strike from within or the Galactic Alliance targeting this proposed fortress world to eliminate a threat before it even became one.

As Sularen led him into the large, empty room with its stark black walls, Warsaw's adjusted his collar for a moment before speaking plainly.

"As you know the
SimonE Battle Coordination Network is top of the line technology which can replace the need for officers present on the battlefield in lue of recent events where battles have been decided by starship boarder's like those over Coruscant and Jedi Strike teams. This simple network will enable us...or more specifically you, Supreme Commander the chance to conduct your fleet actions away from the battlefield on a planet a hundred parsecs away." He explained with a few hand gestures wanting to get the message across that the Imperials always suffered defeat when their commanders were captured.

“Firecracker, I have your flanks covered. The East turret is ahead, just behind the speeder garage near the street junction!” Dollshade’s voice came through the comms like smoke through a chapel, soft and saccharine.

Right on cue, a chakram tore through the air in a haze of breakneck motion, decapitating a blaster-armed insurgent as he leveled his rifle towards the short-statured heavy ordnance trooper. Blood erupted from the stump of his neck in a fountain, the body remaining upright for a few seconds while its head went flying into the street. All the while, the chakram kissed the facade of a nearby building and spun back into the fray, parting another man’s head from his neck with surgical indifference.

For a moment, the chakram’s wielder flickered into view along the nearby side road as she caught the weapon on its return trajectory, returning to her palm as if summoned by prayer. Clad in a dark, form-fitting skinsuit that left little of her aggressively feminine figure to the imagination, she faded back into the shadows just as quickly, albeit after launching a pair of chakrams towards a squad of insurgent infantry fifty meters distant.

What came next more resembled butchery, than battle.

The discs ripped through the insurgents in the manner of a scythe shearing through grass. A third decapitated head was knocked clear of its shoulders, skull cracking against stone as it landed in the street. A leg, severed clean above the knee, toppled one way while its owner collapsed the other, his screams silenced by a burst of hypervelocity slugs that reduced his chest to a steaming cavity. Another chakram spun, slicing open a man’s mouth before ripping through cheekbone and skull. His body dropped, twitching, blood gurgling out of what had once been a jaw.

Three more dead, in just as many seconds.

Dollshade ripped through the last three, her chakrams describing a bloody whirlwind as they rebounded and bounced off of the nearby facades. One chakram opened an insurgent’s throat like a zipper, blood spilling from the wound in thick rivulets as the man clutched his wound in a futile effort at containing his life’s essence. The other struck an insurgent’s spine, shattering vertebrae before exiting clean through his collar and burying itself into the last fighter’s heart, who gave a scream that was short, sharp, and wet.

The insurgents’ bodies crumpled over, and a melodic voice crackled over the stormtrooper’s comms.

“The way to the East turret is clear. Go!”

OBJECTIVE: Secure the Retreat
LOCATION: Aboard the Bastion

The fighting had started.

The holotable on the Bastion kept track of the movements of tagged Imperial forces as they crisscrossed the battlefield, taking up firing positions, shooting down enemies, destroying weapons emplacements and turrets. Selrik was not a typical ground commander as it were, feeling far more at home aboard his ship in space, but he was well-enough versed in command to understand how to lead a proper campaign. This one was relatively easy, as things went. Cholganna didn't have a large populace to begin with, and what it did have was not armed in a fashion capable of fighting back against Imperial firepower.

What he also knew was that even when they took the Retreat, they would end up dealing with holdouts hiding within the vast jungles for some time. They'd need to send in ISS agents to hunt them down and capture them once their FOB was established and a garrison was under construction.

"In sight of the Retreat now," the Lieutenant said.

Selrik looked away from the holo display and made his way to the transparisteel viewport. The Bastion had shields, so there was little worry for his own safety as he stood, looking out at the place the few people who lived on Cholganna called home. They were fighting. They were losing. It was a waste. At least his forces were being smart about it and not blowing everything up in their path. Precision was the key. Plus he'd issued orders only to attack those with weapons. Anyone else would be rounded up and interrogated, but they wouldn't be harmed. This was a capture mission, not a slaughter. If he wanted a slaughter he'd go hunting.

"Continue forward. Have the forward walkers use their big guns on any large positions that might pose a problem to the ground units, but otherwise refrain from firing. It seems our ground forces have this well in hand."

Meanwhile, the operative of Uncordis that was assigned to watch Sieliel Dimegor was disguised as a lowly scout trooper, operating on the edges of those who marched forward, seemingly keeping an eye out for lethal fauna that might decide an Imperial officer was a tasty, less than armored snack. He was accustomed to such assignments and didn't bat an eye at being asked to risk himself for the sake of bettering the Empire. What the Executor Primaris wanted he got. So far it had been less than eventful, anyway.

