Intent
The Wild Space Project
The Wild Space Project - W.S.P. - is an ambitious project to fill in the empty hexes of Wild Space on the Chaos Map with over One-Hundred Fifty custom planets as a means to provide additional planets and planetoids for further plot threads, stories and inspiration to draw attention away from the often crowded Core Systems to the fringes of the Galaxy. Sinkora serves as the first in this new series of planets to be subbed over the next many months - depending on the rapidity of approvals - with the potential to span into next year.

Protectorate Arms Headquarters
A rather imposing structure - the Corporate Headquarters of Protectorate Arms is designed in a massive pyramidal structure - though with a flat top that serves as a platform for Anti-Air defenses. This upper section also holds a sizable hanger facility to house starfighters, interceptors, bombers, shuttles and smaller freighters and vessels no larger that One-Hundred Meters in length. The structure itself is designed and inspired by the Imperial structures of Palpatine's Galactic Empire - and seem to fall in line with a more utilitarian view. To this end the structure has straight, hard edges - with entrances often flanked by defensive works and structures to keep unwanted guests out of the building - doubling as a military facility just as much as it acts as a corporate headquarters.
Hand of the Protectorate
One of only a few limited production models of the Guardian EX Mark I Planetary Defense Cannon previously produced by the now defunct Sorenn-Syrush Industries. This cannon serves as the primary defensive capability to ensure the safety of the Protectorate Arms Headquarters as well as their 'wage slave' employees - though more importantly their middle and upper management - as well as their technological developments and weapons schematics. The Hand of the Protectorate - as it is 'lovingly' referred to - is constantly manned around the clock with three separate crews, ensuring that it can fire at a moments notice and defend Protectorate Arms.
Imperial Survey Corps Outpost
A remnant left over from the reign of Palpatine's Galactic Empire - this outpost once served as a refueling station and supply depot for vessels deployed by the I.S.C.. While very little of the original information remains; due in part to the natural deterioration of the Imperial equipment that was left behind - as well as possible sabotage - partial records remained intact within the databanks. The information recovered covers known hyperspace routes within Wild Space as well as the location of a handful of previously discovered - though albeit not fully explored - planetary systems. In the on going years, the Protectorate Arms Corporation has refurbished and refitted the outpost; utilizing it to keep their own deep space scouting efforts supplied and to serve as a primary information depository on their own discoveries.

..:: Culture ::..
----------------------------------------------------------------
On of a few freedoms that the populace of Sinkora IV has is their access to their various native cultures. Whilst one isn't dominate over any other - and in some cases they have come together in an amalgamation in which they borrow from the other cultures present on the world. Thus there isn't a singular dominate culture that can be defined as 'The culture of Sinkora IV'. In this instance the access of the general populace to their culture is a willing freedom that the Protectorate Arms Corporation is willing to provide to ensure that the populace is otherwise kept docile and subdued; thus preventing a larger amount of civil unrest than what is already present.
----------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Government & Economy ::..
----------------------------------------------------------------

Government: Corporatocracy
Affiliation: Protectorate Arms

Wealth: High
  • The wealth of Sinkora IV is directly tied to the wealth of the Protectorate Arms Corporation. The imports and exports of the world are all tied to ensure the continued success of the corporation and to this end no one on the world that works directly for the Corporation is paid in the standard Galactic Credit; rather they are paid in Corporate Scrips, currency used to purchase supplies and goods directly from individuals and shops owned or otherwise attached to an upper management individual or Protectorate Arms itself. Only those within Middle and Upper Management are paid with the Galactic Credit.

Stability: Medium
  • The Protectorate Arms Corporation controls nearly every aspect of society on Sinkora IV and to this end it also oversees the stability and security of the planet and its populace. Civil Unrest is present, though not out of hand - as a state of anarchy has not descended upon Sinkora IV. Crime is dealt with swiftly; even more so if the victim of the crime is a wealthy individual or has some ties to the Protectorate Arms Corporation. While visiting the world an individual may get a sense of a looming riptide; where as it is calm upon the surface though the conditions beneath the waves are chaotic.

