Public Shadow Eel's Revenge

Yuye waved to the security guard, a smile on his wide face. The guard waved back and stepped aside for the Sullustan to enter the factory. Immediately, his smile faded as he hefted the backpack upon his shoulders. He moved swiftly through the antechamber so he could get to the main control room, where the production manager oversaw all the smelting and manufacturing. The GA would fall, starting by breaking its citizens' unwavering trust of the government.

The Sullustan pulled an access card out of his pocket and swiped it into the production manager's office door. A red light flashed on the card slot. Yuye shrugged. It was worth a try anyway. He unzipped his backpack and pulled out a door-breaker charge. He placed it in the center of the durasteel door and went to take cover behind a stack of boxes. He fished in his pocket for an activator; and found two. Yuye sighed and pulled them both out, taking a good look at them. One was labeled 'door charge', and the other was labeled 'detonators'.

He grimaced and put the detonator one away. He hoped it wouldn't come down to using the bombs he'd placed all around the factory in the few months that he'd worked here. Yuye pressed the glowing red button and heard a small zapping noise as the charge seperated the door from its frame. Yuye rushed over to the entrance in a few strides and held the door, preventing it from falling to the ground with a thunderous crash. Inside, Karna, the production manager, stared at him, mouth agape. She kept glancing over to the yellow emergency button a few meters away from her on the control console. "Don't do it," Yuye said. He leveled a hold-out blaster at her.

Karna nodded and raised her hands in the air. "Why did you do this? I trusted you..."

The Sullustan scoffed as he started pushing buttons on a holotransmitter, blaster still aimed at the human's forehead. "You shouldn't have developed trust that quickly. I only came in four months ago."

Finally. Yuye stepped behind Karna and pressed his blaster up to her temple. He moved within view of the holotransmitter and said, "Citizens of the Galactic Alliance. I am Yuye Chugu. It would seem I am among the few people in Alliance space that is aware of the government's crimes against so-called aliens, such as Sullustans, Twi'leks, Duros. The list goes on and on. While humans rest aboard luxury ships and in houses with the best views of the skyline of Coruscant, aliens like me are cursed to live forever in the underworld. We deserve a better life...

"Listen closely, GA government. If you do not bring me ten million credits by the evening, which should give you four hours or so, this woman here will die, and a healthy portion of the Industrial District will be wiped off the face of this planet. Don't believe me? Go ahead and wait the four hours to find out if I was telling the truth or not."

Yuye pressed the end transmission button and waited. Of course, his threat about a "healthy sized portion" of the Industrial District exploding was false. Only this factory would go up in flames, but already, that would be a hundred or so lives lost. Certainly not a good look on the GA.

“What do we know?” Tandi asked one of the members of his police escort. He had been called from a break he was having down on the lower levels. A former Jedi Shadow. He was sent to investigate the threat. The local PD had traced the transmission pretty quickly, and had cordoned off about three city blocks around the factory. “Yuye Chugu. Sullustan. Got the Production Manager hostage. Assumed building is wired to blow. Maybe other buildings as well.” The police officer explained to the Jedi Knight.

Tandi rubbed the bridge of his nose. “And what do they want?” The police officer looked at a data pad. Reading the briefing. “Alien equality.” The officer chimed up. Tandi shook his head. Sure the disparity between Aliens and Humans wasn’t good, but this wasn’t the way to go about it.

Yuye looked at the security monitor, where a grid of images popped up. All of them were covered in the red and blue lights of Coruscanti police sirens. “Looks like they’ve come to save you, Karna.”

“You’ll pay for this!” She yelled.

The Sullustan didn’t respond and instead adjusted his grip on the blaster. He crossed the room to the turbolift and swiped Karan’s keycard.

A minute later, he was on the roof of the factory, a dozen floors above the ground. Yuye shoved the manager out of the lift and breathed in the evening air. That was a mistake. Smelled like factory fumes.

Oh well. From his pocket he pulled out a trip mine. Nope, that was the activator pocket. He reached in his other pocket and found the round shape of the mine.

Yuye placed it on the back of the turbolift car. Anyone that entered would spring the trap, and would be met with a small explosion and a face full of shrapnel. Hopefully the police weren’t dumb enough to use the lift.