What few beasts he had seen had left them be after having been fired upon. He wasn't inclined to kill them if he didn't have to, so he left it largely at warning shots. They could be useful assets in the future, so unless they needed to die, why waste them? The woman didn't seem inclined to cause any trouble, focused on her mission. Though the people around her seemed to regard her with a level of disdain that was fitting given her attachments, even if they didn't know them. He assumed their dislike for her was focused more on her demotion, something almost equal to political death amongst the Empire. If they knew the truth they'd probably kill her regardless of the decisions of the ruling council.

<Ship ahead. Friendlies already on site.>

The merciful call came in across their comms frequencies from one of the forward scout troopers. Even though there were already friendlies on site, it didn't make this any less worthwhile. He'd gotten to watch her, see her focus, gauge her character. What she thought of the assignment that was given to her didn't seem to be expressed in a visual manner. Cruel as it might seem, it wasn't without purpose. He understood it. It wasn't that long ago he'd done similar tasks before he'd been chosen. Her time was coming. Soon.

Tova expected Boomer and Whisper to have her six, but there was a bit of excited expectation when she heard the ISS asset stated she was on the job as well. The exact location of her target was revealed as well.

"Boomer, find another target. Whisper, you're his cover. My back is taken care of," for some it would be a lot of faith in a short time, but Tova would charge in alone if Sarge let her. She didn't want her squad mates to interfere with Tova seeing just what this operative was capable of.

Though Tova's trigger finger was active and several enemies fell at her hand, her attention was mostly on attaining her target as she advanced. That is until one of the spinning disc came across her view and dropped a hostile, his body and head falling separately. Tova's eyes followed the weapon through the battlefield, where for a moment she saw the asset who utilized it so masterfully. All that Tova really made out was a tremendous physique, female, definitely female, with a trailing bit of platinum hair in its wake.

The bloodbath unleashed after the sight was just as impressive. Tova's feet stopped moving for a moment. Her trigger finger lay idle, something that never happened in battle, and that was quickly corrected as she started towards the target once again.

The voice that told Tova to focus on the target was almost too sweet to match the action that had taken place. Tova was too professional to let herself be distracted twice however. Plus if she did she would miss out on the boom. "Target in my sights. Get ready for a glorious explosion," she snickered over he comms. Then she launched two grenades at the target, blaster shifting to take out other targets while she waited for her reward. A loud, "Yahoo!!!" called out almost in sync with the turret being turned into a ball of fire and rubble.

zYINo4H.png

It was just mopping up at this point. Admiral Squesha watched her tactical holomap, keeping track of her elite boarding teams. With expert precision the cruisers hull was breached and troopers flooded in. What little pirates remained were easily taken care of, their sloppy skills no match for Imperial training. They made their way to the bridge where after a pitched battle the pirate captain surrendered.

"Send him to the brig! We will take him back as a present for The Empress. Proof of our inevitable victory over the chaos of the galaxy."

The campaign in general was mostly finished. Back on the surface very little resistance remained and now thanks to her the space around the system was secure. She smiled to herself.

"Rendezvous the fleet. I have been summoned by the Supreme Commander and afterwards I am needed on New Alderaan. Patrol the nearby hyperlanes until further orders."

Thus Admiral Squesha left in a shuttle to fulfil her duties, flanked by two TIEs.

"Cargo bay it is," Saltare replied to Torson.

"Form up, we're moving aft," Saltare said to his squad. They peeled away from the other troops and began their journey towards the middle-rear portion of the ship, blasters at the ready. The soft footfalls of the soldiers were only broken when they started their climb into the ship's bowels through its torn outer armor plating.

The ship's interior was dark and quiet. There were no lights or movement, and only the occasional groan of metal still settling even after all this time.

"A little eerie, eh?" Logan whispered.

Saltare started to reply before the point soldier held up a raised fist, halting the squad's movement.

"Movement, left to right at the end of this T-hallway."

"Eyes open. Push up," Saltare said.

The group continued, flowing through the ship, bypassing open doors with only quick scans as they neared the end of this hallway that split and fed into a perpendicular hall. The squad broke into two groups, each pressed against a side of the hall. The left point man cleared the right hallway as best as possible while the left did the same.

"Nothing, clear as far as I can tell," came the statement from the troops up front.

"Push right, left fill in behind," Saltare commanded.

A series of clicks were all the confirmation he needed. He squeezed the soft undersuit of the trooper in front of him to let him know he was ready, and the signal cascaded forward until the point man moved around the corner, blasting up and clearing the hallway as the rest of the squad filled in behind.

