SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Sith-Imperial Collection and Refinery Complex [SI-CRC]
  • Classification: Industrial Installations
  • Location: Dubrillion
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Accessibility: The Complex is off-limits to the public, with a code clearance required for workers and overseers alike to step foot on the premises.
  • Security: The Complexes are guarded by pretty standard run-of-the-mill garrisons armed with the standard Imperial weaponry and corresponding vehicles while the planet itself is more tightly guarded by a defensive flotilla and orbital emplacements. The interior of the complex, however, is rife with defensive emplacements such as internal shielding, turret emplacements, biometric scanners, and an alarm system that when activated alerts all of the other facilities on the planet and puts them into total lockdown in case of simultaneous attacks.
  • Description: The full scope of the Sith-Imperial Collection and Refinery Complex extends beyond just one singular facility. There are a grand total of twenty similar refineries scattered all across Dubrillion's idyllic surface, each one similar in function. The aboveground portion of the complex is only the barest tip of the iceberg, for the facility runs deep underground for another five hundred kilometers or so into the planet's mantle where rich metals are collected by diligent mining automatons on a daily basis. The raw materials are then collected and lifted towards the surface by massive reinforced elevators. From there they are refined into building materials for the Sith Empire's military-industrial complex and are used to construct warships, walkers, and anything else required by the war machine.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Docking Tower: The tower at the center of the complex was designed to be compatible in docking with a Bajulator-class Star Destroyer. This allowed for the transfer of vast quantities of refined goods to be transported all at once in the belly of carrier warships, ensuring that the shipyards and factories of the Sith Empire would always be supplied with large shipments on a regular basis.
  • Refinery: Built directly beneath the aboveground section of the facility, the refineries work day and night to process the raw goods hauled up from the borehole into usable metals that are then carted off to be transported to other worlds in the Empire like Yaga Minor and Kol Huro.
  • Borehole: Running several hundred kilometers down into Dubrillion's ore rich mantle, the Borehole is the source for the vast quantities of raw materials being collected and then transferred up to the Refinery for processing. Thousands of mining droids work tirelessly, day and night, to collect enough metals to comprise, fuel, and power the voracious war machine of the Sith Empire.
  • Loading Bays: Besides the giant Docking Tower, the Complex also has several standard loading bays and landing platforms for smaller cargo haulers to distribute the burden of hauling materials and goods from Dubrillion to other star systems in the Empire.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

When the Sith Ascendancy first rose over a year ago, Dubrillion was one of the worlds brought into its territory by its proximity to Bastion. However, even as the Ascendancy grew and spread its influence over the surrounding star systems, Dubrillion was left to its own devices. Planets like Muunilinst, Dantooine, and Yaga Minor allowed the Ascendancy to increase the power of its military and build bigger and greater weapons of war.

However, as the Ascendancy became the New Sith Empire, it was apparent that the resources needed to maintain production of its war assets would eventually eclipse its available resources.

The Department of Resources and Munitions began to look for new sources of raw materials, and that was when the eye of the Empire fell back on the oceanic world of Dubrillion. It was found that, like distant Scarif, Dubrillion's mantle was rich in ores and metals, the perfect building materials for new warships and other vehicles. By the Dark Lord's command a total of twenty facilities were built all over Dubrillion, each one digging deep into the planet's mantle to harvest the untapped bounty. Mining droids were made to mine day and night, for weeks and weeks, to fill the outrageous quotas of the Empire's war-time production.

Originally orbital refineries were used to process the raw ore into usable materials, but the bottleneck of transporting mined metal from the surface into orbit became too much of a strain. The facilities were remodeled with underground refineries that streamlined the process, and a docking tower was created to ensure that transportion from the refiners to the cargo haulers was equally as streamlined.
