Private Sommer's End (Finale)

Sommer—no, the thing inside her—lunged again.

But Alyssa was faster.

Grabbing a disorientation charge from the wall rack, she slammed the button and tossed it near Sommer's feet. A pulse of white light and low-frequency sound blasted outward, enough to scramble the senses even of a Force-sensitive.

Alyssa rushed forward, tears streaming. She knelt beside Sommer, brushing dark strands from her face.

"Rest," Alyssa whispered through a trembling breath. "Rest, Som. You're not lost."
Closing her eyes, Alyssa pressed her forehead gently to Sommer's. She let the Force flow—not to fight, but to soothe. To touch the real Sommer, still buried beneath the venomous whispers of Azis.

A glow formed between them — soft, warm. Not blinding. But alive.

She entered briefly into Sommer's mindscape — not deep, not fully — but enough to find her slumped in a chair in a dark, warped lounge, bathed in red light.

Alyssa's voice, even in the dream, remained steady.

"Then sleep. I'll hold the storm for you."

Moments Later – Medbay Hall

Alyssa dragged herself to her feet, her body drained but her purpose clear. She darted through the corridor and nearly collided with Kael, who looked like he'd seen a ghost.

"Sommer's down. I got through to her — barely. But Azis… he's already rooted inside."

They then rushed and entered the medbay where Arq still lay limp. Alyssa knelt beside him.

"Come on, you old mystic..."
She closed her eyes, focusing again — this time more precisely.

Channeling the Force into her fingertips, Alyssa brought her hand just above his face. She began to move them in a slow circular motion, a Pamarthen focusing technique her mother used when she was young.

Then she waved two fingers gently over Arq's nose.

"Wake up, you weird, wonderful bastard."

Location: Aboard the Dusk Nocturne, En Route to Bakura

The Dusk Nocturne was never a quiet ship, not truly — always alive with distant engine hums, the subtle churn of coolant vents, and that soft rumble of hyperspace glide.

But now...
it had fallen into an unnatural silence.

Alyssa sat beside Sommer's cot in the medbay, her hand gripping Sommer's wrist as a fever took hold of the woman she loved. Her skin was slick with sweat, lips parted slightly, and her body twitched occasionally as if dreaming through barbed wire.

She then dipped a cloth in cool water and pressed it gently to Sommer's forehead.

"You're gonna be okay," she whispered, her voice trying not to crack. "You're stronger than this."

The medbay door opened fast. Kael stepped in, jaw tight, blaster already holstered but his body tense.

"We've got a problem," he said.

"The ship's AI is compromised. Arq's trying to isolate the core, but it's spreading—Azis is speaking through the damn systems now. We've had three doors seal shut, lights flickering, and nav tried rerouting us back to Nar Shaddaa."