The Sullustan pulled out his comlink and opened a high encryption channel to his operative. “Eagle, this is Eel. Has the Eagle spread its wings?” He asked. Hopefully Eagle didn’t forget the code phrase.

A gruff voice answered. “Eel, this is Eagle. I have eyes on the fish, prepared to dive, talons extended.”

The Sullustan nodded and put away his comlink. Now all he needed was the ten million credits.

Vulpesen's tail twitched as he started up the wall, his claws digging into the duracrete surface. War had been his life. Bombs, he understood. And bombs were used as choke points. Given that the local news had been quick to spot the man taking to the roof, Vulpesen found it easy to guess by what means the deranged Sollustan would cover himself from police intervention. "Well, either he's on a suicide mission, at which point this is gonnab e a quick negotiation, or he won't blow up the building until after he leaves," Vulpesen spoke into the mic installed in his battle mask. He'd been linked with the local security forces upon arrival, and while Tandi did his best to organize the men on the ground, Vulpesen was content to take a more direct approach. "Which is hard to do from a rooftop."

With the force to strengthen his claws, and the natural abilities of a Zorren, it wasn't difficult to scale the building. "Keep an eye on the sky. Something comes flying down, it could complicate things and I might be a bit distracted to take it down." Finally reaching the top of the roof, Vulpesen kept his head below the ledge, a hand removing itself from the wall to pull his pistol from its holster. "Sorry, but its hard to throw a comlink quite this high, so I've come to negotiate!" he shouted up to the hostage taker. "Be advised though, any harm comes to that woman and I'm taking you off this roof, and we won't be using the stairs."

Yuye turned to his left, and heard a voice.

"Sorry, but its hard to throw a comlink quite this high, so I've come to negotiate!" he shouted up to the hostage taker. "Be advised though, any harm comes to that woman and I'm taking you off this roof, and we won't be using the stairs."
The Sullustan grinned, ignoring the person's threat. He pulled out his comlink and sent a high-encryption message to Eagle. "Eagle, this is Eel. A Hawk has come to take the fish. Prepare to strike."

He put away his comlink and shouted to be heard. "So, you have the ten million credits, then? Excellent, climb up here and toss the bag or whatever to me."

The Sullustan retreated slowly, putting his back against the side of the turbolift car, facing towards the voice. He would either give him the ten million credits, or something bad would happen.

"Eel, this is Eagle, talons extended."

Yuye smiled. Something very bad would happen.

Tandi was handed an ear piece that he put in. “I want eyes on that rooftop.” Tandi said into the security force’s comm network. “Marksmen are in position. Can’t get clear shot with the hostage in the way. Air support is about fifteen minutes out.” Was the response that came through.

“I’ll defer to Vulpesen Vulpesen . It’s your call Master. Say the word and they’ll take the shot.” Tandi relayed to Vulpesen through the ear piece. Tandi would wait for one of the gunships to come past, and would board it. There wasn’t much he could from the ground.

“This is all too easy.” Tandi muttered under his breath. Two Jedi and the Coruscant Security Force would make short work of the single would be terrorist. There had to be something they were missing.

Behind the cover of his mask, Vulepsen's ears flicked to the man's voice. Eagle one? Unless this person proved to be an absolute slave to irony, he was fairly certain that the 'eagle' wasn't a tank. "Eyes up. He's got reinforcements incoming. And make sure we get this place evacuated," Vulpesen stated calmly into the comlink before addressing the Solustan. "Your best case scenario is giving up right here." His hand extended and his fist clenched. Below the Sollustan's feet, a groaning of metal and crash of construction would be heard as the shaft for the lift simply... closed. "If you blow up this factory, I promise that you'll join this building in the flames. Let go of the woman."

The Wilder's golden eyes blazed with light as he infused his voice with the force. That last command would ring out like a grenade in the criminal's brain as over half a century of force mastery pressed down on their mind. In his hand, in case the threats and use of mind tricks weren't enough, his lightsaber would ignite with a distinctive snap-hiss. One gold and black blade shimmered out from Vulpesen's right hand. Another, once ignited, would float up to circle the master, a looming threat against any foolish notions of violence.

"Your best case scenario is giving up right here."
The Sullustan laughed. This man wanted him to give up? Preposterous.

