Special Features
  • Because of the nature in which this crystal is formed, it is very cold to the touch.
  • Similarly to the Lava Crystal, this crystal also has an elemental effect in that the sub-freezing temperatures of the blade it produces can create ice and even flakes of snow by condensing the water in the air around it that can fall from the blade to the ground.
  • The blade produced by this crystal is brighter than blades produced by most other crystals.
  • Produces a light blue, nearly white blade if used for a lightsaber.
Strengths
  • The nature of this crystal's conception makes it so that the gemstone itself has an extreme resistance to the cold.
  • This blade has the potential to produce ice crystals and even flakes of snow might fall from its blade as the sub-freezing temperatures of the blade it produces condenses the water in the air around.
  • The hum of the blade of this weapon acts a a means to aid the wielder in their focus, making it easier for them to concentrate in seemingly desperate and unwinnable scenarios.
Weaknesses
  • This crystal's stability can be threatened by situations of prolonged extreme heat [multiple days on a volcanic planet such as Mustafar].
  • These crystals are extremely rare [believed to be only four to six currently in existence] and are notoriously difficult to work with once acquired.
  • These crystals seemingly react better toward force users aligned with the Light Side of the Force as it was a Light Side Force Nexus that led to their formation. Practitioners of the Dark Side of the Force would find it gravely more difficult to use and further master this crystal.
Description
The Serrisht Crystal is a crystal native only to the planet of Yesmireen. The process in which these crystals are formed is a delicate one and must involve one of the native species of the planet, the Kurnia Seren, as well as the planet's Light Side Force Nexus, Serin. Once a certain set a variables and conditions are met while a Kurnia Seren is within the area of influence for the Nexus, it will allow for the incubation of the Vriashta Serrisht bacteria within the bird which then begins the cycle of the crystal's growth which can take a number of years. Because of the nature of the relationship between the bacteria and the host, the bacteria can only survive so long as its host does, and once it has died, it can not be revived, this halting any further growth of the crystal.

Due to previously unregulated hunting of the birds on the planet in hopes of finding the trophy that may have been housed within, the Kurnia Seren has been hunted to the brink of extinction, now numbering no more than 1200 alive today. Because of this, the crystal, which was already rare within the species, has become even rarer, and is thought to exist in roughly four to six of the remaining Kurnia Seren of the planet, but there is no way of telling which of the species holds the bacteria and the crystal, not how long that relationship has existed.

When this crystal is found, however, and used within the construction of a lightsaber, it can give the weapon a few rather significant traits. Firstly, the blade produced by the crystal is luminous beyond most other lightsaber crystals in existence and is a light blue, nearly white color. The blade also maintains a sub-freezing temperature which can condense the water in the air it to ice and snow that might appear to fall from the blade to the ground below it. The crystal also carries the ability to aid its wielder with their ability to focus, allowing them ease in concentration while in desperate or unwinnable scenarios.

What is peculiar about this crystal, however, is it seems to have a preference toward who it will allowing to wield it, favoring force-sensitives with an alignment to the Light Side of the Force meaning it is easier from light side practitioners to wield the crystal to its potential and form the all too important bond with it. Dark Side users of the Force would find that this process is significantly difficult, though not impossible. Further along these lines, if a Light Side user that had bonded with this crystal and wielded, but then turned to the dark side, would once again have to bond with the crystal to once more unlock its full potential. Too drastic of a change done too quickly can also bring about the destruction of the integrity of the crystal as well and would have it crack and crumble, dying amid the stress induced upon it by its wielder.
