OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Domhanda
  • Affiliation: Darlyn Excron
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: White Crystalized Stone
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Light Side Tether
  • Calming Presence
  • Force Conduit
  • Blade Enhancement
  • Bound By Fate
STRENGTHS
  • Light Side Tether: As if it existed to tether its other half to the world it was born of, Solas buan tethers one to the Light of the Force, however much that might be within them. If they are able of producing lightside powers, those powers are both easier and more potent, in relation to one's devotion to the light.
  • Force Conduit: The crystal allows one to more easily fill themselves with the Force more easily, allowing it to flow and produce such effects as Force valor, Speed, Body, or other such enhancements more naturally.
  • Bright Blade: Clinging to the light, the blade produced by the crystal is unnaturally bright, and on contact with other blades produces bright flashes of light, like a camera flash.
  • Calm Composure: The crystal produces a slight calming effect on whoever holds it, making it easier to focus. This effect is only so effective, it will not calm down someone unwilling to remain calm or negate stressful situations.
  • Bound Together: This crystal and its counterpart are bound together distinctly in the Force. When held this crystal 'calls' to the other, and were it to fall safely it would be drawn to the other while in the air.
WEAKNESSES
  • Until Death Do We Part: This crystal's very existence is tied to another's. If either crystal were to be damaged or destroyed, the other immediately would suffer the same fate. One cannot exist without the other. This is particularly bad as the other, dark crystal can be destroyed by sufficient extended Force Light exposure, which will still destroy this crystal.
  • The Dark Rebuked: Though not unable to be touched, held, or otherwise be within the presence or close proximity of individuals aligned nigh exclusively with the Dark, the crystal will diminish in all Force-related capabilities in their hands. In the hands of a Dark Lord of the Sith, for instance, the crystal would be little more than a mere pretty rock.
  • Force Beacon: The crystal, as it acts as a 'tether' for its partner, is unable to hide its presence in the Force. Much as the light it produces, it is bright and hard to miss unless you were trying to.
DESCRIPTION
Solas buan was grown on Domhanda as others of its ilk, and like many others was gifted to the exalted priesthood that effectively ran the planet. Its owner was a particularly high ranking official, and like its fated partner, was brought to the great ritual devised to protect the planet. In those violent, desperate times, the two crystals were subjected to the trauma of that fateful day, the Cataclysm, and bore witness to the scar of the Dark that was inflicted on the world. Despite the odds, both crystals survived, the partner from its proximity to the ritual center, and Solas buan for its owners desperate attempt to shield it, one vain hope to keep it perfect.

Though its owner died that day, the owner's sacrifice for the crystal produced a pure, selfless act, as though the owner had died to protect a child. This light staved off death, and left it ironically unscathed by the ravages of the Cataclysm. Unscathed, save for being now bound to the other surviving crystal, the embodiment of that dark night. A force bond of sorts between the two, strengthened by that horrid day, fueled by their mutual survival despite the odds. Solas buan was far and seperate from its partner, and in the Force began to call towards the other, unable to move, unable to do anything. Waiting only for someone to pick up its now white, crystalline form.
