Shatterpoint

In the wake of Tanaab, much had changed. Upon Vylmira, and elsewhere in the galaxy. As the Confederacy licked its wounds, changes were set into motion that would have far reaching consequences. It was with a great deal of solemnity and reverence that Voph surrendered his title as Viceroy of Vylmira, allowing another to take his place. Metus had come to him in the days of recovery, and told him it was time. The Knights Obsidian needed him. They needed a leader. And who better than the captain of the Desolation? The Scourge of Zakuul? The newly-reannointed Darth Voph.

Darth Voph. The name echoed in his head. It instilled a sense of tense stillness in him, even after all these years. Tanaab had given Voph a moment of clarity. The ability to make a resolution. He had gone to the Jedi, seeking aid and council. He had been cast out. Told that he was a threat to be exterminated. Unredeemable. Voph had sworn to prove the Jedi wrong. But the Mandalorian threat was something he could not idly ignore. Tanaab had proven to him that the Jedi were not willing to do what the galaxy needed of their finest protectors. Victory had defeated them. The ways of War the Jedi had once known were all but forgotten. The finest warriors in the galaxy, many of whom held Voph's undying respect, now cast aside and forgotten as heretics.

Voph knew what he must become. He was Sith no longer. But he knew he would never be a Jedi. And so, he had revealed his true identity to the Confederacy. And in time, he knew the Galaxy would learn of who he was. But for now, he had more pressing concerns. As he recovered from his injuries, he began to remember.

A place, dark and terrible, that had imprisoned him.

A place beyond the bounds of reality.

Voph was seated in the conference room aboard the Arcane Scion. His apprentices, [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"] and [member="Seaja Linata"] had been summoned. As well as a general message to all the members of the Knights. Something had been found. Something that could prove a boon to the Confederacy. Those brave enough to seek it would be rewarded. But Voph knew deep down...They were not the only ones who sought it.

The time to act was drawing near. And as the Arcane Scion tore through Hyperspace on route to the ice planet of Ilum, Voph could see it drawing ever closer. An event so terrible, it would shape his life, and possibly that of his companions, forever.

The summons had been given. The Passengers of the Arcane Scion were to prepare for landing.

The Shatterpoint drew nearer...

The battle of Tanaab had been a hard fought one, it had done many things. For one it showed the United Clans of Mandalore that the Confederacy was not to be taken lightly, for another and what mattered more for the moment is that it had shown Eli-Mae just what she was getting into. Though she did not expected to see what she had on Tanaab it did not frighten the young girl away from the path she had chosen, instead it had actually made her want to learn the ways of the force and defend the confederacy that she had grown to love.

The Fiery haired girl was in the crew quarters when the summons had come from the conference room. She would instantly start walking quickly, she was always one to not take her time getting where she needed to be. Within a few moments she had reached the conference room. Upon entering she would bow to her master before taking a seat

[member="Voph"]

Voph looked up as [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"] entered the room and bowed. He gestured silently to the seat that had not been taken by the other soldiers and operatives gathered for this task. "Apprentice. Thank you for joining us." Voph turned to the rest of the table, and tapped something on the display in front of him. "The time draws near. I thank you all for agreeing to undertake this mission not only on short notice, but with limited information as well." Voph took a moment to look around the room before continuing. "Understand that what is about to be discussed is to be held in the highest confidence. The following briefing did not happen. If you find yourself unable to comply with this order, speak now, and you will be escorted to the brig for your safety until such a time as the crew is able to return you to Confederacy space."

Voph fell silent again, allowing them a moment to make their piece heard. But no one moved. He'd chosen his team with a purpose. He nodded once in satisfaction as he stood. The room went dark, and a hologram sprang to life around the table. A map. A route began to highlight. The Scion's plotted route from Geonosis to Ilum. "Within the last twenty-four hours, I have received confirmation that an old ruin has been located on Ilum. Located in the northern hemisphere, this ruin is part of a massive structure that was once a Jedi Super-temple. Hosting a battle in the old days of the Republic, Ilum was the beginning of the Sith Empire's final stand. But that is not our concern today. Our concern is a structure beneath the ruins. Predating the Jedi by some years, the structure appears to be Sith in origin. Possibly Rakatan. Regardless, it has come to my attention that there is something hidden within this structure that would prove...beneficial to the Confederacy."

The Holo changed to that of the planet Ilum. "We will land here, travel through the ice layer into the temple ruins, and navigate down to the caves wherein the Sith Structure is located. We have no interior data on either structure, but we've brought mapping drones to assist with navigation. Anything beyond this...we'll take it as it comes. Aside from whatever Chiss get curious, our venture here should be relatively quiet, but be ready for trouble all the same. Questions?"

"Hello Old Man", Vi said somberly, standing at the doorway of the Arcane Scion's conference room. It had been weeks since Taanab, since....it happened. She had come because [member="Voph"] was a friend, an ally, and because he said the Confederacy would prosper from it, though he'd been less than forthcoming with details. Visanj had been quiet since Taanab, withdrawn aboard her ship spending days in quiet reflection and careful consideration of both past and present, and most of all, future. When she got the message from Voph, she couldn't help but to be intrigued, and so, here she is.

She nodded softly to [member="Eli-Mae Forrest"] with a small smile attached, and then went to sit at the table.

"So first, what is this whatever it is we're going after? Second, what kind of problems are we expecting? And third, where's the liquor cabinet?"

Visanj and Voph were each grey, in their own way, and they seemed to just share a mutual understanding. There was a commonality between them, since the first, and neither ever needed to explain themselves to the other. That kind of kinship offers an odd familiarity and informality, but never, not once, was there any lack of respect between them. Vis knew Voph was a man who could be counted on, and for all of his dark faults, she trusted him entirely.

"Forget it, scratch the first two. But about that drink?"
