Character Backstory
A recent descendent of
Lirka Ka
, Neryn was destined to be a monster from the instant his cells began joining together. Grown in a vat of unclean slime like his forbear, Neryn emerged broken, unstable, and seemingly destined for the disposal heap. His very first sensation in the universe was pain.
Nonetheless, the new creation not only lived, but thrived, dragging its tortured form forward and enduring despite its innumerable deformities. To keep such a thing alive is a cruelty all its own, but cruelty was always the House Ka way.
In time, Neryn learned to shape his form into something approaching recognizeable, but took a very different approach than his forbear.
As with most of the Once-Sephi's spawn, Neryn is far removed from the core form of that graceful species...
Appearance
At first glance, Neryn's visage is one of boyish, almost cherubic beauty. Not a hair or a line is visible on that face, nor any other mark of imperfection. Save, of course, for the obvious.
Neryn's eyes long ago boiled away under the incredible heat generated by his radically-altered physiology, leaving only two empty sockets that constantly flicker with supernatural flame. Under normal circumstances, this singular eyelessness is hidden beneath an ancient Sephi war mask.
Light, almost silver hair frames the entire picture, usually hanging unkempt in a wild mane. Elaborate rune-scarifications lace his skin from head to toe, pulsing gently in time with the crystalline false-heart that pulses in his chest.
This crystal can be visibly seen in times when its power is drawn upon the greatest, causing Neryn's entire form to visibly glow with heat.
When he has intaken significant power, Neryn's form often changes radically, taking on various monstrous, more radically unnatural configurations.
Personality/Beliefs
Neryn is a truly unfortunate combination of dangerous and insane. Obsessed with becoming the ultimate life form, he has spent much of his short life so far attempting to outrun his own deteriorating body.
Neryn has a love for beautiful things, and loves destroying them even more. He fancies himself a being of culture, though entirely without reason.
Most of all, Neryn is obsessed with proving himself to his forbear, Lirka. Of course, the praise he seeks will likely never be forthcoming, but Neryn is nothing if not persistent.
Due to his youth, inexperience, and unusual upbringing, Neryn tends to be a bit (or a lot) clueless and naive about many things.
Strengths
Man-Made Monster: Neryn can only shakily be classified as a Sephi. His thoroughly-Sithspawned physiology is effectively impervious to poisons, diseases, radiation, extremes of temperature, and vacuum. Likewise, his molten, flaming blood can prove a significant deterrent to melee combatants.
Hellspawn: Neryn is a thing of fire as much as flesh. Aside from a natural skill with pyromancy, his physical form is a fluid one, and can mutate in a variety of unusual ways as it steals power.
Soulthief: Neryn is a Force-draining parasitic lifeform. While initially only mediocre, his power can scale (for a time) to impressive heights if he can manage to drain a large number of living things.
Weaknesses
Sealed Away: Neryn is, for better or for worse, an unnatural creature. Abilities or weapons designed to harm, hamper, or contain Sithspawn are exceptionally dangerous to him.
Low Floor: Neryn is not especially powerful at his base level. He relies heavily on stealing the Living Force energy from organic life, allowing his power to scale to greater heights.
Blind: Neryn is naturally eyeless, possessing only empty sockets in their place, and is reliant on Force Sight to navigate. Should he be within the area of a Force-Nullification field, or attempting to observe something within one, he is effectively blind.
