The intention is to connect the Shadow Conservatory with the
Great Library Initiative, as well as other like-minded initiatives, and move forward with Recovery and Conservation plotlines that unite Jedi Shadow and Temple Guard RP around the preservation of Jedi Culture and the accumulation of knowledge, artifacts, holocrons, and other pieces of Jedi history within a new Temple.
This would also serve as a strong narrative mirror and point of opposition to the
Arcana Veritas Academy on Jutrand and the
Cabal of Free Inquiry.
Beyond that, the Conservatory would support archaeologist, information-broker, intelligence, and spy-style RP plots, giving characters reasons to pursue lost archives, recover endangered artifacts, track illicit collections, investigate stolen knowledge, and compete over who ultimately preserves, or
controls, the remnants of Jedi history~
Building up these kinds of connections is pretty important to Braze because, quite simply, a lonely Shadow is a sad Shadow.
More seriously, he has very little interest in seeing the Shadows become another collection of isolated Jedi quietly pursuing the same problems without ever speaking to one another. Recovery and preservation work becomes considerably easier when there are people willing to exchange information, compare discoveries, teach one another, and call upon different areas of expertise when something strange inevitably turns up.
Braze would much rather build a network than an enclave.
Part of the Conservatory’s purpose would be creating those connections between Shadows, Temple Guards, archivists, archaeologists, scholars, information brokers, and other Jedi whose work naturally intersects with the recovery and protection of knowledge. A Shadow might locate something lost; an archaeologist might understand what they have actually found; an archivist can preserve it; a Temple Guard can ensure it remains safely where it belongs.
The Conservatory would also give younger Shadows somewhere to find experienced people beyond their immediate Master or Temple, while giving older Shadows somewhere to pass along what they have learned rather than allowing that experience to disappear with them.
There will always be aspects of Shadow work that require secrecy, but Braze simply sees little reason why secrecy should also require loneliness.
