STANDARD FEATURES
  • The Sirmas-class is outfitted with all the features and facilities one would expect for a station of its size and purpose.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • N/A
Strengths:
  • Starfighter Nest: Fully dedicated to its role as a starfighter hub of sorts, the Sirmas-class features all the hangars, storage facilities, and resupply stations needed to maintain four full squadrons over extended periods of time.
  • Star Fortress: Sporting a high-powered and highly versatile multilayered shield, the Srimas-class is more than capable of protecting its fighter complement, which is typically more expensive than the station itself, from all but the most dedicated or cunning assaults, at least against vessels of a comparable size.
Weaknesses:
  • Stationary Object: Combining an unusually slow hyperdrive with exceedingly little manoeuvrability, the Sirmas-class, like most space stations, cannot be expected to make anything but slow-and-steady orbit adjustments or time-consuming hyperspace jumps.
  • Shield-Reliant: Due in part to its exceptionally strong shielding, and in part to the need for large amounts of space to fit the sheer number of starfighters aboard, the Sirmas-class relies primarily on its shielding over its hull plating. For this reason, the station is particularly vulnerable to ion-based weaponry and sabotage.
DESCRIPTION:
Created as part of VCH's Project Aegis, the Sirmas-class shares the versatility and modularity of the Jenja-class, though unlike the former it is a specialist rather than a generalist. With a massive chunk of its internal space dedicated to a vast multi-floor hangar bay, this new space station is uniquely suited to serve as a deployment post for entire squadrons of Starfighters, with large storage tanks beneath its main form capable of storing the vast amounts of Tibanna Gas, fuel, and other consumables needed to keep itself and its squadrons at peak efficiency for extended periods of time.

From the expansive control bridge at its apex, dozens of technicians, officers, and support personnel are able to control the station's own limited armaments, and far more importantly coordinate the squadrons under its command. To better suit this purpose, the Sirmas-class is outfitted with an extensive array of sensors and communications equipment, ensuring that it can perform with distinction in roles as varied as planetary blockading and border enforcement, with some even being used to house the garrisons of worlds that are strategically unimportant and hostile to sentient life in equal measure, though these ignoble postings rarely have anything close to the full four squadrons at their disposal.

This station falls just short of the middle between our hangar rating sizes in the example. I'd recommend increasing the maximum dimension to at least 175 meters to squarely get it closer to the 200 meter size.

Alternatively, you can reduce the listed squadron count to 3.

The general idea was that this was meant to reflect the fact that its volume would be significantly larger than a conventional starship of equivalent size, but I can see how you'd want to go by the longest measurement for simplicity's sake. All measurements increased by 25% to bring width over 175 metres.
