OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Domhanda
  • Affiliation: Darlyn Excron
  • Model: N/A
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Purple Crystalized Stone
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Dark Side Conduit
  • Blade Enhancement
  • Bound By Fate
STRENGTHS
  • Dark Side Conduit: As a result of its close proximity to intense darkside rituals, the crystal absorbed a substantial ammount of dark energies causing it to align heavily with Darkness. As a result, the use of the Dark side is made particularly easy in proportion to the wielder's own darkside inclinations. The more aligned with the dark they are, the easier this crystal makes using the dark side.
  • Dark Side Amp: The crystal also enhances the potency of the Dark Side, particularly violent uses of fire or lightning. Similarly to the conduit feature, this is in direct proportion to the wielder itself, the darker they are the greater an amplifier the crystal acts as.
  • Violent Blade: The crystal's presence at the destruction of mass quantities of life means that in any lightsaber it were to be put into would be made much more aggressive. Blades with this crystal hum unnaturally loud, almost angrily, and produce a blade with more cutting power than average. Enough to be noticeable but not enough to easily cut through resistant materials.
  • Bound Together: This crystal and its counterpart are bound together distinctly in the Force. When held this crystal 'calls' to the other, and were it to fall safely it would be drawn to the other while in the air.
WEAKNESSES
  • Until Death Do We Part: This crystal's very existence is tied to another's. If either crystal were to be damaged or destroyed, the other immediately would suffer the same fate. One cannot exist without the other.
  • The Light Denied: Though not unable to be touched, held, or otherwise be within the presence or close proximity of individuals aligned heavily with the Light, the crystal will diminish in all Force-related capabilities in their hands. In the hands of a near incorruptible light, for instance, the crystal would be little more than a mere pretty rock.
  • Force Light: Being filled with the Darkness, this crystal is susceptible to Force Light. Sustained duration under direct blast from such an ability will cause this crystal to not simply lose its powers, but shatter along with its counterpart.
DESCRIPTION
Normally, a Súile Beannaithe crystal is born entirely of the Light, from the sacred healing waters of the most holy place on Domhanda. Once, this was true of Oíche, being a crystal of any other like those held by Domhanda's priesthood. However, this was not to be so forever, as the priest to whom this crystal belonged was a member of a secret circle, who had joined in the hopes of preventing the death of their planet's supposed gods. He, and others, took part in a great ritual to prevent the deaths to come, a dark ritual. They succeeded at casting their ritual, but the dark energy instead brought about what the planet's people call the Cataclysm. Oíche rested at the center of this ritual, and as such was impacted by the darkness directly, suffusing it, drenching it really, in the darkness. Other crystals broke, shattered into dust.

But Oíche remained, still resting in the ground where it had fallen, the direct center of the ritual itself. As time went, the darkness settled within the stone, tinting it purple, and allowing the darkness that had come to Domhanda cycle through it far more easily. By the time the darkness had settled, and left little more than scars on the planet, Oíche remained. Silently waiting for one brave soul to come and pick it up, to allow darkness to flow through it once more, just as it had ten thousand years prior.

At some point, another surviving crystal had found itself bound to Oíche. The two grew closer in the Force as time passed, until their very existences became inseperable. The other crystal, wherever it had found itself, 'called' to its partner, for eons. Echos in the force that could be felt only were one to simply retrieve the unholy stone.

How much easier is it, lighting capabilities can go from smaller shocks to Palpatines lightning of an entire fleet over hundreds of kilometers.

The uh, the simple answer is that in my head it sort of just, if you're pretty darkside, bumps you up a level or two. But that's not, really an answer because that's not really defined?

Like it won't give you episode 9 'lemme just electrocute a fleet real quick brb got sith stuff to do'. That's not what it's meant to do. Best way I can put it is it's two parts really:

1. What you can do, it's just easier. Less draining, you can sustain lightning/fire/choke a disobedient captain across the room for longer before you really start draining your stamina to do your dark powers.

2. What you can do, you can do better. Not 'torturing with lightning' one day then 'torturing their fleet' the next, but maybe if they're really dark going from 'this is effective torture' to 'oh my force i can see the skeleton that's neat'.

So as the scale you gave goes, it won't make your smaller shocks turn into fleet killers, but it'll give your smaller shocks noticably more punch, maybe some kinetic force, and make it so you can do more shocks. You still have to be able to produce the original effect for it to amp up the power.

I hope that makes sense?
