DESCRIPTION

Unquestionably the weapon of a lunatic, Siqsa'tsyok (translating roughly to "Demontooth", and referred to affectionately as "Sicky") was built and designed by one such lunatic, namely Neryn Ka.

In essence, Siqsa'tsyok is a cut-down, stockless shotgun, designed for short length and portability, and featuring a dated over-under break action mechanism. It is evidently very carefully and lovingly made, with a smooth Marrow Flower grip, intricately-runed Shiftsteel engraving, and a solidly-reinforced Helsteel barrel. The interior is lined with heat-resistant Kensium, a wise afterthought considering the often-pyrotechnic uses to which the weapon is put.

Siqsa'tsyok grants its user only two shots, after which it must be reloaded, a simple process accomplished by pressing the gold-plated locking lever located on the tang. This causes the weapon to snap open on a hinge, and the empty shells to be spring-ejected outwards from the chambers.

Despite its poor capacity, the design is simple, reliable, and durable, almost entirely eliminating the possibility of misfire.

Siqsa'tsyok accepts and fires massive, hand-crafted 6-gauge shells, each packed with some 20 pellets of Helsteel shot. Any single one of these pellets to a vital area can inflict similar harm to many medium-caliber slug rifle bullets, to say nothing of several at once.

Within hugging distances (approximately 30-50 meters) this weapon is devastating, often easily shredding flesh and shattering bone (whether armored or not). All but the most heavily-protected infantry (or groups of infantry) would do well to avoid its fire.

Worse yet, the weapon contains the option to fire both barrels simultaneously, projecting a truly withering storm of projectiles that can sweep an entire hallway clean of life. While this option affects the weapon's already-questionable precision, the resultant thunderous impact can often serve to bring down the largest beasts, damage light vehicles, and knock down some obstructions.

Despite being a rather primitive and brutal implement, Siqsa'tsyok has a number of surprisingly high-tech innovations. First among these is a dynamic adjustable choke, allowing the user to set the weapon's approximate projectile spread on the fly. In Neryn's hands, this is usually set to the widest setting possible, as he finds the resultant cone of grapeshot highly amusing.

The second, and more interesting, is a contained energy axe assembly built into the end of the weapon's barrel. When activated, this forms a curved, stylized axeblade of blazing red plasma, perfect for removing limbs in close quarters. When swung by the great strength required to use this weapon at all, the results can be as grisly as they are predictable.

Were this not enough, Siqsa'tsyok is the weapon of a powerful (if inexperienced and unsubtle) Dark-sider. It has been significantly altered with sorcerous and alchemical practices. Aside from greatly-increased resistance to direct damage against the weapon itself, Siqsa'tsyokallows its wielder to alter the properties of its projectiles. For example, a user skilled in Pyrokinesis might eject a burst of flame alongside the weapon's pellets, or a user that favors Sith Lightning might imbue the pellets with shocking energies. More creative uses might include mind-affecting projectiles (utilizing Force Fear/Mind Trick) or especially concussive ones (via Telekinesis) to damage structures.

Unsurprisingly, given the lack of something so basic as a stock (or any recoil-suppressant technologies) and the sheer size and power of its munitions, Siqsa'tsyok possesses recoil that would render it not only uncomfortable, but unusable in the hands of most organic life-forms. Even with the supernatural strength of its maker taken into account, Neryn most often wields it two-handed, though it can be held and fired as a pistol in a pinch.

All told, this is a bizarre weapon, and not one that most sane soldiers would carry into battle in an age of particle beams and turbolasers. Fortunately, Neryn has never been especially hampered by sanity.