They continued walking in the halls, moving ever closer to the cargo bay. Darkness encroached on them, but their multi-spectrum HUDs kept the shadows at bay.

"Movement, end of the hall, right to left."

"Movement behind."

"Radar signatures, all sides."

"Pick a room and fill in," Saltare snapped, "Get us out of this kriffing hallway."

The squad flowed through a doorway into a large storage depot, weapons up and clearing the areas they could.

"Signatures detected again," another trooper said, holding out a small scanning device.

"Where?" Saltare demanded.

"All ar-" his voice was cut short as blaster bolts erupted from all around them.

OBJECTIVE I.

They found it and with it's discovery came the temporary end of brooding thoughts that were taken over by the purpose and clarity of the mission perimeters. The Sa Nalaor was (according to NISB records taken by the Imperial Secret Service following the formation of the confederation) an ancient vessel of Munificent design. A standard vessel of this design stood at 825 metres in length, 426 metres in width and 243 metres in height or depth. According to the dossiers written about the vessel it was commonly referred to as a 'Banking clan frigate' implying that it was held ties to the InterGalactic Banking Clan which still persisted in the modern day.

It was said that the ship was pursued by Imperial warships following the declaration of a NEW ORDER by the founder of the first GALACTIC EMPIRE almost a millennia ago. Records from that time period were 'milky' to say the least with much of the written, recorded history lost to the advent of the Four-Hundred Year Darkness with only most resolute archives surviving that time period. Still the rumours regarding the little known lost vessel called Sa Nalaor spoke of a treasure that was said to be contained on board the ship before it's disappearance and subsequent crash somewhere in the Cholganna system.

Much of the interior and exterior of the ship had been lost due to a mixture of time and the subsequent crash which was believed to have occurred. A perimeter was quickly established around the region of jungle upon it's discovery and a rest period of a mere twelve hours was allocated to all personnel in the region following a near half-a-week trek through harsh terrain and alien fauna. Sieliel quietly laid in the bunk bed in one of the tents that had been erected as she tried to sleep. During the day, as she participated in the scanning and subsequent evaluation of the crash site, she had been distracted by thoughts of conspiracy and the deceit which had cost her so much. But now here, even among the strange ambient noises of the jungle-- which were too loud to get any real rest-- she could not distract herself.

There had once been a house named DIMEGOR and it had been the most powerful, affluent family in the entirety of the TION CLUSTER second only in nature to the more prominent SANTHE of Lianna. Alicia Drey Alicia Drey had made promises designed to elevate the last daughter of the cursed Tionese nobility only to see nothing materialize after two years of work. They had been dead for over a year now. If Sieliel were honest with herself then she could come to terms with the fact that she had been lied too but even out here on Cholganna it still didn't feel right.

THE DIRECTOR had a way of talking to you like nobody else. She didn't only just understand what you were thinking before you thought it or know what to say but at the heart of it all she possessed the ability to dig deep into who and what you were and what Sieliel had been was an exile with no prospects or future before her. Of course, now that all the facts had been established, Sieliel understood how and why DREY had been so effective in her duplicity and deceit. They had been a Jedi and so in spite of the fact that she did not want to admit it aloud Sieliel could only come to the terms of her own actions with the fact that she had been a victim of some arcane power only they could use.

When Selrik Lorcas Selrik Lorcas and Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss presented her with the oddities of her own testament in court martial, combined with the actions she took and the subsequent beliefs she had it could only mean that she was the victim of some Jedi or Sith trick. Did that mean Velran Kilran Velran Kilran had also been a victim of such powers? Or had the late Emperor of All Imperial Kind been in on it all the entire time as she was led to believe?

The thoughts disturbed her and the longer she contemplated on it the longer sleep eluded her...

OBJECTIVE 3.

The screech of a TIE/ss Supremacy only added to the cacophony of noise as Stormtroopers littered the area of the smugglers cavern located somewhere in the northern hemisphere of Cholganna. In low orbit the Night Edict co-ordinated the assault on the Krykna with ground forces and were liaising with other Imperial forces to arrange a compliment of transports to ship the criminal element arrested and subsequently detained in the aftermath of the assault. They were set to be transported off-world back to New Aldera for questioning regarding the whereabouts of the mysterious LAETOR and the surviving members of the Fifth Wing in the newly formed Imperial Corrections Directorate.

May Ashla preserve them.

As the Supremacy touched down on the assigned LZ, Velcarin disengaged the vessels engines and unstrapped herself from the seat. In concert with the ships subliminal systems hydraulic vents hissssed as the Inquisitor strode down the landing ramp in full gear and helmet to strike an imposing figure among the throng of bucketheads and the persistent yelling or shouting from the assortment of smugglers, spice runners or other criminal types who were now in Imperial custody-- each an unwitting victim of the conspiracy founded by Her Her and although she didn't know it Velcarin too shared something in common with the likes of them.

