OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Nexus Name: Shrine of Vaynai.
  • Nexus Alignment: Neutral
  • Location: Vaynai
  • Affiliation: The Emissaries.
  • Size: Medium
  • Accessibility: The Shrine of Vaynai is located on a far-flung archipelago of Vaynai. Far away from any sort of civilization it is isolated and doesn’t see much traffic these days. After House Vizsla with the assistance of [member="Koda Fett"] wiped out the heretical cult there the Emissaries took over and established their own presence. Little to no one is allowed near the site without their approval.
  • Description: The Shrine of Vaynai is one of several shrines scattered throughout the Galaxy seemingly at random. They are part of a larger network referred sometimes as the ‘Shrines of Kooroo’. Since the take-over by the Emissaries the Shrine has been expanded underground and shaped to serve their needs.
NEXUS EFFECTS
The Shrine of Vaynai is part of a network of temples spread throughout the Galaxy referred to as the ‘Shrines of Kooroo’. The ancient network has been imbued with the power of the Force, specifically a very limited form of Fold Space. It allows for two people (one who activates and one passenger) to use the shrine to travel between the shrines and transport themselves across the Galaxy… with heavy limitations.

Only two people can travel at a time. No more. This means that you aren’t going to be able to spawn armies from one part of the Galaxy to the other with this. Furthermore, unlike Fold Space that has the potential of being used anywhere, this network can only transport from point-to-point. Currently Vaynai is only linked to Haffrin, Gelgelar, Branteez, Sufezz and Boztrok.

It could potentially be possible to add more shrines to the network. (OOC: this would either be done through a submission modification or a new submission with the new shrine).

Lastly the shrine does not allow for instantaneous travel across the Galaxy. Unlike Fold Space there seemed to be a delay in transportation. This runs up from a minute to over an hour. This delay seems to be completely random and is not attached to distance or anything else that the cultists under Jairus’ control could measure.

All in all the Shrine of Vaynai allows for fast transportation across the Galaxy alongside established Force nodes. There are some large restrictions on its travel, but enable the Emissaries to make their way across certain worlds and regions without much notice.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Inner Sanctum: At the heart of the temple is the Shrine itself. Serving as a keypiece it dominates the room, since its activation it radiates an amber light between its two sharp metal rods. The floors are covered with fur rugs, the walls with strange runes and ancient hologram projections.
  • Outer Sanctum: The Outer Sanctum consists of the areas around the inner sanctum. They are a combination of spacious corridors, libraries, armories and living quarters. There is a medical bay, training rooms and meditation chambers for the cultists living inside the temple complex.
  • Hangar Bay: Build into the side of the temple complex it is the main storage place for ships and transports of the Emissaries. It is large enough to maintain dozens of transports, freighters and the sort.
  • Outpost Cresh: Located some distance away from the temple complex itself it is camouflaged against the backdrop of the jungle foliage. More modernized as an imperial outpost it contains many sensory equipment (comm-scan and the sort) and communication arrays to spot incoming threats from some distance away.
SECURITY
High.
  • Dark Jedi Cultists. (Relatively comparable to the Reborn Knights from the Jedi Knight series.)
  • Anti-Air defenses.
  • KX-series Security Droids.
  • Auto-turret network.
  • Force Fear enchantment. Anyone who doesn’t belong here gets influenced by fear and coaxed into leaving the area.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Shrines of Kooroo have been the subject of much speculation throughout the centuries and even millenia. Seemingly scattered at random throughout the Galaxy it was suggested they might have been an ancient transportation network left for unknown purposes. Little did anyone suspect that this was right.

An enigmatic cult discovered the purpose of the shrines a decade ago right under the noses of the then-reigning governments, utilizing it to smoothly transition from one world to the next without having to worry about invasive searches and nation oversight.

Until the day came that the Sith Empire arrived on Vaynai and Lord Starvald heard rumors of children disappearing near a location his scrolls suggested was a Shrine of Kooroo.

The Sith Lord hired Mandalorians to investigate and take the Shrine for his own purposes.

After the Mandalorians wiped out the cultists there, the Emissaries moved in and began to study the shrine themselves. With access to the Vaynai shrine it became clear just how much potential this lattice of shrines truly had.

Now the Emissaries utilize it in much the same way as the cult that came before them.

The cycle continues.

I see no issue with this as it builds off a possible established reason for the shrines and there are limitations to stop the instant transport of armies, but any expansion of the network will require another submission of the new shrine/destination.
