SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Compound Meridian
  • Classification: School, Camp
  • Location: Ossus
  • Affiliation: High Sith
  • Accessibility: Compound Meridian is located on old farmland, long since fallen into disuse. Open on all sides, there are few natural barriers surrounding the compound, and is easily visible should anyone look for it. Most of the main structures and areas of the compound are surrounded by walls, but there are more to keep out the elements than any determined explorer.
  • Description: Compound Meridian, from orbit, appears like many other isolated farming communities across Ossus. Several walled sections surround semi-permanent structures, and walkways link most of these section together. A landing pad, roughly fifty meters on each side, is located east of the central section of the compound, with three walkways leading from it to the various other sections. The terrain surrounding Compound Meridian is level, with scattered rock outcroppings, low ferns, and other floral. Given its location in the north of Ossus, Compound Meridian is almost always receiving snowfall, leading to the walls of the compound to be sloped allowing snow build up to slide off.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Landing Pad: Located at the east of Compound Meridian, the landing pad is the largest of the permanent structures present in the compound. Fifty meters by fifty meters, the landing pad is just large enough to hold several small shuttles, or a single larger craft, at any given time. A small metal shack is situated at the southern point of the landing pad, holding the deck officer in charge of coordinating take off and landing, if there are multiple craft approaching or departing at any single time. The area surrounding the landing pad for another hundred meters on three sides is flat enough to be used as secondary landing zones, though it is recommended this only happen temporarily.

Central Hearth: The Central Hearth is one of the two constant areas that will be located at every Compound. At the center of the compound, the Hearth holds the largest meeting area for the High Sith and outsiders to gather within. Located at the heart of the Hearth is a three by three meter fireplace, always lit, and tended to by those within the Compound. Around the Central Hearth is a dining tent, a supply tent, and a medical tent. The Master of the Compounds personal quarters will be located here as well.

Dueling Arena: To the north of the Central Hearth is the dueling arena. Fifteen meters in diameter, the dueling arena is large enough for small group training, or as the name suggests, duels against fellow High Sith. A walkway set above the arena allows for observers to safely view the actions within. Along with the Central Hearth, the Dueling Arena is the other permanent facet of the Compounds.

Living Quarters: To the south of the central Hearth are the living quarters for the servants and Sith of the Meridian Compound. Four main tents are located at each corner of the walled off area, two for the servants, one for any guards rhat might be present, and the last for any Sith without resources to stay elsewhere. The living quarters section of thr compound is situated against a large rock outcropping on its eastern side, helping to shield it from some of the worst weather.

SECURITY
Low: There are no intricate defenses located around Compound Meridian. The compound is on a flat plain, surrounded on all sides by dead and dying farmland with easy access and visibility for kilometers. Besides the landing pad, each section of the compound has a wall, but it is designed more to keep the elements out than true defense. At any time, there could be a single squad of twenty security troopers located in and around the compound, but by and large its main defense is its obscurity and relative simplicity. Unless one was to know it was a Sith base, it could pass as a rather odd but simple farming settlement fallen on hard times.

Historical Information
Compound Meridian began its existence as a small farm on Ossus. Belonging to a single family for twelve generations, the most recent inheritor lacked the green thumb of his predecesors, and owned quite a hefty gambling problem. When he was offered even half of what the farm was worth by a mysterious buyer, he was more than happy to sell and escape the dead end he had made for himself.

When Darth Megarea inspected the farm for the first time, she decides that it would only be a temporary establishment as she began preparations for her grand plan. Workers were brought in, and the farm slowly transitioned into the current Compound Meridian. She established herself within the Compound while she turned her full attention towards loftier goals off world.

In the meantime, Compound Meridian would serve as the first testing ground for the future Sith Praxeum network, and the current headquarters of the newly created High Sith.
