SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Ground Assault Vehicle: The CAT is perfectly designed for ground combat with its repulsorlift locomotion, tight mobility, and arsenal of high caliber weaponry. The Combat Assault Tank works great as an independent operator, and even better alongside infantry and other CATs.
WEAKNESSES
  • No Shields: The CAT relies more on its armor and damage mitigating technology than it does with outright deflector shields.
  • Turret-Mounted Weapons: All of the CAT's weapons are mounted on its turret, meaning that if can only attack in the direct the turret is facing. Simultaneous flanking attacks can cause havoc for the CAT if pulled off successfully.
  • No Anti-Air: Precision bombers are the bane of the CAT's existence. The tank has no anti-air weaponry to speak of, unless it manages to score a hit with its main cannon on a moving aerial target.
DESCRIPTION

Alongside the new walkers of the Sith-Imperial Self-Sufficiency Edict, the engineers of the Sith Empire designed a new breed of repulsorlift tank to charge into battle alongside the Legionnaires.

The Sith-Imperial Combat Assault Tank, affectionately named CAT by both operator and soldier alike, was the first of what was hoped to be a long line of maneuverable tanks to augment the rank-and-file soldiers of the Legion. The CAT could operate efficiently off of a crew of three, a pilot, co-pilot, and gunner, and could hold a contingent of six Imperial Legionnaires that could be deployed wherever and whenever the CAT fancied.

A single heavy laser cannon, an antipersonnel laser cannon, and a missile launcher round out the CAT's formidable armament. For long-range engagements with armor the heavy cannon would be used to crack open enemy vehicles, while the antipersonnel cannon could mop up any infantry that had the misfortune of walking into its crosshairs. The missile launcher could be outfitted with antivehicle concussion missiles or antipersonnel flechétte rockets.
