OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: A short-range sensor suite for Sylva Vitae biotech
- Image Source: I made the 3D model, and the real-life image comes from ARS Technica
- Canon Link: N/A
- Permissions: N/A
- Primary Source: N/A
- Manufacturer: Sylva Vitae
- Affiliation: Sylva Vitae, Jack Sandrow
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Model: Aspectu - SV-011.4
- Modularity: No
- Production: Limited
- Materials: C. viridis (for the thinking part), basic puffball-type fungi with high spore count
- High spore production allows usage in most environs, with average production allowing approx. 10 uses per combat scenario
- Compatible with Chyme fluid for refilling as necessary
- Fully compatible with the SV suite of weapons and armor, including 'smart' weaponry
- Spore cloud is thick enough to coat and 'adhere' to most surfaces, while being 'slimy' and 'solid' enough to be filtered out by anything and everything thicker than shirt fabric - you won't choke on the spores.
- Quick dispersal of spores allows for rapid awareness in combat
- Non-technological sensor suite makes it immune to EMP or other anti-tech countermeasures
- Thick film of spores is almost impossible to remove, providing consistent awareness for the duration of effect
- Impractical in large open areas, and entirely unusable in vacuum
- Organic design is weak to biological filtration, and is not unlimited in its duration
- The deployment is not instantaneous, and quick reactions will prevent it from spreading.
A small nodule that can be attached to the Sylva Vitae armor and weaponry suite, the Aspectu sensor suite is used for close combat, particularly in urban areas. The nodule first sprays spores all over the place, leaving a thin film of the spores on every surface. This provides a real-time 'holo-map' that the C. viridis plant computer processes and utilizes as necessary. Solid objects such as walls and floors are tagged as such, and any target in the area is likewise tagged according to the IFF protocol set upon onset of combat. With 'smart' weaponry, this allows SV bullets and shells to 'curve' around obstacles and strike their targets without requiring line of sight.