"If you blow up this factory, I promise that you'll join this building in the flames. Let go of the woman."
Yuye's eyes widened in fear, and he took a step back. Let go, let go, let go, let go.... If he wasn't pressed up against the turbolift's side, he would have walked right off the ledge! Why was he so terrified? His arm came off the woman’s neck, and he lowered his weapon, acknowledging the man’s request.

What am I doing?!

Karna turned around to hit him, and her fist smashed into the Sullustan's jaw. Yuye took the weak blow with a grunt and shot at the manager, deliberately hitting her on the upper right shoulder. She cried out in pain. Hopefully she wouldn't resist any longer. Yuye grabbed her and resumed the hostage situation. That man was no ordinary cop. A Jedi, then? Probably. And if they sent in a Jedi, the authorities expected the situation to be resolved quickly. Which meant they didn’t bring the ten million credits.

Yuye expected it. “Eagle, are you skimming across the water?”

"Yes, sir."

"Good. Strike."

A few seconds later, a roar filled the air as half a squadron of TIE Bombers approached from a flat angle a few kilometers away, escorted by a half a squadron of TIE Fighters. Swooping down to hover above the roof was a cargo frigate, and the other half of the TIE Fighter squadron flew by it, securing the area. The freighter dropped a rope and Yuye grabbed on to it. He was almost out of here.

“I got bad news, Master, Gunships are still not here.” Tandi spoke into the ear piece, relaying what he was sure the Jedi Master already deduced. He needs to do something. “Can someone get the GA navy on the line?” Tandi asked the security forces around him. Even if the Gunships were here, they weren’t equipped for a dogfight. Especially not one over a populated area.
Vulpesen Vulpesen buy some time, take out the instigator on the roof. I’m trying to get Coruscant’s Navy on the line.” He motioned from the officers around him to the ships above the factory. Indicating that they should begin a scan. They would get the ship’s make and model as well as Transponder ID. “I’m going to make it damn near impossible for them to get off world.”

Vulpesen was not one to squander an opportunity, especially one he had made for a purpose. The moment the Sollustan had released the woman, she had barely had time to cock her arm back for the punch before being yanked off of her feet and across the roof. Vulpesen's arm, like a steel clamp would wrap around her waist and hold har tight as he lifted a hand to catch the bolt sent their way, simply absorbing it with another display of power in the force.

Tandi's voice once again buzzed in Vulpesen's ear, the 'bad news', bringing a prominent growl to the Zorren's voice. "Then get them here! Wave around your Jedi kriff stick if you've got to!" Many things, Vulpesen was. A jedi he was not. One one hand, he was no longer bound by that all consuming monastic morality. On the other, he no longer enjoyed the military command once given to him by the Republic, and he assumed, was now given to Jedi of the Galactic Alliance.

Tandi's next suggestion, needn't even be said as the pair were of the same mind. The last thing Vulpesen wanted was for the alien before him to leave the roof, leaving it open to bombardment. Thus, the second the rope descended, he was quick to react, pointing his weapon at it with a focused glare. At his right, where the other half of his saber floated, a crack would sound as it launched forward, arcing through the air to sever the line. "You're not goin' anywhere! You wanna blast this factory then you best get ready to burn with it!"

Yuye frowned as the woman was suddenly wrenched out of his arms. Kriff. For sure that's a Jedi on the wall. The Sullustan grabbed hold of the rope above him and it began to reel him up...when suddenly gravity took over and he fell, still clutching a portion of the rope tight in his hands. He snarled and pulled out his comlink. "Eagle Five, just land! There's a Jedi on the leftmost wall. Land in between him and me! Eagle One! Strafe the side of the building with the Jedi on it. It'll be risky, you might shoot the freighter, but try it."

He had to get the Jedi off his back, or else he wasn't getting out of there. A high pitched whine sounded to his left as a TIE Fighter broke off patrol and came in to strafe the side of the building. Off in the distance, Yuye could see the bombers getting closer and closer. "Eagle Seven! Abort the attack, just drop your bombs on the other buildings! Preferably...the high-rise luxury hotels. They're behind you a few dozen klicks away. Get there fast. Then we're leaving."

