defy the tyrannous stars

Sky Falls DownMilitary Objective/Trapped Follow Up
In the aftermath of the blunted Alliance peacekeeping operation into First Order territory, the retreating Defense Force first rendezvoused at Velga for several days of immediate triage and processing, before they were to be loaded back up onto their transports and shipped back towards the capital sector. Then the Vong came. As the battle for Velga raged on, the political landscape shifted and talks of a cease fire with the Imperials began to win out over prolonged conflict. Narrowly avoiding a decapitating blow that would have effectively crippled their military might and left them potentially open to full scale invasion, heroic efforts on the part of the New Jedi Order and Defense Force staved off annihilation, and the survivors' transports were rerouted towards the Core. Still within range to come to the aid of the Federation's defensive forces should the border once more come under fire, but removed enough from the equation to hopefully reduce tensions enough for the peace process to move forward.
Now, the survivors of Velga colony find themselves guests of the independent planetary government of Lujo. Currently in trade negotiations with several Alliance member worlds and already hosting those still recovering from the campaign to secure the Inner Core, much of the population is excited about the economic potential being recognized as a Federation planet would bring. But Lujo's prior history with the Galactic Alliance cannot be denied, the world was the site of a major battle on the Alliance's path towards One Sith held Coruscant. It had been total war between the two galactic powers, on a planetary scale and all throughout the system. The cities are still not fully rebuilt, and scattered everywhere are monuments to the titanic struggle. Scattered too, are the dissenters, some violently so. Whether they be former One Sith sympathizers, blame the GA just as much as the Sith, or simply aren't thrilled about billeting the vast camps of a foreign army, certain areas of concentrated resentment within the cities can be dangerous for Alliance personnel.
Despite these provincial concerns, for those gathered to recuperate and await new orders, now on the other side of Alliance space from those that wished them harm, there is a general feeling of security. At least as much as there can be in a galaxy that seems eternally poised on the brink of all consuming strife. But in the black, out on the far edge of the Lujo system, a great darkness yet stirs. Several scout ships, Yuuzhan Vong coralskippers, plunge from hyperspace and begin conducting discreet scans of nearby worlds. Some foes will go to the ends of the verse to avoid suffering defeat.
The Ruined Temple
Spooky Sith Dungeon Crawl
A gift from the Lords of the Fringe to the tyrannical One Sith empire, like much of the planet the Temple was the site of a major battle between Jedi and Sith forces during the Alliance's march towards the Core. Once a towering monument of imposing architecture meant as a testament to the might of the Sith, the structure lies in various states of ruin. Some sections, such as the Library, have been reduced entirely to rubble as if from the struggling of some monstrous beast long ago. But others may still hold secrets, potentially dangerous secrets of a now dead empire, and the New Jedi Order ExplorCorps is seeking volunteers to aid them in exploring passage ways where few would dare to tread.
The One Sith, the Vong...former allies, former collaborators. Was it more than petty revenge that brought the invaders all the way across Alliance space? Or is there some secret within the ruin that could have a part to play in the Jedi's salvation from their would be enslavers? Whether mere serendipity or the will of the Force, the Temple's role in the days to come is unclear, shrouded in the Darkside.
Xesh Base
Service Corps Base, Alliance 'Safe Zone'/Social Center
Once a lush swathe of jungle forest not far from the Sith Temple, the hulking remains of the crashed Immortal class star dreadnought saw an end to that on the last day the Alliance came here in force. Now, the Jedi Service Corps operates a secondary logistical command base to oversee and coordinate Alliance forces in the area. While much of the military leadership is based on Alliance Air Command currently circling several kilometers above the planet's capital city, most concerns regarding diplomacy and trade with the planet and its government have been relegated to Xesh Base.
Centralized in the overgrown remains of the once proud Sith flagship's command bridge, blown out transparisteel ports that would have served as the warship's window onto the battlefield, now connect to a mesh of ropes that descend down at an angle towards the jungle floor. Making ingenious use of the areas of the ship around the bridge still remotely habitable, the Immortal's losing battle with nature makes it an oddly fitting refuge for the New Jedi Order as they coordinate their operations on Lujo as diplomats, healers, and explorers.
