Faction Sith Eternal Politics

The light of the sun barely pierced the masses of foliage on some parts of Felucia, and yet as the shadows danced on the Cragmoloid's face he couldn't help looking up to try to see through it all. The Graug had made no secret of their mustering, and they'd done all but sent out flares to announce their approach to the planet itself. Not that there was much that he could have done to stop it, after all this was the way of the Sith.

The leathery grey head didn't look down as the herd's second spoke. “The hordes are moving into position, more then likely the same straight forward push they always move in with. The herd has moved into the jungle and understand their orders. Hit and run, pull them in deeper and let the jungle string them out.”

Nodding the Cragmoloid lifted up a sealed vial and sprinkled himself in a light colored, but heavily scented liquid. “Good, make sure every squad is supplied with pheromones. I'm sure most will remember well just how deadly the Sith spawn here are, but there is new blood here now. The chiefs tell me the Felucians have all retreated into the jungle and the Jungle Felucians will aid us as well. I made sure they understood the Graug weren't simple invaders, they were simply destruction.”

There was a trace of remembered fear and pain from the initial challenge on Felucia in his second's eyes but he nodded professionally and let it go. The jungle was the key to winning here, and putting the Graug back in their place. “Of course, Chief, our troops have been sharing some supplies and brewing up some good relations. Good lads if a bit strange.”

The low rumble of Grundark's chuckle filled the air as he moved his eyes to the hovering form of Darth Maliphant. “If you can wake her Sith Spawn the Graug will be damned and killed with every step they take. This planet is built like trap for people exactly like them, here they will fall in line.”

"I could.", he said flatly as his arms were crossed over the alchemized breastplate on his armor.

"But Taeli Raaf Taeli Raaf has been informed of the situation; they will respond infinitely better to her command, not mine."

Which was true. Maliphant had Kala'anda, he could dominate the will of nigh on every being on this planet but the most powerful of the Force Sensitives; and yet, it would make them all weaker for it. Their movements slowed, their reactions dulled - they'd become titans of flesh and bone with none of the aggression they needed to make it more. He sighed quietly as he glanced upwards - hoping to see the distant outline of Raaf's Fleet inbound.

"For now, I shall reserve my strength for Vulcanus. No doubt the 'Saint of Flames' hopes to strike a blow to one of his bigger critiques. For a once Emperor, he sure is sensitive.", he chuckled - mostly for himself than for Grundark.

Deep within the jungles of Felucia - where the sunlight was swallowed by the shadows of towering fungus - the darkness stirred like a living beast. Gnashing teeth salivated and sharp claws glinted in what rays of light pierced the sickly green canopy of the jungle. Somewhere far-off in the distance a war drum's beat echoed like cracks of thunder.

Vulcanus stood silent among the shadows, brimstone eyes cutting through the darkness as he surveyed the warbands he'd lead into the deeper dark of the planet. Already they melded into the forest like true predators, their slimy scales melting into the backdrop as if they were made for this world. In truth, Felucia was not so different from Gratos - the Graug homeworld. It was inhospitable and full of monstrosities that would hunt entire villages for sport just as soon as they'd hunt them for meat. Towering trees and fungus, deep darkness where no light could reach. Felucia was like a sibling to Gratos in many ways.

And the Graug knew their world well and this world was becoming a close second. Not long ago the Graug had fought to hold Felucia for The Sith Empire, thousands of warbands melting into the jungle and striking out at the intruders with ferocity unseen. Those same warbands never left and now more had come to join them at the call of their Burned God.

"Black Flame" a deep, gravely voice approached Vulcanus from the side. The Great Khaan turned over a shoulder to find one of his priests approaching, head bowed to the ground and eyes averted as far away as physically possible, "The Hordes march forward - what is it that you command?"

The Black Flame spoke not for a long while, instead turning his attention back to the deep forest. He considered the thick darkness for a moment, contemplated his next move. Felucia was a dark place - one filled with monstrosities. The warbands that had fought and stayed here since the Sith defense of the planet told him of what spawn laid deep here and there was no telling what other abominations laid in hiding. "Place any warbeasts mounted with cannons ahead of The Hordes - shell the jungles as you advance. Force the enemy to act."

"As you command, Black Flame...and what of the natives? Shall we put them to the chains?"

"
We are not here for slaves" Vulcanus snorted as he turned back to the priest, "Tell the hordes that this world is chosen for the Blood Tide"

The Priest's eyes shot upwards, followed by a wicked smile, but they stopped short of meeting the God eye-to-eye. "
Fill the mountains with the bodies of those you kill...go."

With a fervor of religious fury the priest sprinted into the darkness and back towards the marching hordes while the Black Flame himself turned back to the war bands lying in wait. "
We will stalk in the shadows...wait for the enemy to strike - then we shall slaughter them all"

At that moment there would be a sudden shift of The Force as the priest relayed the message from his god. The wardrum would fade away, replaced by a hellish chorus of shrieking chants - dark words spoken in the Graug tongue. Bloodlust...fervor...fury. They filled the air with a palpable stink that no force adept could ignore.

And Vulcanus himself thought of Maliphant...willing his thoughts to reach the man wherever he may have been.