..:: Freedom & Oppression ::..
----------------------------------------------------------------

Sinkora IV belongs to the Protectorate Arms Corporation and the Corporation ensures that the denizens of the world remember that simple fact. Much of the populace of Sinkora IV works in one way or another for Protector Arms - be they a 'wage slave', an individual more or less owned by the Corporation due to their working debt, or those in Upper Management whom seem to have more freedom. Attempts to call for Democracy, Unionization or Civil Unrest in any form is brutally put down by local law enforcement units - these Colonial Defense Forces are just another branch of the Protectorate Arms Corporation Military and thus serve the needs of the corporation. Freedom - in both application and definition - really only belongs to a handful on Sinkora IV; specifically those of Middle and Upper Management of the Protectorate Arms Corporation, off world visitors (provided they dont run afoul of the law) and the wealthy that are not directly tied to the corporation though still live on Sinkora. This last group is often the 'aristocratic' families from a time when Sinkora once had an elected government - though managed to retain enough of their wealth that the corporation left them untouched.

----------------------------------------------------------------
..:: Military & Technology ::..
----------------------------------------------------------------

Military
There is no true Sinkora Planetary Defense Force akin to many other planets - this is due in part to there not being a true government of Sinkora. Rather; the military force of Sinkora IV is that of the Protectorate Arms Corporation - being the corporate fleet and military forces ensure the safety and defense of the world. In their capacity, the Protectorate Arms Military serves a multitude of roles, from peace keepers - acting in this capacity as law enforcement - to; as needed, an invading force deployed as the Protectorate Arms Corporation sees fit.

..:: Historical Information ::..
----------------------------------------------------------------
The history of Sinkora isn't long or glamorous by any means. Even during a time when ancient vessels plied along the primitive hyperspace routes that crisscrossed the region of Wild Space. At the height of the Empire that spanned from its nearby neighbor Akeldama; it was still considered an outpost world on the fringe of that empire's territory. Much of its history was spent with little to nothing in terms of actual activity; with only a few visitors from time to time - and a failed attempt at settling across the years.

Its highest point came during Palpatine's Empire, when the Imperial Survey Corps established an outpost on the world to supply their surveying vessels and missions in that area of Wild Space. It was this established outpost that caused others to eventually find their way to Sinkora and settle down - with many settlers dismantling their vessels to be reused as building materials. Those few Imperials stationed at the outpost would eventually meld into the local community that was build up near the outpost - after the fall of the Galactic Empire.

What little history that remains from the end of the Imperial Era into the current Era is mostly hearsay and rumor - as many actual records were either lost, damaged or outright destroyed. Its location in Wild Space spared it from most of the ravages of the Gulag Plague - with the local populace establishing quarantines for new comers and those that may have been suspected of carrying the plague. With the greater Galaxy crippled by the spread of the plague, Sinkora became a backwater, left to its own devices and otherwise lacking in capability to leave the planet - as many vessels that arrived were either destroyed due to them being contaminated or utilized for building supplies to expand the settlement.

Much of its growth has only happened in the last few hundred years; as it was far flung from the rest of the galaxy and even many of its neighbors - what passed for society was simple, and had since their stranding upon the world settled into an agrarian lifestyle. Its 'rediscovery' by intrepid explorers marked a reentry to the Galaxy - though it wasn't a peaceful emergence from their solitude.

The Protectorate Arms Corporation deemed the world to be their property - and as there was no planetary governing body at the time - nor did Sinkora belong to any Interplanetary Government; the Corporation easily claimed what was "theirs". While the more common folk seemed to fight against such a claim, it was the wealthy among them - those that held the most land and had untapped resources at their finger tips - that seemed the most welcoming to allow the Corporation to lay claim to the planet; provided they were taken care of or otherwise paid appropriately to hand over their property to the Corporation. This has caused a societal split, in which those that had no wealth previously are forever chained to the Corporation - while those previously wealthy were able to come and go as they pleased; with many of the 'aristocracy' deciding to leave for the Core Worlds or other luxury planets.

More recent events have seen their own cause of trouble to the planet. The Netherworld Event greatly impacted the Protectorate Arms Corporation - as many of their middle management and upper management went missing as well as thousands of employees. Fiscally it still remains to be seen just how damaging that Event is to the overall growth of the Corporation - who are still recovering even years after its occurrence. Its location though did ensure that it was well out of the way of any collateral damage that many other worlds had seen during the Omega War and an event known as the 'Incursion' - which has been a boon in terms of their capability to exploit local stellar systems and flex their own growing might.
