Shoan grew up on Nar Shaddaa more specifically New Vertica, and more specific than that Dystra’s Place, his uncle’s bar. Shoan’s father was always on the run, chasing a credit. Shoan learned all he could from his uncle. When he was eighteen Shoan’s uncle became ill. He took over the day to day of the bar, but his trusting nature and need for credits to pay for his uncle’s piling medical bills had Shoan take on an investor. The deal was very bad and Shoan has been working to pay off his debt ever since.
Not long after taking over the bar a young woman appeared looking for her lost father.

it seems was a slicing wizard and was able to track her father’s movements to Shoan’s bar, Shoan’s uncle’s bar. Though Shoan was not able to give any information to Brinna, the two bonded quickly over similar experiences with their fathers. They started dating not long after and have been together ever since.
