I have been quite successful with Iandre and enjoy writing her. However, I'd like to branch out and try to embrace the Dark Side. I want information on the current state of the Sith factions and which one would be the best for me to pick. I'm waiting to create a profile until I have this information, which I can then include in her background. Thank you,

The Sith Order and Dark Court are probably your two best bets rn.

The Sith Order deals in big plots and underlying eldritch horror themes, it's more of a cult than an empire, with a church and dominant religion that seeks to combat the force. it is currently locked behind the Blackwall, which keeps them isolated and under the emperor's control but also makes them the boogeymen of the galaxy, with information about them outside the blackwall almost nonexistent. They are currently the dominant sith faction, in fact im not aware of any competitors right now. I've participated in some neat stories among the SO, and some of it's worldbuilding is very interesting and quite expansive.


The Dark Court is a new minor faction created by a sith lord exiled from the SO and her co-conspirators. They take a very different approach in that they don't seek major faction status, but rather infiltration of galactic government at large. While not exactly the same, the rp is more akin to Rule of Two era sith scheming in the background without ever being discovered.


Both are viable options and my character is an active member of both factions simultaneously, though obviously keeps it a secret

Thank you for your answer, Kaila Irons ! I went ahead and joined the Sith Empire. I think I will enjoy writing with another major faction more than the minor one. However, I will certainly keep an eye on how that one develops.

Gerwald Lechner Quinn Varanin Darth Carnifex What would be a good starting point for her? I enjoy the process of writing out as much as possible, but I'm not opposed to starting at close to being a Knight (or the Sith equivalent). Iandre is more fighting-oriented, so I would like to explore a more Sorc/FU with Eira.

The Galactic Empire is probably the other bet outside SO, though more orientated to Darksiders rather than Sith - think the Dark Side Elite. Having said that, there's a bunch of Sith kicking around. Lots of good stories in the works now that we've taken Corsucant and are setting the core alight

Acolyte or Knight is a pre good starting position for a new Sith, depends on what kind of story you wanna write (i.e., an up and coming newbie or someone who's a lil more established in skill.) You can also start as a Lord if you want, there's no restrictions against it, but I think many can agree it tends to be better for the longevity of a character to start low or mid tier and then work up.

Beautiful! As I said, I prefer starting at a lower rank and not diving in headfirst into the shallow end as a Lord. If I had anything established anywhere, I could just "port" the character over. I don't, so I'll be starting low.

How would she have been discovered? What world would be the most likely for her to originate from?

How long have the Sith been in their current position IC?

There's a few ways that your character could be plucked up by the Sith. The most common methods are either having your character's Force-sensitivity discovered through an inspection of her midichlorians as a citizen of the Empire, captured during a raid on a neutral or hostile world and discovered that way, or given up as a tithe by systems who don't want to be raided by the Sith. Your character could also actively seek out the Sith to join them as well.

Any world is okay, but imo I think Outer Rim is going to be your best bet. Sith have a pretty strong influence in the Outer Rim.

ICly? I'd say about 30ish years on this iteration. There's been a succession of Sith Empires on Chaos since it started, beginning with the Eighth and now we're in the Eleventh. The current Emperor is Darth Empyrean , but my character used to be the Sith Emperor on two different occasions, but he's since moved beyond that ambition for more esoteric things.

That would be a pretty surefire method to be found, the Empire is always seeking new recruits for the meatgrinder academies. There's currently two major ones, one on Jutrand (the capital of the Sith Empire), and one on Korriban. Both are impacted by each of the prevailing philosophies in the Empire.

A slightly more unconventional way for her "discovery" to happen would be for her to be a IX-73b-type strand-cast who was explicitly made for the Sith. That said, based on your line of questioning and replies, I don't think that angle is what you're looking for, but the option is there if you want to write a Sith with less backstory and with a more "ready made" format!

For a citizen of the Sith Empire, I would add Dromund Kaas as a good option for a homeworld world as well! It's very fleshed out and gives a lot of content to chew on for a backstory! I'll note that each of the major cities on Dromund Kaas has a sub!

Nope. Rajakzânkut live normal lifespans for their species. I just assume that the technology/methods that go into them is a bit more refined than 800 years ago!