After all the Trigonus Report was responsible for the attack on Nespis VIII during the fall of THE EMPIRE OF THE LOST.

As Velcarin marched through the canopy of jungle fauna and a rough mud stained road towards the smugglers cavern it was as if her very presence had created a quiet if not albeit tense ambience which had settled in the moment of her visage was seen by all those taken by her forces. Rain softly petered against her armour and the small hem of her cape fluttered in the damp, humid air as she walked by. Stormtroopers quietly gazed upon the Inquisitor and through the force Velcarin felt a mixture of emotions-- reverence, admiration, anxiety, fear.

They were in stark contrast to the sheer terror emanating from their captives.

As she entered the cavern Velcarin discovered a place filled with Imperial tech. It confirmed the rumours circulating from the leftovers of the NISB and ISS corridors that the Krykna were made up of traitors who had turned bad. Among the myths and legends of the organisation was a story that it's mysterious leader had once been a member of the Voland Administration who were reportedly assassinated at the turn of the ninth century by the Fifth Wing who had attempted to pin the blame of the attack on the rebels who would later form the Tingel Arm Coalition. Facts and truth had been obfuscated by lies and deceit so it was impossible to tell what was what.

With some hope and luck today would shed some necessary light on the ties between the mafia to the seditious conspiracy responsible for the end of THE EMPIRE OF THE LOST.

"Clear the room," Velcarin spoke aloud to the group of officers who had gathered in the cavern to admire this most peculiar blend of criminality and Imperial aesthetic. Quickly they followed orders and marched outside to leave her alone in this place. What was more odd than anything else was what the Inquisitor did next. Instead of exploring the cavern or inspecting the many pieces of technology that had been gathered here Velcarin lowered herself to the ground and began meditating on the Force itself...

The forward AT-ST walkers entered the Retreat through the breach created by the advance forces demolishing the barricades that had been placed in place by the hostile forces that decided to fight back. Whomever had put them up to this, or whomever had infiltrated the world in the time since it had been in Imperial hands, had done a fairly decent job of trying to keep it secure. They just had no chance at doing so. They were outgunned and outclassed in every way.

The walkers opened fire on some secured positions that Stormclad had yet to get to, blasting them apart with efficiency. There was little left of the fortified locations when they were done with them. Little left of those that had been in them that could be recognized. Few prisoners would be taken, given the desire to fight being displayed. The Confederation would much rather kill those who opposed them than fill prisons facilities with them anyway. Those people were a drain on the system with little benefit unless they could be utilized in a work-based prison system.

He didn't see that being on the menu.

They entered the Retreat with the Bastion, rolling between buildings with little worry. The presence of the large mobile command center was enough to deter a lot of small arms fire in and of itself. It was huge, carried a bunch of troops, had armor and shields, and wasn't something to be trifled with. Add in the presence of the modern walkers and it was quite easy to say that the settlement would shortly be under their control. There wasn't enough firepower their to really resist.

"Start the troops going door to door," he ordered. "Let's round everyone up and get any dissidents found out right away. The rest, after questioning, can stay in their homes as Imperial citizens. The Retreat now belongs to the Confederation."

Sieliel's shadow was rarely far away from her. When he wasn't watching her directly he was on perimeter duty, keeping the local fauna at bay from the camp. Numerous units went into the ship to search it. They spent time looking for whatever might have been left behind when the ship was destroyed by the pursuing Galactic Empire vessels. Whatever that was didn't matter to him. It would benefit the Empire, to be sure, but he was an Uncordis operative first, Imperial second.

She seemed to have taken the worst of it compared to the rest. Perhaps confinement for so long had left her in a state of physical decline that left her weakened compared to her former form. He knew she used to be a part of the intelligence sector. People in that area had to be capable of taking care of themselves and handling touch tasks, but she seemed more suited to a desk job at this point.

Not a mark against her, it just meant she needed more reconditioning.

As he passed by her lodging, he could hear her restlesness. Was it guilt? Or was it thinking about everything that had happened to her? Turmoil wrought upon her by the hands of a Force User seeking to turn the Empire into something else. He didn't know what that something was and he didn't care. All he needed to know was they were a Force User. They needed culled. If that was, somehow, protecting her, then so be it. Ultimately, he was certain she was to be selected. He decided maybe he could do something for her.

"Having trouble sleeping in there?" he asked, just outside the tent. "Got something that will help."

If she were to come out, he'd blast her with a stun shot from his sidearm. Not exactly poetic, or pleasant, but she'd be out. He'd put her back in her bed and then go back to his guard duties. If she didn't come out, well, who knew.