The Sullustan tapped his foot impatiently as the freighter went to settle down in between him and the ledge to his left, where the Jedi was without a doubt. The bombers would surely complete their mission. He reassured himself with that knowledge. His life ultimately didn't really matter, because in the end, he would just become a martyr for the uprising. The "aliens" of the Galactic Alliance would view his death as a selfless sacrifice. It would draw more people to his cause. And that would be the Galactic Alliance's downfall...

"Tandi, catch!" Yuye's words had brought a grim certainty to Vulpesen's mind. He didn't have time to bandy around with words and possible reinforcements. The woman in his arms was quickly flung from the roof, and Vulpesen offered an apologetic grimace as she hurtled down towards the knight below. One problem taken care of, Vulpesen saw that his next two answered himself. There was a ship flying off to bomb a civilian structure, and he had no way of chasing after it. Then, a fighter was kind enough to land right in front of him.

He wasted no time in launching himself forward, the force quickening and strengthening his body as his claws scraped at the metal of the fighter. Clambering atop it, Vulpesen fixed the Sollustan with a look of unabashed fury and a pointed finger. "This needs to end!" He growled and the saber, now floating above his head after severing his life line, lanced down towards the arm that held the detonator.

The saber in his down, mimicked the same action, though instead of aiming for the sollustan before him, he drove it down into the fighter, piercing throught the port hatch and towards the head of the pilot within. If these terrorists intended to take innocent lives for nothing but petty cash and made up claims of specism, then he would have little reason to show even the slightest amount of mercy. Afterall, the Sollustan had made one grave error upon seeing his sabers and display of the force. Vulpesen was a Wilder. He was not a jedi.

Atop a nearby building, Drego Avik stood watching a set of Ties fly across the Coruscant sky, below him. The call over the GA comms was clear. They needed support.

So he did the logical thing.

Try and board one.

He activated his jump boots, leaping into the air. His inertial dampeners should allow him to just smash through the cockpit of one of the tie bombers. His AI had ran the calculations, and he just needed to...

Shan had been relaxing in the cockpit of his interceptor, doing some checks over it to make sure it was all going well. He wanted to make sure that all of the components of it were ready to be used considering he had been using it plenty for his own personal use. Flying off to new planets, sometimes when he just needed to clear his mind in the emptiness of space, he'd fly off towards the upper atmosphere of Coruscant. Imagine his surprise then, when he heard over the comms of his interceptor that there was apparently TIE bombers and fighters in the air of Coruscant, causing the Mirialan to kick hismelf into action almost immediately and closing the cockpit. With that, he set off to go and deal with this threat to the population.

It was already looking like a big problem as he arrived. He could see someone being thrown from a building before being caught in another ship, and then he saw what looked like a Mandalorian launch itself up into the air and straight towards a TIE bomber. What in the Force was going on?! Either way, he should make sure his presence was known. "This is Jedi Padawan Shan Pavond, reporting in. I'll focus on the Bombers to try and keep their bombs away the general population." He didn't have much that could deal with the bombers right now, and part of him was worried about hitting the Mandalorian that was trying to get into one of the bombers. It didn't matter to Shan however as he decided to throw himself into the battle, doing various barrel rolls to try and avoid getting shot himself.

The Padawan focused on getting close to the Bombers, waiting to lock in on some of the bombers. Waiting...Waiting...And then fired off both of his magnetic pulse warheads to try and deal with the Bombers' weapon systems. Hoping that it would cause a couple of them to be unable to launch their payloads, but the Fighters behind Shan were starting to get on his tail so he used the turning capability of the Interceptor to turn around and start firing off at the TIE fighters. The Mirialan felt surges of stress and disappointment coursing through him as he fired on the fighters. Though the source of the surges were from himself. Shan was going against his pacifism, his dislike of violence, to fire upon these fighters and try to protect the people.

Tandi Catch? What did that mean? Tandi thought to himself before seeing a body ejected from the roof. TANDI CATCH!

Tandi launched himself forward, reaching up with the force. Slowing the woman’s fall. It was a long drop, and Tandi was running full speed to get underneath her. Hand outstretched slowing her descent.
Only for her to land gracefully in his arms. “Tandi Preegasa.” He introduced him a nod to the woman before putting the flustered lady down.
