GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Media Name: Sith-Imperial Edict: The Witch Accords
  • Format: Official documents are written on flimsiplast, copies are held digitally on holobooks.
  • Distribution: Inter-Planetary
  • Length: Short
  • Description: The relationship between the Witches of Dathomir and the Sith Empire had been strenuous of late after the Empire had been forced to eradicate several clans of Witches who had aided and abetted enemies of the Sith state. Before that, many more Witches had fled the occupation by the Mandalorian Clans. With a stroke of a pen, the Emperor of the Sith sought to rectify past errors. The Witch Accords is the first and perhaps grandest step into securing a new and more stable relationship between Sith and Witch. It guarantees the rights of the Witches of Dathomir to their ancestral home and grants them unmitigated authority over the majority of their homeworld with the exception of fifty square miles of land the Emperor request to stay in the hands of the Empire. This particular tract of land surrounds the Warlock Gate, a gateway of incredible power that acts as a conduit between the living world, the Netherworld of the Force, and the Spirit Plane. With it, the Emperor performs experiments on the nature of the Netherworld to see if they could be harnessed for the Sith.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Author: Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex | Pom Stych Tivé Pom Stych Tivé
  • Publisher: Office of Imperial Truth
  • Reception: Though many viewed the Witches of Dathomir with some measure of suspicion, many in the Empire praised the Accords for their potential to diffuse and deescalate what had been a very controversial crackdown on the Witches of Dathomir within the past few years. The Sith themselves were generally apathetic towards the Witches of Dathomir, so long as they held true to their promise to never raise a hand against the Empire. Many Sith who had once been Witches rejoiced at seeing their brethren, long lost to the throes of diaspora, be given the opportunity to return to their birthplace.
FORMAT INFORMATION
  • The Witch Accords were distributed throughout the Empire in a variety of formats, although the most common was via slim holobooks passed out to every Imperial household by the Office of Imperial Truth.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Dathomir first fell into the hands of the Sith Empire during a meeting between the Emperor and Manda'lor Yasha Cadera, the former requesting the world be transferred to Sith control in exchange for an alliance between the Sith and Mandalorians. Some stipulations were made, as the Mandalorians were to keep a small garrison of their own opposite the Sith garrison at the Warlock Gate. Unbeknownst to the Mandalorians, the Sith had set in motion plans to betray them and assassinate their meager garrison once the prophetized assault on Mandalore had begun.
Following the First Battle of Mandalore, Dathomir fell firmly into the Sith's hands. Things on the witch-world were quiet, if uneasy, in the months following the betrayal of the Mandalorians. However, when evidence surfaced that the Witches of Dathomir had been aiding and abetting the enemies of the Sith, a punic inquisitorial force was dispatched to discipline those clans found responsible.
What unfolded next was a calculated purge of the clans deemed treasonous to the Empire.
Relations continued to strain following this brazen act of violence, and Dathomir was threatened to become embroiled in what amounted to war between the Sith and the Witches. To mediate this rift, the Emperor requested the well-renowned Nightsister Pom Stych Tivé to meet with him on Dathomir to discuss terms. What resulted from this private meeting was known as the Witch Accords.
The Witch Accords stipulated that the Empire would withdraw its forces to the facilities around the Warlock Gate, and would retain direct control over it and an area spanning fifty square miles around it. In addition, the Witches of Dathomir would be allowed to return freely if they so wished, so long as they promised to never raise a rebellion against the Sith Empire. Mistress Tivé was then given the title Gerent of Dathomir, making her the leader of Dathomir under the auspices of Sith-Imperial protection.
